I received the same call from Officer Smith.......I told him he was a lier then I s****ed singing "Im a working on tha railroad, all the long long day, then he ***g up. He called a***n about 2 weeks later and s****ed his bullch** and I s****ed singing "Jimmy ***** Corn"...He yelled some ******ities and said that he was sending the cops in 2 hours to arrest me..Then he ***g up.A few days later, he called back. I said I'm still waiting to be arrested and my bags are packed and I asked him "would he send me commissary money, and he s****ed screaming and ***g up.I haven't heard from him in about 3 months. I'm ready for him to call a***n.....That's exactly every one should do that are getting these calls, turn about is fair play. Mess with them like they're messing with you.

(And, typical of many financial scams, they demand payment via Western Union or MoneyGram or credit card.) TThey use any number of phony names such as US National Bank, Federal Investigation Bureau, US Legal Investigation Bureau, Hopkins Law Office, United Legal Processing, Morgan****ociates, United Pay Services, National Processing, White Collar Crime Unit and many more. These criminals also use many phone numbers from many area codes; they're probably using caller-id s****ing software and/or VoIP to disguise their real locationDO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY AND DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD THEY SAY... You will not be arrested, believe me, They have threatened so many people with this and they say you have to show up in court.  Just tell them ok, then call your local County Clerks office and ask if you are on the docket, I PROMISE you they will so no. ........ITS A BIG SCAM.

First, there is no debtors prison. They cannot have you arrested, and you cannot go to jail.I know that this is a scam. It happened to me to. I got similiar threats from these pumks.They prey on the ignorance of uneducated consumers. It is really in your best interest to learn the laws that affect the things you do. Learn your rights. Knowledge is power!Just **** UP orLaughing and ****ing upSaying "Fine, I'll see you in court" and ****ing upTelling them you're recording the call for your attorney. This makes them **** up. I kept getting voicemails from this same guy calling himself John Conner and portraying himself as a police officer. I ignored the calls in the beginning.  Because I knew for a fact I had NO outstanding Debts.After the 6 or 7th call to my voice mail, I guess he got desperate and somehow had the number of my employer.  So he called a few weeks ago and was shocked that he was called the police dept.  Haven't heard from him anymore

The man said he works for Financial Crime Division, a company he said provides services for USNB. gO TO abc nEWS, they did a piece on these scammers.  WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T SEND THEM ANY MONEY, They cannot arrest you.

These guys were featured on 60 Minutes.  They got their information by hacking into Internet sites, and they threaten lawsuits a***nst the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.  They speak with an Indian accent, and they claim you will face "harsh legal action" unless you send them between $5000 and $1,000.  They are total idiots because their name does not even make sense:  United Investigation Bureau Department.They use names likeSteven Smith and John Conner but their real names are probably so****ing like Mahamanda Yogananda.  They can barely speak English.They use various call back numbers including 347-844-6701 and 718-766-7916.The best idea so far was what Paybackisa****** suggested.  Turn the tables on them.  Call them back, ask for Habib, waste their time so that they cannot make money with scam calls to extort money from honest people who may get frightened or confused.

This same guy as mentioned in the other post left me about 8 or 9 voicemails before I called him back, when I did, I got a recording that said, you have reached ***ndi better known as mom.  What's up with this hoodlum.  I don't think this is a legit collection company but he sure the***** is giving collections a bad name.

I found out after being terrorized and threatened by these guys with Thick Indian Accents calling me day in and day out, badgering and screaming at me to send them $5000 via courier.  They are ****** and demons.  I found out this was a scam after hiring an attorney which cost me money---I should not of had to go through all this. I never sent money, I c****ed my telephone number and my bank statements, I froze my credit with the credit bureaus.  All which cost me......But they never got a dime from me, I think there should be a way to catch these people. My lawyer says all we can do for now is report them and **** up if they call a***n.

These people are TERRORIZING US CITIZENS, our government and FBI needs to do so****ing about it.

The same idiot with an Indian Accent with the name David Johnston.  Called me looking for my brother.  I did not give them any information.  And told them I will contact him myself.  These people need to be stopped.

Left a message from an Alex Ferguson claiming to meet me at the court house but does not give any information except to say I owe money.

I received beligerant irate voicemails from this guy calling himself John Conner threatening me if I didn't send him money.

I googled this number after receiving *********ic threats from a Steven Smith that calls from this number, says he's a police officer and gives out a badge number. I realized it was a fake, cause my dads a cop, cops don't call threatening folks like this. If I were a cop, I will be really ****ed at this guy impersonating me and giving me a bad na*****is dude also  has other names that he uses, Paul Hardy, John Smith, John Conner, Michael Lee.

A fool with an Indian Accent leaves me voicemails everyday stating that me or my attorney better call him back and that I'm in a lot of trouble.  Doesn't scare me a bit, I know I'm not in any trouble. Told me also that he wishes me good luck and I need to watch my back. This is a bogus extortionist.

THIS IS A SCAM.....I figured it out.  This guy is using a fake name and trying to intimidate people into sending him money.  He has a accent and says the wishes you good luck in all the mess that's coming your way.  Don't call him back and don't answer, just a scammer.

Glad I googled this number, I was scared to *****, A guy by the name of John Conner called me 4 times in one week, threatening me.  He said if I didn't send him instantly $277.00 that all he could do was wish me good luck. As time went by the calls became more threatening, and he began to scream and yell that he was trying to keep me from being jailed. I was afraid at first, then I called my sister who is a para-legal and she told me that no one goes to jail for not paying a debt but only for child support or income taxes and both of those agencies do not make telephone calls and threaten you.  I asked the guy what the $277.00 was for, and he said an old loan I had, and I asked him what type of loan and he said, fine, don't pay me, I wish you good luck, when the police come and arrest you. What a scam!

