They called claiming a lawsuit a***nst a long time dead man

Caller asked for "someone in payroll or a supervisor". Referred to a former employee at our company, said the former employee is being sued by a law firm, and that she must call the law firm within an hour or she will be served with a Failure To Appear do***ent. The caller gave a case #2210157-19OR. The # the caller gave, for our former employee to call was 725-223-8288.

They were trying to get in touch with a family member saying they were a professor that got a fax and were serving him at his place of employment.

I was told that I had to pay $1300 on a loan I supposedly owed from years ago. He said they sent me a letter in the mail which I never received. He claimed they will take me to court and I will be responsible for legal fees. What's scary, they had the last 4 of my social and my home address. They asked if I can do a payment plan. At that point, I just ***g up the phone.

Called my place of employment and left a message to call this number within an hour or they will serve me,

They called due to a fax they said. Stated they were a processor and would be serving me at my place of unemployment on March 3. Stated for me to contact this number which goes directly to a VM that says “you’ve reached the loss mitigation department”.

Stating theyare a processor, and going to deliver a fax to my place of employment, which they called me, and I am not employed, I live in the state of Missouri, not in Las Vegas don’t like people having my cell number

Due to a received fax, I would be served at my place of employment on March 3rd.... Left a callback number to call, only to get voicemail option. I was a wreck for days over this.

I was told I’m being sued over a non existent 10 year old payday loan. Mailed a non existent letter 2 months ago pulling up information to scare me into paying them money I never borrowed don’t believe this ********

Exactly as the user above - received a voicemail saying that I will be served at my place of employment through a fax order and gave only the number to call if serving needed to be rescheduled.

Seems pretty fishy to me. supposed to be a law firm, but thats extremely questionable as no address can be found by beenverified. legit lawyers do not need to hide.
