I answered the phone thinking it was a local call. He asked for me by my first name as if he was some long time friend, but this was after a short delay after me saying*****o - I could tell from the background noise it was a call center. I ***g up. I was not called back. Maybe he got the hint. (And my number is on the Do Not Call list.)

My caller ID said: LOCAL CALLER. So, I answered the call. It turned out to be telemarketers for some statewide police group. Because I give locally, I'm annoyed by these marketing operations from outside my town. I told them that their marketing practice is deceptive by making me think it's a local call and because of that I will never give them any money.

Called and asked for resident by name, but ***g up before the resident could come to the line

I screen my calls and if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer and the ma****e answers. No messages. Just ****ups. It's still annoying.
