Leave a CommentI had this exact conversation with a "George Miller and a Sandy Thompson (phone 408-6890448).He told me I would be served a pepensa (sp?) today! Aftwer reading all of these comments I am not worried about that anymore!
I recieved a call from a alex roger claiming to be an attornery, and I said I owed 1200.00 for a 300 loan I took out and did not finish paying back, he said he needed the name and number of my attorney, that I would loose my job in an hour and would be in court on thursday. I am checking into filling charges a***nst this person for misrepresentation, he is not an attorney because I checked the attorneys for california.
A man named Frank Jefferson called me from Jefferson and Davenport and****ociates law firm telling me i was being sued and that the conversation was being recorded. When i asked what i was being sued about he said that he was pulling the paper work to tell me but first i needed to verify my social security which he then read off to me but i verified nothing. when i asked him a***n to tell me what this was about the phone disconnected. this happen 2 or 3 more times then he finally gave me his phone number and asked me to call him back at 760-514-0150 i am very worried because he has my social!!!
I received the same call, same names, different number 760-514-0151. All the same bull, very foul language. I am going to do the same and report them
Received a call from a Stephanie Ortiz saying I needed to call her ASAP and if I ignored the calls, all she could say was God Bless You. So, this morning I answered the call and she then transfered me to a "Senior Attorney" who told me his name was Frank Jefferson (how does a camel ****ey have an American name?!?) and was very bossy and rude. Told me about a loan I supposedly too out with InstaCash, never heard of them. However, he did have all of my personal information, ss#, employer, bank, etc. He then told me the attorney in charge was Alexander Davenport and I told him I wanted to speak with him. He claimed he was Mr. Davenport"s****istant (after I was told he was a "Senior Attorney") and he said he was handling the case for Mr. Davenport until we went to Court because he was a very busy and expensive attorney. WHATEVER!!! I work for attorneys and told him, that's odd, our attorneys always speak to their clients. His comment was, "we must do things different in Texas".!!! LOL!!! I was told to contact them back or have my attorney call as soon as possible as they will be suing me for 3 different charges and the number given was 310-974-8958. FRAUD OR WHAT?!?
I recieved a call from a 760 # (760-514-0124) while at home and at work, although the number did not register on the phone as the given number. The number on my caller ID was only 9 digits and was not located on a phone registry. Each time the caller (Andy someone) was hard to hear, and did not answer questions. They repeatedly asked for me and would not answer who they were. I then had a voicemail from them claiming that I or an attorney needed to contact them URGENTLY. They said it was a time sensitive matter and that I had to contact them. They ended it by saying that if I did not call back or did not have an attorney call they wished me the best of luck in the unfolding situation. I found this site after the calls, and am thankful that I found it prior to talking to them. They were very rude and raised their voice numerous times. Thank you for all your added information becuase it made me feel much better knowing what to expect.
Im glad I looked this number up and found your comments. It only confirms what I figured. They are a SCAM!! BEWARE! On Monday, March 1, 20010, I received a voice mail on my cell phone from a camel ****ey named Nathan Brooks representing a law firm. He left a threatening message stating that myself or my attorney needs to call them right away or else. Curious about who it was all about, I called the number only to talk to another camel ****ey with an american name Michael Carter and another named Eric Johnson. I got the runaround when I asked for Nathan Brooks and disconnected multiple times. From what I could understand from their accent, I was being sued from ThinkCash and read me my rights and I had a court date on March 8 for bank and check fraud. When I questioned them about details of their firm, I was disconnected. They left me alone after I raised my voice, they didn't like it and ***g up. The whole thing is pitaful to say the least. I hope no one falls for this scam in the mean time, I will be reporting them to the attorney general. It's unsettling to wonder how they got my name, phone number, and name of my bank.
I received the same call from Alexander Davenport and filed complaints with the Attorney General in Colorado and California since it sounds like a scam. Rotten S***bags!
I received calls from this number threatening to take me to court for money that was owed and not paid. The man I talked to on the other end would not provide any information on who the money was owed to or the dates of the transaction. He stated that if I needed information it could not be settled out of court and the information would be on the paperwork. I stated that if it was legiitmate I wanted to pay any outstanding debt and just wanted clarification. He would not give any information and ***g up on me. Sounds like a legitimate law firm?
I recv. the same message 3 different times in the last 2 days. 7608601565. Unable to locate any known business or information****ociated with this number. Person id themselvs as Rose Johnson and no other information.
Also, be sure to report the scam to the FTC and to your state Attorney General. Here's the link to the FTC report site : https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en#last
received the same call at my place of employment. i am the receptionist and the message was for a "***e Nelson" whom i've never heard of and certainly doesn't work at our company. they left a message though saying she was to call right away. the caller named himself Alex Watson. i thought i'd research the # on the internet and see what came up. i have no intention of calling and based on what i see here it definitely looks to be a scam designed to get people's credit card info. i hope no one falls for it!
I received a call tonight and they left the same message, "do not avoid this call". I called back and received a lot of at***ude from "Stan Smith" who was clearly not from this country. According to this man there will be an investigator at my house tomorrow and I should turn myself. Since I never got any money from this or any other company I will be sure to head straight to the police station tomorrow to report them instead.
I recieved a call from this infamous Alexander Brown as well, definitely a scam. I've reported them to the attorney general, federal trade commission, and the MN fraud investigative team. I reccomend you guys do it too!
I received this same call yes****ay at work. I asked them to give me a # so I could call them back. It was this same 760 #. They told me I had defaulted on a payday loan, but that the company was willing to settle out of court if I gave them my credit card and other info so that they could debit my account $945.00 by the end of the day, otherwise they would be showing up and serving me with papers. They were yelling at me and had me in tears! I knew that I hadn't defaulted on any loans. I'm so glad someone alerted me about this scam before I actuall did what they told me to do!
I received the same call from Alexander Davenport, stating i borrowed money as well and I had a court date set for March 3 as well. They call me early in the morning, at my work, etc. I told him he was crazy and he said i was going to court. I said do what you have to do and I would report them to the police.
Can't believe the nerve. Rec'd the same call better not ignore, needed my attorney on record. Said I had a court date in supreme court in California on March 3. Said I borrowed money from Instacash in 10/09 on internet and was being sued for bank fraud. I never borrowed money over the internet, but what bothered me is that had my bank name and account number. I called back and spoke to this person that sounded indian but name was Alexander Davenport. I asked him how they got my bank info he ***g up on me. I called right back spoke with another guy asked for supervisor said they had no supervisors but they were a law firm. Told him about Alexander ****ing up on me and I was reporting them ot AG.He said do what I had to but I still needed to go to court.
I reported and registered this number on the do not call registry, so just keep reporting these low lifes.
I rec'd the same call from the same no. too!I ended up calling them and harassing them over and over a***n. i told them that i was going to call the police and report them to the authorities too. the arabic people on the other end kept yelling and screaming at me and thats when I knew they were full of s**t.