I have been receiving threatening voice mails from a John Conner telling me if I don't call him or have my attorney call him all he could do was wish me good luck, what a scammer, don't send them money, I don't owe anyone, he has a heavy Indian accent and c****es names and phone numbers, EXTORTIONIST, I'm calling the FBI, FTC, attorney general and BBB, you all need to do it to, lets stop this con--I don't think its a legitimant collection agency

Have got over 10 voicemails from this from Nigerian accent guy that yells and threatens me if i do not return his call --looked up this number on the net and found it is a SCAM and there is a group of people that have stolen your information and trying to con money from you by threatening do not send them any money its extortionis

John Conner called my home today and threatened my daughter who is 11 years old and told her to tell her mother that she had better call him or so****ing bad with happen to all of us.  My child was in tears and shaking, i called my husband and he had the number traced. John Conner is a SCAM, A CON ARTIST, do not send anyone any money from this number. He impersonates a police officer and gives a phony badge number.  DON"T fall for the scam.  Don't talk to them or send any money, do as I did, trace the number and notify the Police that a con artist is impersonating them and also, file complaints with the BBB, FTC and the attorney general. Keep his voice mails and give themto the police for evidence in a civil suit that I think will be coming about.

Just got a call at work from 732-606-4373 from a guy that can't speak English. He was ****** and rude. Told me if I didn't send money I owed that my family and I would die by night and he had my address and knew I had family.My employer called the police. Contacting the FBI and attorney general. IT's a scam for sure because I only owe the electric company.

Someone name John Smith is calling my sis in law and me threating me with legal action. I tried calling it back and there was no answer.

I have recieved 6 calls in a 2 hour span by this guy named Van Woods or so****ing close, asking for my wifes number, she was a primary suspect in a major legal sting. without any legal ID I didn't trust the guy. Its this same SCAM. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!

Received threatening voicemail from John Conner about 2 weeks ago, he didn't scare me--hey guys this cat is a FAKE a SCAMMER, the lowest con ARTIST, so don't get scared just ignore them and do not send them any money this is a scam trace their nunber and get their address and send the FBI to arrest them for impersonating Crime Prevention and police--this cat is gonna use every tactic he can to SCARE you into sending him money--send him the police instead--once they see they can't scare you they will go on to the next target.

I got a call from John Conner, claiming to be a police officer, it came from this number 732-606-4373 and its ironic but my cousin gets the same call from this same guy but different numbers and different names.  Claiming to be Steven Smith or John Conner, Henry Smith etc.,,it is a foreign guy that does not speak English well.  He leaves threatening messages and screams and yells that so****ing bad is going to happen to us and our family's if we don't call him back.  Well while sear****g the internet and talking to several people about these calls, I found out from an Attorney that this is a SCAM, and do not answer their calls or send them money.  There is an investigation and these people will be stopped. Also, if they call you, let them leave voicemails and do not erase them.  Even if they call you at work, tell your supervisor to tape the calls....DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY....they are scammers and thieves that have stolen some of your personal info and trying to extort money from you.  Well they have picked the wrong people to mess with, because there are over 50ish of us already that have joined together to stop this insanity.

I got a call saying it was very important and they got my name and number for a reference.  I called the number after seeing this site, out of curiosity and to see if I could get more info.  But all I got was "please leave a message after the tone".  So no harm done to me.  Let's see if 'they' call a***n.

Some guy called my friend stating that he worked for the Crime Prevention for Children and that I needed contact him because my kids were in danger.  She refused to tell him anything about me, and he got irrate saying that she needed to get me in touch with him to find out about my kids...idiot my kids are just fine and he had her soooo worried...

A Paul Hardey called saying he was with the Dept. of Crime Prevention and needed to speak to a friend of mine and did I have a phone number for him.  I stated no but I can try to get a message to him.  He stated my friend was in deep trouble.  Where on earth did he get my name .  I don't know this person real well but have written a couple of letters of recommendation for jobs for him.

I received a call from this number. They are threatening me  saying they can put me behind bars if I did not paid with in today. I verified with my lawyer and they told me that there will be no such case for debtors.THIS IS FAKE. DONT GIVE ANY CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD info. They have all of your info. Just try to c****e your bank information (Routing/account numbers).

i just received several calls from the "Department of Crime Prevention and Investigation" at (732) 606-4373. An "Officer" Alex Ferguson, with a supposed New Jersey badge number of 223405, called and told me that they had a legal affidavit listing my name for Federal Banking Violations a**** other things and that my local courthouse would be filing it at 1 p.m. today. He  threatened me, telling me that i'd lose my job, family and would be going to prison as well. I asked who was charging me with these crimes and "Alex"'s response was that a company called Payday Cash (which had about 700 sub-companies under it) named me in this "legal affidavit". i had him speak to a couple of bosses. after he spoke to one of the attorneys here, he hasn't called back. THIS IS A SCAM...DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO OVER THE TELEPHONE EVER!!!! I'm going to call the New Jersey PD and let them know that someone is impersonating an officer.

I get violent and beligerent calls from these people claiming to be the Dept. of Crime Prevention and Investigation.  When I asked for an address and the person to send a Cease and Dissist letter they argued with me telling me that I should be more worried about losing my job, family and going to prison for non-payment of a payday loan.
