(786) 209-0538

February 8, 2017. At 9:55am Pacific, I received a cell phone vmail from the number 786.209.0538 (Florida). It stated that I was being sued and the message was electronic. I did a phone number check with this site and found that the alleged owner of the number is AIU Online. I called back and a man with a heavy East Indian accent answered the phone. I asked why AIU would call me about a legal issue. He said, what number did you dial. That's not our number. He stated that local police would be at my front door today to arrest me. I have seen and heard this scam recorded over the Web a while back and told the man that I would not fall for this scam. See, they are trying to get money out of the victim so as not to be arrested. Since I am an United States Marshal with the DoJ, this act was indeed a felony. Don't fall for this scam.
