April 22, 2011, and this guy is still at it. Just got taken at the corner of Jackson and Peoria. Figured as much I was giving the money, but thought I'd rather not be su****ious. Guess I'll think better next time. This time his name was John Middleton. Just watch out. Hope he reads this.

This guy is still at it.  He got me on March 11, 2011.  Exact same story as above.

How are they getting cell numbers?

We got scammed too.  Completely agree with Tony;this do***e bag scammed us. He comes out of nowhere and leaves pretty quickly. Look out around Sears tower. Same guy, white, 30s, beige suit, w ****py black s***s, suitcase, probably holding a newspaper. Said his car was towed w his wallet including ID and money left in car. Becuase it was in his car, he needed ID to get in but becuase of a Catch 22 situation, he needed money to go to his house in suburbs, Oakbrook, to get passport or military ID. Gave us collat****, his office keys, and call my cellphone just to verify he would call us later that night. Never heard from him. Once we got back home we googled the number and verifed our original thoughts. Everything seemed a bit weird from the very beginning but becuase we are nice people we gave him money for Metra and taxi from Metra to house, round trip. We lost our money, but good thing it wasn't much. Just look out for this guy. We got scammed.

I ran into this scam artist and got *****ed im looking for come uppins

This person is the best scam artist I have seen on the streets of Chicago. He takes advantage of people with any sense of sympathy of trying to help people out in a tough situation and then steals money. He is a white male likely in his 30's, dark hair, very nicely dressed.  He pretends to be a business man in need to money for a taxi and offers to pay you back double the amount. He carries luggage/brief case. He then calls you with his phone (this number) so you have his phone number.  The most convincing scam artist I have run across in Chicago.
