Debt collector trying to collect a Debt I never owed. belongs to some one else. these people are scammers and will try to ruin your credit. at least that is what they say. they said" we'll ruin your credit if you don't pay this debt. I said go ahead and try I work for the NSA and will find you and release all your personal records to everyone on the internet. I have not received another call these are a bunch of s*** bag scammers.

They call from various numbers across the states..I keep blocking the number and they keep calling back with a different number in different city

Well for those who are not familiar with portfolio Recovery debt collection, let me lay out what they do. These guys buy leads wholesale and don't care much whether the debt is current, statute barred or even paid off. Their tactics are shall we say in the grey area of the law. So as you might have figured out by now, they know all the Federal loopholes. So if you don't want to hide from them and give them as good as they give, your best bet is your state attorney's office. By the way, settling with these guys for a discounted payment is not going to help you any, their letter of settlement is for their debt only. That will not affect the original debt holder, nor the one that they will sell your information to – yup, they'll sell it as soon as they finish getting paid.

They get contact information from services such as Intelius where they can pay a monthly fee to look up people's history, relatives, exes, etc. We have been constantly harassed by this "so called" debt recovery service for years now. I received a call from this number earlier today. I've also received calls from other weird numbers like this one. They call every couple weeks and never leave a message. Most likely scammers. So****ing needs to be done to stop these annoying calls once and for all!!

Portfolio Recovery****ociates. Trying to collect a debt for a former spouse. Divorce decree stated HIS CREDIT CARDS were his responsibility. Tried to tell PRA that, but they s****ed in on "can you help us contact him" BS!!!! Not my job, not my spouse, no longer my problem. Asked them to not call me as they were wasting my cell minutes. They don't care, just keep calling. I found a number blocker and have blocked three different #s for them so far.

One of 200 Portfolio Recovery numbers... I owe you blood****ing leeches NOTHING!
