I have received calls from this number for months now. I have finally filed a complaint with the FTC. They are scammers. Whatever you don't give them the money they ask for especially if you know that you don't have a payday loan, online or otherwise.

Same thing happened to me. I got a phone call from 209-729-3821. They claimed that they're from David M. Harrison Legal services saying that I was charged with fraudulent and did not pay back the loan that I borrowed from American cash advance. They asked me if I wanted to resolve this with their client and pay the money, but I said I need some time to think about it and I asked for their number so I can call back and they give me this number 714-794-8397. I googled the number and found a bunch of reports on it. I did enter some information from some payday website but never got through with it, and ended up closing my checking account because there was some fraud check signed under my name. Now this happens, I guess they got my information from the websites. This is a big scam!! Hope this helps.

I just got a call from an Edward Smith from this number saying if myself or an attorney did not return the call a case would unfold. I had this same situation happen to me in October of this year, getting threatened to be taken to court in California

the person claimed the call was from David Brown legal service. He told me that I am suppost to go to court at 2pm today and claimed that I was being charged with check fraud. My uncle called to get more information but he kept ****ing up on him.
