Leave a CommentSeems like a scam they left a message about fraudulent activity on my debit card, except that I barely use my debit card and I work from home so I didn’t call back because there are been no large purchases on my account in months
This is actually PNC. Since I checked this page and saw everyone saying it was a scam, I did not call them back. ...So my debit card got locked due to what they deemed su****ious activity and a bunch of my automatic payments didn't go through and I had a whole lot of stress to deal with. THIS IS PNC.
This caller claimed to be from PNC Loss Prevention. I let it ring to voicemail since it came through as a name I didn't recognize (Tanazja S Johnson) and listened to the voicemail later. It claimed to be PNC Loss Prevention calling about possible fraudulent charges on my card. I called my local PNC ***nch and they said this was spam, as neither they nor I could find fraudulent activity.
Said my debit card with last for digits ---- possible had been compromised and asked me to call.
Called and left a message and fake callback number supposedly related to fraudulent activity on my account. Called the real PNC and they verified that it was a scam and that the caller had apparently tried to process a transaction using my card number (which was declined by PNC).
Fraudulent activity on my account. I confirmed with PNC this is NOT a PNC number and it is a phishing call. There was a charge that was fraud, but they use this as a tactic to steal money from your account. My friend had it happen and they stole $1,000.
This is a robocall scam, don’t give them your information! Call your bank directly using number on back of your card.
Said they were pnc about a charge That was made then I called pnc they said it’s a spam call
they called asking me to verify a purchase. but the thing that tipped me off that it was fishy was that they called my /parents'/ number that hasnt been****ociated to my card since i was 17, and asked for me. i also have never had pnc call me before, i always call them if i need****istance. been that way ever since i got my card. playing it safe and****uming its spam
PNC Bank Fraud Protection
Claims to leave an important msg about my extended warranty
It's pnc, legit. Calling about purchases I made online that declined, since it was overseas they thought that my stuff had been stolen and this call was to reaffirm everything
This is PNC loss prevention we see there are su****ious activity on your card
Call was legit
Possible fraudulent use of card
Not a spam call. Pnc calling about declined payments which i made but did not go through.
Automated message claimed to be PNC bank calling about su****ious activity on my debit card. They had my name, phone number and correct last 4 digits of my card.
PNC Card Loss Prevention
calling to tell me some su****ious activity was found on my pnc bank account. At the time $499.00 was withdrawn on account but it disappeared and my account now is ok
Not a spam call. It was calling to verify my recent banking activity as I had declined charges from an online merchant.
Called about su****ious activity on my visa debit card account with pnc. This is confirmed correct.
Not a spammer/scammer. I had called PNC (1-888-PNC-BANK) under the****umption this number was a scammer and the staff affirmed that this was one of PNC's numbers. People saying this is a scam are entirely wrong.
Claimed to be PNC card loss prevention and wanted me to provide my card information. Robo-voice claimed they had detected a $190 charge to a “jewelry and watch store”.
Scare tactic to make people believe there has been fraudulent activity on their account. If you receive this call, just check your PNC account or call them directly from the 888 number on their website if you are concerned.
I got a call saying that someone tried to use my debit card and charged $******t when I check my account I didn't see anything. When I tried to call PNC, I couldn't get onto my account.
I called the PNC fraud line. This number was confirmed to be PNCs card and loss prevention line. They asked for my name and sent me a code on my phone but asked for no other information before confirming several purchases I made this weekend.
They called right after I used my card online to buy so****ing and said they wanted to verify my iden***y to ask about the 'recent activity'
Fraudulent activity on my card
Wanted to verify use of debit card
They called to review my banking information but I ended the call before they could further move on
They called to tell me I had money out my account and wanted my information for my card!
i work for pnc..
