I only use my phone for emergencies and got a call from this number with a recording of a woman speaking Spanish.  I wonder if phone companies do this to rack up charges on out phones.

I missed the call, reading this I am glad I did.  Where the***** is Congress on this?

Tried returning a missed call from 734-997-8989 and got a message that this number has been disconnected. However, there is no way to identify if the "disconnect" message being played is from a Phone Company or, from the actual spamming company. The other possibility is that the Spamming company is manipulating its Caller ID.There should be a punitive law to prevent such abuse.I see that a related House Bill went to die in the senate...http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h110-251

Received a call from this number @ 2.30 AM on Aug., 27, 09; who calls at this hour in the morning????

calls and says i won a prize but never get through to a prize number out of service when i called back. receive this type of call several times a week.

received call from this # no one there. returned the call. message said # had been disconected.

734-997-8989 from Ann Arbor, MI showed up on my cell phone yes****ay (8/25/09) at 2:23pm CST here in Houston, TX and not knowing anyone at the number, I ignored it. They did not leave a message.  Out of curiousity, I called back just now (8/26/09 at 6:45pm CST) - and got a message saying it was disconnected. WEIRD. -- Because if you read the other notes posted here & other sites like this one, apparently people are STILL receiving calls from this number even AFTER it has been 'disconnected'.  WhitePages.com shows it as "unpublished" in Ann Arbor, MI.

I got a call from this number and it was a recording in Spanish. I recognized some of what it was saying and when I pressed 1 it ***g up on me. When I tried to call it back I got the recording that this number has been disconnected and is no longer in service....

said I was a rogers prefered customer and I had won a prize. They asked me to press 1 then trasfered me to thier " Prize Department" was on hold so I ***g up

Just got a call from this number..pushed 1 at the prompt, even though I couldn't understand much of what the spanish recording was saying...after pushing 1, a live spanish speaking female came on the line..when I told her not to call my number anymore, she spewed some seriously foul profanity at me and ***g up. Idiots.

I just received a call also; to my cell phone in a southern california area code.  I didn't answer, and they didn't leave a message.

Called me saying i was a reffered customer  i pressed 1 to ask where they got  my number and they ***g uyp and transferred me to an automated msg saying i was on the no call list now... they said that once already

got a call from vancouver b.c. at 4:18 pm. just ***g up. i'm a telus customer.  I get call lick this every now and then,but from different numbers. 1-734-997-8989

got al call from this number saying i was a valued telus customer and therefore had won a prize, i was instructed to press 1 to claim it, i simply ***g upthis was at 4:25 PSTi've looked at a few other sites and this number keeps popping up, but all within the last 5 or 6 hours

My grandma answered my cell and gotr the valued Rogers customer line (which  I'm not), and pressed 1.  What the***** is going to happen now?

I got the same number... and they said I was a valued Rogers customer and I ***g up because I'm not with Rogers so I automatically knew it was fake.

I got it as being a valued Rogers customer, and I won a prize. Press 1 to collect it (at which point I ***g up...)
