Same s****, but we cut it off sooner. Thick hispanic accent, and my wife's maiden name is Spanish.
I received a call from 720-221-0351 from a lady with a Hispanic accent asking me to verify information for healthcare, I told her I’m not looking for health insurance, she said she understood and she insisted that it would only take a minute to verify my information, to my amazement she had all kind of information on me including my E-mail and home /cell phone number, height and weight that she only wanted to verify. Minutes after I talked to her I was ****ed by health insurance sales saying they paid $12 for my phone number leads. I called this number back and no one would answer, I did a search it comes up as Dataverifier Dataverifier at 21699 US HY 40 Golden Colorado 80401
This number kept calling and would **** up before I could answer. Finally I decided to sit by my phone and wait til it called a***n and I picked up on the first ring. A lady with a heavy accent insisted she was calling to verify my information and had my name and address. She then said that she verified information for health insurance and asked if I needed or had health insurance for myself. I said I do not need healht insurance for myself. She asked "So for how many people in your house? Do you have any children?" So I asked her a***n where she was calling from and she said "The health department" I asked WHAT health department. Finally she said "The health department of Michigan." I asked how she got my number and she insisted I applied for health insurance (which I did for my son when I got laid off, but this was su****ious so I told her I did not) and she goes "Fine, if you don't want the health insurance that is your problem." And ***g up.I then contacted the Michigan Department of Community Health and explained the phone call. I gave her the number and she called it and said it went straight to the voicemail which didn't say what company it belonged to. I was advised by the State that this sounded fishy and if the woman called back to let her know I am not comfortable giving out my information and that she needs to specify which health department she was calling from because there is no Michigan Health Department. We only have county health departments. And if she still insists to tell her that I am reporting her to the State Attorney General for health care fraud. And that should either get the real information out if she is legitimate (which I doubt she is) or get the calls to stop. If the calls come back through I will definitely do this and let you all know what happened with it.
That's nice...BUT, I, personally, don't want to be bothered with calls from strange numbers trying to sell me things, especially those attempting to acquire personal information via the phone.I asked the lady (of middle-eastern descent, and that is strictly a guess based on my travels) politely to remove my name from the database/call list and to not ever call me a***n. She was not rude, nor was she discourteous, however she was persistent. That is a nice quality to have as a salesperson, but I, along with millions of others, aren't interested in this type of solicitation. The number, for those wondering, is 720-221-0351. It is NOT a good thing that you have to search on the internet and go to a website where people REPORT su****ious, strange, and persistent phone calls - just to have a company representative defend the nature of the business.
