Leave a CommentI just filled out info on the Federal Trade Commission complaint web site and for my State Attorney General Office. Thought I better take a more proactive approach as they continue to call for 2 weeks.
its a scam will not tell you the name of the company they are collecting for or send you anything in writing. wanted my debit card information.
I received my first call from this number on Monday, 11/09. So****ing about the call seemed very fishy so I googled the call back number they gave me, 954-603-5038 and got to this site. I posted a comment on that number.I had originally told them I would call them back in 24 hours to make payment arrangements (mainly just to get them off the phone as they called me at work.) When I didn't return the call on Tuesday, they called me and left a message (I didn't pick up any unknown numbers.) That is when I realized the caller ID shows 734-847-9545.They called a couple times yes****ay and a couple time today. When the voicemail kicks in they have been ****ing up without leaving messages.I have used online payday loan places, that's what they said I owed money for. But I checked all my records and do not have any outstanding or any that I didn't pay off. Hopefully with some ignoring they'll eventually go away. I'd report the call, but I'm not really sure who to report it to. Any ideas???
Hellow All:I am Special Agent Ted Wil*** a Private Investigator. The company in question is a fraud and the US Attorney General is currently prosecuting them. It appears they use an overseas call center so it will take time until these fellons can be brought to Justice. Please note that Bulletins have gone out to all state Attorney General's Offices and the Federal Trade Commission. The scam is the call unsuspecting clients telling lie's about being involved in fraudulent activities. In reality they are nothing more than a bill collector committing illegal activities.Tip: They will immediately ask you for an out of court settlement. This is your clue. If you don't cooperate, they will begin a berage of verbal harras*****t and abuse.Note: Do not give these people any information of any kind. Any legit Bill Collector will tendor their claim in writing. The Courts require a mandatory time frame of no less than 30 days for settlement before anyone can bring litigation to you. In all probability, this is a company trying to collect on old debts at cost to the original creditor for pennies on the dollar.Note: In most cases if these claims are legit, they have long since passed the statute of limitations and are legally uncollectable. Any repubtable Bill Collector knows this and won't jeopardize their business by committing illegal acts.Note: Most of the telephone numbers they use are from various states in the Midwest and East. The minute they call you outside of the calling state they are committing interstate fraud. You can trace these numbers but in most cases they are calling through an untracable cell phone. Legit Bill Collectors do not hide to collect on debts.Note: The consumer has rights. They are all spelled out in the Fair Debt Collection Act. Advise reading it. Copies are all over the internet. If these people persist in calling. **** up. Do not engage them in conversation or subject yourself to verbal abuse. Any debt that is legit will catch up to you in writing with all of the rights, remedies and code spelled out.Don't be fooled by liars and theves.Lastly, if you have available on your cell or landline blocking services, use it. It's the surest way to force them to comply with the law. Many of these services are free. Find the one that works for your phone company and cell provider.
I just got off the phone with them. I took out a payday loan last year. I took out $300 and I had been paying on it for quite some time, I do believe it was somewhere around $800 that I paid them back. I lost my job and they continued to try and hit my account, but I didn't have overdaraft protection so the bank did not allow it to go through. Now they are calling and telling me that they have pulled my criminal history and I don't have any charges a***nst me, but I need to take care of this or they will press charges a***nst me. I talked to my attorney about this, and he states in the state of Texas, if you default on a payday loan that was with a post dated check, and when they hit the account and nothing is there, it's not a criminal charge. The only way it can hurt you is to go on your credit. They are calling you to threaten you with criminal charges so that you get scared an pay the loan. They get so frustrated with you and just **** up. They are so rude and hard to understand!!! I know that I have an outstanding balance with them, and I am not refusing to pay it, it's just that I don't have the money right now bc I did lose my job, and once I get back on my feet I will be filing for bankruptcy. I didn't only get lose my job, I lost my car and defaulted on a credit card bc of being laid off. I get the max unemployment but it doesn't amount to anything I was making!!!
I RECEVIED A FEW CALLS ABOUT TAKING OUT A PAY-DAY LOAN. I NEVER DID DO THAT AND THEY WON'T STOP CALLING ME. THEY SAY I OWE $312.00.
who are these people, they mentioned to me being charged by a financial ins***ution...... I have no clue what they are talking about
