no its not a scam. if someone knows your number they can call.

It's a correctional facility.  They obviously can't recieve incoming phone calls.  If you know someone from the Monmouth County Correctional Facility they are trying to reach you.  The jail only allows collect calls and if your phone doesn't allow collect calls you will be prompted to add money for the call by pressing 4.  It is VERY expensive!  So, be conscious about the time you are talking.

i have gotten 6 calls in two days from the same thing i just **** up

Keeps calling us with some story about an inmate whose name is garbled, trying to reach us from Monmouth County Correctional, call the number back, and a man's voice says it's out of service(doesn't sound like phone company voice), but then it rings over and over, no answer.

I received the same call today, same message, and could not hear a name.  It said my phone will not accept collect calls and to press a number...I ***g up.  Sounds fishy.

"Inmate at Monmouth County Correctional Fac. is trying to contact you. Please add money to your prepaid account. To accept press 4, to deny press 5 or **** up". So****ing like that. I got a call from this number 4 times between 5-6am on Oct 14. The name of the inmate is barely audible. Anyone know if this is a scam or not?
