I just received a call from this number. . ..said they have an application for a cash advance. I called it back after receiving a voicemail message. They want to deposit the money in my account within 24 hours. That means I would have to give them my account number. Well, I didn't come down with yes****ay's rain! I tried to pin them down and ask for a name of the person who applied for a cash advance. . couldn't tell me. "Sorry for the inconvenience". I said so this is a "scam" right? Chuckle. . . "No maam".
I don't know who is this.
Wanted to verify my recent cash advance loan application - I've never submitted any such thing. Told them not to call a***n.
calling to deposit $ in my bank account and to call back to
I just received a call like those above, where the caller ***g up as soon as I answered.
Same as Amy and Dana above. They called my wife's cell phone and asked for me. I called the number back and they had enough of a system to look me up in their "records" from my wife's cell number. I fished for as many details as I could -- all I could get out of him was the company name "Loan Verifification", they're (allegedly) in Las Vegas NV, they couldn't tell me which vendor I had "applied for a loan" from (but it was for a cash advance and I had applied online), and that the application was incomplete. The e-mail address I had supposedly put on this application was bogus, but it was my name (@secglobal.com), a domain that doesn't appear to be in use.I told them this was clearly fraud, and he offered to "put me on the do-not-call list". (Rather than, oh I don't know, connecting me to their fraud department.)
I received a cell phone call today like the one described by Dana. I don't think I have applied for a lone since I purchased our home some 20+ years ago. I ***g up when they said to press 0 to clarify some details on my application.
They called requesting information to deposit loan proceeds to my bank account. i havent applied for any lons in years! When I questioned what financial ins***ution they represented they got short with me *** ***g up. PHISHING!!!
They called to verify loan info. I havent applied for any loans in 10 years! They had my cell number and when I pressured them for who they were they got very brief said they would put me on their do not call list and ***g up. I believe they are Phishing! Beware!
Just recieved a phone call, but did not answer
Pushed "0" and got "Jim" who said Mr. Ellis must have put another wrong number on his application. Jim said he would put me on the no call list. Right! Probably dumped a virus or trojan horse into my Blackberry!
Received a call on my cell phone to verify info for a cash advance. They had my name, address and incorrect e-mail address. They stated this was an online submittal that they were following up on.
