They called me about my ex's card (who hasn't lived here in 7yrs - I kept the house and phone), and I was deeply su****ious, particularly after reading these posts. Still, I relayed the info anyway but said to call the number on the back of her card, whatever that was. Apparently someone 500mi away had run up $500 on it.
This number is legit. They called in on 781-655-2000. I didn't answer and they left 888-910-2500 to call back. Be prepared that they ask for your credit card number.I had cc fraud on my card from Australia. If you are still not sure of calling them back at that number, pull out your bank statement for the account and call the number on that sheet. They will verify.
They called me right after I used my debit card to buy so****ing over the internet. I didn't pick up, and i googled the number and i got to this fourm. They left a message and i listened to it. They said it was from my bank and that needed to ask questions about my account about some recent purchases and that my account would be frozen until i do so. It's a scam.
This is a total scam so don't fall for it. They are social engineering scammers who have a small bit of your personal information, but they're phishing for more information. They hack the CallerID to make the call look as legitimate as possible. They even search message boards like this trying to legitimize their phony scam. That is why you see posts that negate the honest people declaring it a scam. Get a life you lousy scammers!
Got a call from this number, identified as 'CFG' on the caller ID, and was told my account was compromised and now locked. Called the number back and got 'retirement services' voice mail, and got a little worried. Called the customer service number on the back of my card, and verified what I was told... If you get a call from this number and feel uncomfortable speaking with them, I suggest you end the call politely and try calling the number on the back of your card to verify.
I got a call from this number and didn't answer. When I called back it went straight to a recorded message and it claimed it is from Retirement Services.
I just got the same call someone in Denmark was trying to use my charter one card to make a purchase for over $1000. since I work in retail I didn't have a grand in the bank, so it was denied. If you get the call, return it ASAP!
This is a perfectly valid number for the CharterOne Fraud Alert, also. I verified with the bank by using the phone number on the back of my card. This is a phone call you want to return....
781-655-2000 is Citizens Bank Fraud Alert unit. I verified it after receiving a call from that number. Don't ignore calls from them. If they called you it's because they noticed su****ious activity on your card. If you don't want to give the caller you birth date, etc. then tell them so and then immediately call the number on the back of your ATM card. they probably will tell you that you had been called, and then you can get details about the su****ious card activity.
This caller keeps calling me and has been calling for the last 3hours because I ***g up and told them they have the wrong number. Im at work as they contuinuously callllll. Fraud company and when you call back it states that its for a retirment company
