Leave a CommentADebtCollector: granted not all are s***, but the ones making these calls are and not all people are ******. Some of us have had some really serious bad breaks and try as hard as we can to get jobs and want to pay the debt back. We are not lazy. We are broke. It was not bad decision. It was people who thought they had a future and thanks to the Washington ilk we have to suffer with we no longer have those dreams and futures. Since you show no sympathy or understanding your closing part of your statement I would find it hard to believe you don't break the rules every chance you get.
Not everyone in the business practices this way. I find it ****** that people generalize and group all people of one profession together as if they are all exactly the same. I personally collect on student loans and break no laws whatsoever, especially those dictated by the FDCPA. Grant it, there are plenty of bad seeds in every profession, but sometimes people who can't do so****ing as simple as balance a checkbook should not make statements such as those in the former posts. Please define to yourself the words BAD DEBT. In my mind it mostly translates to BAD DECISION or NEGLECTED OBLIGATION. I can't speak for those that do no do their job properly, but how close-minded is it to jump to these conclusions about EVERYONE? A***n, it actually IS ******.
They're a debt collection company so whatever you do, never call them back! Not even to ask what they're talking about. Some less scrupulous collectors will use you calling them to res**** the clock on a debt or even claim it as you admitting to the validity of the debt.Taken with a grain of salt everyone I've come across who's getting calls from this collection company all had disputed the claim before the so called debt got sent this company. Once a collection company buys a debt the original company says it's out of their hands and this company could care less about whether you actually owe it or not. I called a lawyer and he said my best option would be to ignore them. If you're getting calls from them I suggest you call a lawyer too even if you think the debt is real! They're bad news.
they called my magicjack how the heck did they get that number I don't even know it
I'm in the west coast, this company called me at 7am. They are in violation of the FDCPA!!! they can be fined & possibly loose their license to collect out here for calling before 8am. I called them back & they claim can't help & rudely ***g up?
Got a call this morning and the guy said he was calling from "Genesee Community", a community college here. He was asking for my wife, who's never been and has no dealings with the college. He asked who I was and I said, "No. You first." He said he could only discuss it with her so I told him it looked like he was *****ed because she wasn't home. "Tell her to call this number..", he s****ed, but I cut him off with "I'm not her **** secretary" and ***g up. Sometimes these guys can serve a useful purpose as a pun****g bag. I checked the number after that and found out it was these clowns.
they call me numerous times to collect a debt. hey'd call up to 10 times on my CELL PHONE in 2 hours while i was at work. i had called them back to inform them that this is a CELL PHONE and do not contact me any longer and any payment arrangements I make will be done through school. They still continue to call me on my cell phone. The guy left me a message saying it is "unacceptable" and trying to threaten me with my credit score etc. well guess what? its in collections and i already know my credit score is **** but I also know that what they're doing is a***nst FDCPA. i need to sue them.
These****wipes called me for months last year (2008), always for some college student with a Russian surname. Increasing threats ("Your credit rating is at stake!"), rarely answered the number they left (and when they did, was always disconnected). They called a cell that I use only for travel. Calls stopped briefly ca. 11/08 after I filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry (https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx). Now, they're back a***n. Someone really needs to sue and imprison these people.
Left message regarding my claim number, did not identify who they are.
I have gotten 3 calls from them this morning, who is it? and what do they want?

This number of 716-541-1931 is another fake number for NCO Financial Systems and Portfolio Recovery****ociates. They are in conjunction with one another. They have an office in Buffalo, NY. These people are evil. They go after bad debts that are 8 years old and older. They violate every law, rule and then some under the Federal Guideliness of the FDCPA (Federal Debtor Collection Practice Act). They think people are ****** out here. It is a matter of time they are all going to be indicted by the Federal Goverment. They file fic***ious judgments illegal and deceptive without verifying information and they use personal information from within to do this. What I cannot understand is that the State's Attorney office along with the Federal Government has not *****ed down on this behavior and they continue to get away with it. They will soon have a class action lawsuit a***nst them. They are all tied in together. They appear in many different forms, and telephone numbers and agencies. But when it comes to the reality, they are NCO Financial and Portfolio Recovery the two biggest Debt Collectors in the nation. They use many fraudulent practices along with their very clever and slick attorneys.
