These people are always calling me and they are very rude and thought less, they are a collection agency who will call you illegally. They are criminals with no education. If thry call you **** up on them.

They called and I looked them up.  I can tell they are a collection agency, so I called them back to give them my ex husband's current name and number since I know it's him they're looking for and not me.  Everytime I call them and go through the automated voice response unit they **** up on me.  Could never get a live person.

keep getting these calls, sick of it after months...just typed in their number and see the other complaints....i have answered and no one to talk to me.....it is not our name that they are saying....how did they get our number?  how do we stop this?

Keep etting calls everyday from the number.  They never leave a message, they just **** up  when you pick up.  Stop calling me.

Received 2 calls 4/12, 1 on 4/14, 1 on 4/15, 2 on 4/16, 1 on 4/17, 1 on 4/22. No one there when I answered one of the calls. No msgs left. Sear****g on the area code indicates it is from Norfolk Va region.

I just received a phone call from this number about 5 minutes ago. I didn't answer it. Then, I received a voicemail. When I called my voicemail it just left a beeping sound. I quick ***g up because it was using up my minutes. I searched this number and found this site. I am going to put them on my state's do not call list.

been getting calls from this number , have no idea what , or who this is, first few times I answered the party ***g up, like it is some kind of auto-dialer, pretty sure that is illegal in this state (South Carolina ) need to get a response or will contact the State Investigators, or possibly the FBI since the area code is out of state. This sounds like a racket and probably falls under the R.I.C.O act a***nst organized crime. I googled this number and MANY people are upset about it.

Same thing with me. No one answers the phone when I pick it up and when I call them back it goes to answering ma****e. No one picks up the phone

I too get calls from this number to my cell...uses up my cell minutes and sometimes no on speaks when I answer, then at times the caller asks for a wild name?...ALL of us should keep contacting the FCC, et al, and tell them about our experience with calls from 757-321-6278, which looks to be from Norfork, Va., carried by/via *** Telecom., and have the FCC, FTC, *** Telecom, your Congressman, etc., shut this number/caller down!!!

These people have been calling me for over two weeks.  I do not answer and they leave message saying they are Anchor Recovery Mgmt regarding an outstanding debt.  No idea what they want.

I too receive these calls 2-3 times per day. I answered a couple times and they asked for "Butch", I told them they have the wrong number.  They continue to call me everyday anyway.  I don't answer their calls anymore.  They leave no messages.  I am so annoyed.  I don't want to c****e my number a***n because I may have the same problem with that number.  I will definitely report them to the National Do Not Call Registry.

This type of phone abuse needs to be stopped!  I get numerous calls from this "company" each day.  They never leave a message and if I answer, ***ody responds (ma****e) OR if I call back, it just rings and rings.  Please report this company!!!

Got a call just now, Caller ID said Portfolio recovery. It was an automated caller, and asked for someone similiar to my name, I pressed one to acknowledge I was that person (since I had no idea what this was about) and then it asked for my last 4 of my social. I put in 0000. It then said to call Anchor Receivables Management at 866-879-2116. I reported both numbers to the do not call list

For 2 years I keep receiving these phone calls.  I actually googled the company and found a local phone number.  I called and it was about a person who owed money--not me.  I explained that the number they're calling is mine, not the other person's.  The lady was very nice and although she couldn't help me because it was the weekend and that dept was off on weekends she told me who to call.  Then, the calls stopped for about 2 months until today.  They're back!

I get calls daily on my cell from this company asking for someone I don't know; they're always voicemails and I don't keep my cell "on" so I don't hear them until way after they've called. I think that there are many people out there who "know" about how to use phone numbers to get "credit." They verify that someone's cell phone number is "real" and then they give a fake name to get credit. I wouldn't be surprised if it's someone who WORKS for this collection agency because they'd be the most likely people who have access to cell phone numbers!

This number is dialing me asking for someone that doesn't live in my household.  I want it to stop immediately

Got the same issue everyone else has. I called the number back and left an angry message asking them to stop calling. I also went to the FTC's website and filed a complaint.

Calls my number and never says anything, I am on the national do not call list and will be reporting them.

They've called my number several times over the past couple of weeks.  There's never anyone at the other end - only dead air.  One day, I called them & discovered that they were looking for my husband's nephew.  My husband informed his brother who discovered web sites such as this one.  He called & told them not to contact us anymore.  He also filed a complaint with the feds.

I am getting phone calls from this number several times a week and everytime there is no message and if I answer there is never anybody there. They have also call from number 757-321-6270

I believe this is "Portfolio Recovery".  They call from a 757-321-6270 number as well.

Called my cell phone at 8 in the morning.  I did not answer and they left no messages.

After reading these forums and seeing a continued pattern of abuse for this company and their phone number, I decided to call them back -- naturally, no one answered, but I did get a ma****e. On the ma****e, I left this short message: This is *******-**** (only gave phone number, not my name in case they are phishing). I have received repeated calls and ****-ups from your telephone number. The number you are calling is on the National Do Not Call Registry (donotcall.gov). Please either call and state your purpose in calling, or do not call this number. If you call a***n and either ****-up or do not leave a message, I will report you to both the Attoney General and the National Do Not Call Registry. Once a***n, this is *******-****. Should you call, please inform me of your purpose, or I will notify the National Do Not Call Registry and the Attoney General that you are in repeated violations of Federal statues. Please remove my number from your telephone list if you have no valid purpose for calling me. Thank you.

Same here. Calls about every 2-3 days, drops the call. Not sure why they're calling, but am concerned about it being scam... particularly given other people's concerns above. I don't live in the 757 area code and don't know anyone there, so it's definitely someone phishing for victims. The FCC or someone should investigate this number.

caller asks if I am Francoise, then asks for the last four numbers of my Social Security number to verify my account.
