Leave a CommentSame story here - stolen laptop, call from a "trucker" in chicago who bought it in a parking lot here. willing to ship if i sent him the money western union. Larry Banks.
My friend had her car broken into, and posted flyers asking for information, return, reward. Larry Cooper, (773) 263-0006, middle aged African American male, smoker's rasp, claimed to be a long distance truck driver. Said he purchased said items for $250.00, felt "funny" about it, and called. Said he was willing to ship via UPS, shipping costs for $56.00, as long as we Western Union'd him the money ($300) immediately. He asked for my friend's home and work addresses to ship the items to, and that's when I stepped in(she doesn't need to be robbed a***n). I told her to have him to ship it to the police department where she filed her report; he became irate, and ***g up on her.We called him back, and I got on the phone. He refused to talk to me, saying I had a different last name (we told him I was her sister). I told him I was married, which seemed to settle him, but he still continued to badger about "gettin' his money" and that if I "loved my sister, you'd (me) pay the money myself..."When I asked him to just take the items to his local police department, he yelled "f*** you, I ain't gettin' arrested, walkin' in there with stolen items".I got him to calm down, and asked him to go to a UPS store. He said he was already there; when I asked which one, his response was, "***** that, I ain't tellin' you, you'll just send the cops."When I asked him if the UPS store he claimed he was at would take Western Union, he yelled loudly - to an entirely silent background - and then responded, no, they don't, but it's okay, if I send it to any Western Union, he could pick it up at the grocery store down the street. He stated that on the Western Union transfer paperwork, on the secret/privacy question that I should write, "what is mother's name", and the correct answer was "Linda" (clarified with an "i" and not a "y").He stated that he only had 20 minutes, that his boss was getting mad, and that he couldn't wait all day. He was very belligerant, yelling that he wasn't going to be the victim here, that my friend had lost her stuff, and here he was having to do all this stuff, pay all this money, take all this time, and we weren't faster on the Western Union. There have since be 7 phone calls in less than 30 minutes as he tries to get his money. The minute I heard him on the phone, I knew he was a fraud based on his behavior, his actions. However, he's good enough that my friend was sobbing, please, just give me my stuff back, I promise you I'll give you the money. He was absolutely rude, belligerent, and bullying. Had I not gotten on the phone, she would have given him her debit/credit/or other financial information just to get her belongings back - which we know would never have come. His phone traces back to Lawndale, Chicago, Illinois, and we've also notified our home department here to get a detective on this ****. If you're willing to****ist, please email [email protected] will be a good thing to stop this guy. Thanks!Kimberly Kelly
Re: "Larry Cooper"773-991-8667Oh yeah, I forgot to mention in my previous post, "Larry" wanted me to wire him money ASAP on Western Union.....what a complete and utter dirtbag.I asked the local police for****istance, they were of absolutely no help whatsoever.
773-991-8667"Larry Cooper"I posted a reward on Craig's List for my stolen laptop. I recvd a telephone call from "Larry Cooper".....claiming he was a long-haul trucker, and that he bought my laptop from some punk kids in a Wal-Mart parking lot.I traced the 773-991-8667 mobile, and at that time (June 2008) it was registered to a Rolanda Wilhite in Chicago, IL. I discovered that she worked for a bank, so I traced her and called her. She was very very evasive, claimed she knew nothing about the cell phone, and disavowed any knowledge of anyone named "Larry Cooper."Oddly enough, moments after speaking with Miss Wilhite, I recvd an anonymous telephone call from a gentleman claiming to be from "US Homeland Security," threatening me with investigation. When I laughed and belittled him for his glaringly evident lack of education, third grade vocabulary, and nonsense bu***hit, he ***g up.
Same Story...This loser called said someone sold him my camera equipment from the wedding site from which it was stolen... posted on Craig's List. This fool is commiting Larceny!
He ripped us off for $100. Same type of thing, said he found our stuff that we posted on craigslist.
LARRY CALLED AND SAID HE WAS A LONG DISTANT TRUCK DRIVER WHO FOUND THE TOOL BOX I LOST ON RT 1 IN VA. SAID HE WOULD CALL BACK IN 10 MIN.,ITS BEEN A WEEK. NEVER ASKED FOR MONEY
Larry erickson is what this guy is claiming his name is. he told me he was a trucker and bought my ring from someone in my apartments. he got most of the information about the ring and where and what happened from my lost and found posting on craigslist. Do not trust this guy it's terrifying to know there are heartless people out there that woud prey upon innocent people who are missing valuable posessions
Same thing called and said he had my stolen ring and to send him western union so he could mail back to me. He got the info off Craigs list
I got scammed from this number.... He said he was a trucker and found my watch that i had listed on craigslist.. so he knew my phone number and some of the descriptions... dont get fooled by him.