It’s pnc bank loss prevention
This call is from PNC Loss Prevention
I called PNC and they confirmed this is SPAM
This is a call from PNC bank there has been activity on your account. Please call this number
Remember if even 1 person said it was a scam don't even bother, the rest could be bots. Do not give out your info. Call the legitimate PNC customer service line and see if you have any activity on your account
They ask for minuscule information but it is legit
This call is a scam. PNC would never call you about verifying recent activity. If you see weird account activity, you should always be the one calling PNC to confirm, not PNC calling you.
This is PNC loss Prevention/fraud and they called due to su****ious charges on our account. It IS legitimate. I called the 888 number on the back of my card and they verified this IS their loss Prevention department. Local ***nches will NOT know if charges have been flagged as****entially fraudulent. This is NOT a scam!
This is NOT a spammer. It's an automated call from PNC Loss Prevention/Fraud to warn of****ential fraudulent charges
Left automated voicemail claiming to be PNC calling in regards to su****ious account activity. I called my ***nch and they confirmed this was not a PNC number and there was no su****ious activity on my accounts, which I also confirmed by actually checking them.
Fake call
Automated call, wrong bank card info. 100% confirmed scam, verified that PNC DOES NOT USE THIS NUMBER. The only number you should call about PNC cards is on their website and is an 888 number.
This is a scam to get your card info. Always call the bank directly.
Left no message, but called 3 times
This was a call to check debit card usage
This is a real PNC number. They were checking on a purchase I made today. Good to know because my card was temporarily suspended.
Checking status of charges
I talked to someone from PNC and it is Real. It just to make s**** it is you making a big purchase.
Fraudulent call. I called PNC bank and they verified that they did not call me and there was no questionable activity with my account.
Verified with PNC that this is not them. The comments about this being a legit number for PNC are wrong.
Legit number. Called PNC to verify they called. Talked to pnc rep at my ***nch also. Never requested account information only Zip Code.
Claims to be PNC Fraud Services. They are not.
****ese speaking caller, only english is a bank name
Called to verify unauthorized charges that they declined. I called to PNC directly. Legitimate number.
Just saved my****. My rent is due and they alerted me to 27 transactions in Taipei. Who shops in Taipei?
I have been receiving calls from this number the past 2 days. From the looks at other comments this is spam.
This is not pnc. Not an****ociate of pnc and is a fraud. Call pnc if you have actual concerns on your account. Almost always there will be a live person on the phone.
I just called the PNC main number and they verified that this is a PNC number and transferred me, so it is 100% legit. I purchased a laptop yes****ay, so they wanted to call to verify the purchase.
The number is legit. There was some su****ious activity regarding my account. I received my replacement card in a few days.
Called us 4 x in one day !!! IT IS A SCAM !!!!! We called bank fraud directly. They confirmed they never called us. Never answer call questions about your account. PNC fraud alert normally denies the transaction upon attempt to purchase. You will have to call PNC to confirm ID before you will get a purchase approval. They will never approve the purchase first then call you later and question your transaction. Be smart ! Don' t recall any number left on your ma****e or text to you. Call the number only listed on the back of your card if you have questions. Quit aiding in your own iden***y theft.
I have NEVER had a PNC account, yet the call said they were checking a transaction on my PNC debit card. HA !
Not legitimate! I don't have an account with PNC and never did, but received a call from this number on a phone that was only active for 1 day and no friends or businesses had the number.
This is not a scam. They just wanted to make sure of some su****ious transactions made using my debit card. I followed the information and was grateful for their concern.
This number is LEGIT. I literally just got off the phone with a Pnc rep and she confirmed this number is an automated service they use when they suspect su****ious activity on your account. They are just trying to make sure the purchases were made by you.
Scam asking for card information. Call PNC! They will confirm that this is NOT legitimate.
This is not a scam, it is legit.
got a call from 800-225-5671 claiming to be from PNC checking on recent activity on my debit card, don't bank with PNC at all, my bank said it's a "phising" call trying to get your bank info. & not to contact them
received call claiming to be from PNC checking up on recent activity on my debit/credit card ending in **** (the numbers were CORRECT!) Asked for zip code where card is located and I got su****ious -- ***g up
