They called my cell phone even though it's on the Do Not Call Registry. I don't remember their business name but they were offering to lower my credit card interest rate.
am extremely upset from being harassed by various people who identified themselves from Credit Card Services. The first call came from New Brunswick New Jersey (732) 545-0116. A return call in the afternoon came from Oregon 541-200-3337. I did not have my credit card at the time of the first call. A woman asked to call back to get my expiration date on my credit card later for verification. The first representative claimed that they would provide me with a significantly decreased interest rate of six percent, if I agreed to continue to make payments on time. It was to cost me no money and there would be no c****es made to my current Chase account. Specifically, an operator Anna, identified herself as number 435, insisted I provide her with the expiration date on my card then she tried to convince me to give her all but the first 4 digits of the card. I told her my concerns that this is what people from scams ask. Then she gave me the first 8 numbers and asked for the last 8 digits of my card. I told her this type of information should not be asked and that it was a scam. She claimed these were security measures that they handle decreasing credit rates for Chase, Bank of America and another major company I cannot remember. She then proceeded to quote my current balance and my last payment, so it appeared legitimate. Then Anna transferred me to another man who was supposed to give me a confirmation number for this offer. Then he said to me, it would take about 20 minutes. That he would have me parti****ting in a conference call with Chase on the phone and I would be charged a one time fee of $890 to permanently decrease my interest rate to 6 percent. When I said this was not what the woma, Anna had told me, he said he was telling me now and don't I want to permanently decrease my interest rate and save over $2000 in the next three years. He told me that this agreement was done and I could do nothing to stop it. He then told me I had just given my information about my credit card to some stranger in a foreign country and now I was transferred back to him in the United States. I was transferred back and forth to several other people and then ***g up and immediately called and cancelled my card number and reported this scam. It's very disturbing how convincing these people were and how much of my credit card information these people had. How they could provide bits and pieces to convince me that this was a valid offer from Chase is it very disturbing.
