This number called my place of work. I answered with my place of work's name which are the call letters of a TV station. They ***g up on me. I wouldn't do business with anyone who calls from this phone. It cannot be legitimate business if they are scared of a TV station.
credit card scammer
asked for my credit info. looked there number on app and saw the comments. caller ***g up
I got a call from 760-956-5819 this morning, from Hersperia, CA, regarding my credit card, that there was no issue with my credit card but offering to lower the interest rate to 6.9%; to push 1 to chat with a rep or 2 to disconnect. I pushed 1 and got a rep with a very heavy hispanic/indian accent. I told her I got this call regarding my credit card but I didn't have any credit cards, so wanted to speak with the person responsible for these disruptive random calls, the person that does not check in reality if you have a credit card or not...they just set the dialer to random and you get the message if you pick up. She immediately ***g up. I tried to dial back, but the message now says: "sorry, all circuits are busy, please call back". This is spam by all certainty, and I have noted this on the do not call list and spam listing.
This morning I received a call from someone at 760-956-5819 in Hersperia, CA (possibly Victorville, CA) offering to lower the interest rate on my credit cards to 6.9%. The call began with a recording and I pressed 1 to move to the next step, where a gentleman asked for my expiration date on my credit card. I asked which credit card. At first he said Visa, but I said I only have a Visa debit card. Then he said my MasterCard. I told him the expiration was March 2015, then he asked for my credit card number. I told him I wasn't comfortable giving him that information, and he****ured me they couldn't misuse my credit card without the security number on the back, which I'm pretty sure was a lie. Then he asked for just the last four digits of my credit card number, which I gave him, but when he asked for the middle eight, I told him no. With the last four and the middle eight and knowing it's a MasterCard, he'd have the whole number! He kept trying to reassure me, but I wasn't reassured. I wished him a good day and ***g up. A few minutes later, he called me back and kept pushing, saying he was trying to help me. I told him I understood all he'd said: it's all secure, I'm protected, not to worry, blah blah blah, and I****ured him that I had heard him, but I was not reassured and was saying goodbye now. I ***g up a***n. I wanted to report this to someone and a friend suggested contacting the credit card company. So there you have it.
