I'm in this pattern also for the past year with cedar puyblishing.  I'm a contractor and told them twice that I never approved nothing on this ad.. I'll like to have info from you what I can do to stop this Moe.. + they told me that if I don't pay the invoice they will send my none payment to credit bureau to have a bad score.. this is bu***hit.. Doug,You are an idoit! If you did any research into what this magazine we are talking about your mouth would close. Theis company is full of S(&%!! Take a look online as to how many claims a***nst them they have. Take a look as to the reviews this companyy has a***nst them. If you ran a legit business you would not have more than 50 complaints in 1 year on the Better Business Buerau of Edmonton.Take a look Doug.

Ha! Beez Pleez? Or should I call you Moe?!! This company is sooo corrupt, sooo disgusting and sooo outright unlawful, it makes me sick as a responsible, HONEST business owner. All these stories have happened to myself, my wife and our business over the past 3 years from Cedar Publishing. I have refused to pay these "outstanding invoices" because I never agreed to them in the first place, and they continue to call.

Yes Edmontonians was bought. I dont need to look into anything. I know first hand. You get your facts straight...a business that has been operating for 12 years is still making a profit with many clients who renew annually. Law suit IS done. Holy get a life. Mabe you need to focus your energy elsewhere rather than what Cedar is doing.

BeezPleez: what you say about the lawsuit not being won, of course it hasn't. It is still in the court system.And no one is talking about the value of doing all one can about finding missing kids. You are missing the point. The point is that this organization uses dubious business practices. So dubious that they are being taken to court about them. And if you research more you will find this organization makes a habit of fraudulent activity.This company has tried scamming my wife's business. They say they have contracts with people/businesses which are based on recordings, which they are never able to send to anyone for some reason. I have talked to a lawyer who said they can record whatever they want BUT they have to inform the person that they are being recorded.I also contacted the Ca***ian Government's Compe***ion Bureau who indicated that this matter "requires further examination under the laws we enforce." I would encourage anyone with issues with Cedar to contact the Compe***ion Bureau and lodge a complaint. The more they get the more evidence they will have a***nst this company. Their toll-free phone number is 1-800-348-5358.This type of company regularly targets small  and medium sized business and try to pressure them into paying for things they don't want. That is fraud.As a point of clarification with respect to Alberta's Fair Trading Act, I talked to a consumer representative at Service Alberta (the provincial ministry that is responsible for it). They indicated that the Fair Trading Act deals with businesses selling to individuals, not businesses. Cedar is not, but was affiliated with Child Find. Cedar puts out a magazine with photos of kids missing all over Ca***a. In order to send these Magazines out for free, they need the help of adverti*****ts. Why is this so hard to understand? Maybe pick one up and read it. Holy Man...focus your anger elsewhere...Pictures of missing kids out in the communities free is a GOOD thing.

Did you know that Crimestoppers has a warning out regarding fraudulant activities by Cedar Publishing?I would think that you are affiliated with this Moe idiot. But....On the chance that you are not, I can tell you this... Cedar publishing puts out a child find magazine that has nothing to do with child find ca***a.You may infact support the efforts of Child Find Ca***a.... But the money you send to cedar publishing goes directly to Moe! the owner of cedar publishing. Do your due diligence and research Cedar publishing.       We are s****ing a legal motion a***nst Cedar publishing here in Ottawa as well ... and we are getting more and more people from all over Ca***a coming on board weekly.

Check out Crime Stoppers, they cite Cedar directly, and mention the Fair trade act by which they require written authorization. Trust me I have had harassing sales calls that have lasted up to 10 minutes as registered on my cell (and consequently my cell bill) trying to deny taking the ads. Over the past 3 years I have been billed over $3k, all of which I had paid until recently, when they sent me invoices for a company I closed out more than a year before the ad was ok'd. At this point I laughed, requested my proof of authorization for that ad (which they do not have, Duh!) and began to go over my files for the last 3 years. (I c****ed company names do to an expansion in services offered and the onset of partners). At any rate, there is at least $1000 of unverified ads I have paid without question, and now the two I know for a fact are bogus will lend support to a report I will be sending in to BBB.

These people keep calling, and calling, and will not remove my name from their list!! They are a nuisence, plain and simple. They record your call. They pressure, and pressure, and even use tactics like a female acting like **********. I do not want their "advertising" and WISH for them NOT TO CALL still, they continue to call. Now they have "billed" me, accusing me of the "ad I bought" - which I did not. This is nothing more than a forced donation. They operate under different organizational names. The fight continues.

Have had two messages from this company, neither of them detailing what they were calling about.  Searched Cedar Publishing on the Better Business Bureau, and they have 33 complaints (plus all the complaints on sites like this).  I'd suggest doing what I did, which is leave a message indicating you want your number permanently removed from their call lists, or blocking the number.  What a great thing the internet is!

Do not agree to any kind of "fax" from this company as they accept their faxed copy as your approval for payment.  We have been receiving these faxed proofs for years without asking and everytime they charge us $209.00.  I can't imagine getting any business out of a crimestoppers magazine.  Be careful when you speak to these people as they will take any discussion as a "yes" to send you a bill.  On contacting them, a very crude man spoke to me on behalf of the Police Magazine.  When telling him that we did not want to place an ad at this time, he accused me of being unprofessional and told me someone at my office had approved it and that we better get a lawyer to fight it.  Sorry excuse for a business.  Do not answer this call.

Same as above.  I had received a call.  Gave my fax number for more information, and now am being told that I agreed to the ad and that I will be receiving a bill.  I did not agree.  I did not sign anything.  I wanted more information.  Can't find anything about the actual magazines anywhere.

Total Scam.  Doug--it is so obvious that you have some****ociation with this company.  I received a fax out of the blue and so called the company because I did not wish to run ad (or can afford to no***ays) and I was told that someone had said yes to it and that it was irrevokable.  All the information on the ad was also wrong as we had moved.  By the end of the phone call, the incredibly rude man had pushed me to tears--telling me to get a lawyer if I don't pay the bill and calling me unprofessional.  This company is pure BS. ALSO, had to nerve to call us A***N after having made me cry twice on the phone about placing another ad.

actually I checked and they are the only licensed company in ca***a to produce the child find newsmagazine. I guess there is a real telemarketing company out there with good intentions

Its actually a great magazine. I own a landscaping company and paid my bill. I guess if you paid your bill you wouldnt have heard from them. They publish the Child find newsmagazine which Im a great supporter of
