Got a call from this # at 7:47pm.  I answered, they identified themselves as american express and asked if I was "my name".. After I said yes and asked what the call was about the call either got cut off or he ***g up.  I called back the # and a message told me to call the # on the back of my card. I spoke to three people at AMEX who had no idea who it was. They transferred me to another department to verify some recent transactions but I grew upset and told them I wanted to know who called me and who, I even offered to give them the call # and they didn't take it.  They are useless idiots who wasted 30 minutes of my life.

AMX is terrible about violating card holder security.  It is not my first contact from a third party requesting marketing data to a third party regarding a company account.  I have even had email solicitations, and sorry fellas, but my security training is better than yours???  NO I WILL NOT RESPOND TO A REQUEST FOR ANY PI DATA FROM ANY EN***Y, THANKS.  Don't call us, we'll call you, you PI requesting, security-unconscious nit-wits.Isn't that the rule???

Received identical call numerous times.. also  do not know why.. is this a scam as questioned by others. AMERICAN EXPRESS NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM , AS ITS DOING THEM ANY GOOD.

Got a call from 757-209-2016 at 9:24am today.Didn't answer.  No message.Don't know why American Express would be calling,I don't have an account with them and never have.I don't do CCs.

I received a call from this number a couple days after I had called amex. did not answer, but was curious about the area code.

I think it might truly be Amex because I got the call after calling customer service too.

It is not a scam unless they ask you for your cc #. If you take the survey it is general questions. Friend has this system for their co and if you rate the call anything less than excell then the employee takes the hit and is held accountable for the poor score.  Score belongs to them not corp!

757-209-2016 called my cell number 8:40 pm PST.  I recently spoke to Amex and paid my bill.  I am su****ious the call was a scam.  My account is current. Why no voicemail?  Amex has left them in the past...

got a call from this same number. As the rest, did not answer. Call came July 10th,2008 @ 1:50pm Florida time.

I received a call from 757-209-2016 several days after I called American Express so at first I thought perhaps it was Cust Serv, but I didn't pick up because it was a 757 number.  I'm curious.  Anyone else call American Exp previous to receiving the call.  If it is a scam, all they need is the confirmation that it is you when you answer.

Thanks for the info about Sprint and the survey for Amex.  I have my numbers on the do not call list, but it takes about a month to kick in.

I received a call from this number.  No message, though.I went on the "dogpile" search engine and found out this is a Sprint number registered in Williamsburg, VA.  Does that help anyone?
