Some of you need to seriously calm down. It is Chase calling you and it is not a scam. These are routine calls made after you have contacted them. You can certainly choose to only call the number on the back of your card to contact them but this is a legit number to call back too. In the meantime, relax folks, no one is out to get you.
They called me and I don't even have a Chase account.
This is legit. It is from Chase. All good folks.
I also received this call after informing Chase we would be doing some travel. I, too, was su****ious about calling a number that isn't the number on the back of my card, so I called the customer service number from my card. According to the CS agent I spoke to, this call is legitimately from Chase and they do get a lot of people who are reticent to call a number that isn't the number from their card. I was transferred (on the call that I originated to the number on my card) to their security department who confirmed that they needed to verify my upcoming travel to make sure we would be able to use our card without it being flagged for fraud. If you get a call from this number after you inform Chase you will be traveling, it is almost certainly legit...HOWEVER...I still recommend calling the number on your card, pressing 0, and then asking to be transferred to the security department and confirming your travel that way. No reason not to err on the side of caution.
Received a call from this number after securely emailing Chase regarding some future travel. I have already received email acknowledgement from Chase regarding my email so I am positive this is a scam call. Never call any number other than the number on the back of your card!
Called saying that they were verifying su****ious card activity. Called Chase. They are NOT CHASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DO NOT give out any personal information!!!!
I got this call the day after I had used Chase's automated phone system to inform them of an upcoming trip. I called Chase at the phone number on the back of my credit card and they stated that this was not a Chase phone number and was a SCAM. I found the timing of receiving the call very curious. I made the original call on my mobile phone and make no other request in any manner to Chase.
I received an automated call from this number (with a generated voice). The voicemail claimed it was Chase Bank and they wanted to verify that I had called them regarding my Chase Visa. They wanted to verify future travel plans, and requested I use a specific reference number and have my account number ready when I call back. This is pretty clearly a fraudulent call - 1) I have a Chase Mastercard, not a Visa and 2) I use the number they called pretty much exclusively for spam (whenever I need to give out a number to an organization I don't trust). I strongly advise that you do NOT call this number back and do NOT provide them with your credit card account number. If anyone is truly uncertain of the authenticity of this call, they should call Chase bank directly.
it's chase bank security making sure we submitted an email to them stating that we would be traveling and using our chase visa.
Got a call to verifiy upcoming travel plans from this number. It was prerecorded with a reference number, and they new my credit card company.
We got a missed call from this number at 6:50 am. Apparently we were sleeping and didn't hear the cellphone.
