Got this telling me that this was call from NJ State

Received a call from this number today; there was a lot of noise/chatter in the background so I believe it was from a call center. The caller (who had an extremely thick Indian accent) said she was with the 'Georgia Economic Office' and was updating 'the official record', and needed to know if we were moving the office this year or next. When I asked her a few questions--for example, what the heck is the Georgia Economic Office--she ***g up.

Just received a call a few minutes ago - said they were calling from Ontario Business Development Corp and asked if we were relocating.

Yeah, me too.  I called about my Comcast bill going up $10.00/  They called me back with a survey and by the time I typed in the number and read your post they ***g up.  Oops, My mistake.

My mistake on my previous post.  In looking up 800-335-7194, I found it was Comcast calling me back for a survey.  Oops! : )

Wow.  These callers went ballistic on me today.  Called back more than a dozen times and ******* both lines.  I called Comcast, our phone provider, and they can selectively block numbers.  Yea!  The FTC number listed above is the "Do Not Call" list, which we are on already.  So, if you keep getting harassed by these folks, call your phone company to find out what procedures they have in place to stop this type of call.  Oh gracious, they just called me back using a different number:  800-335-7194.

They claimed to be California business development. The guy had a strong Indian accent and he asked if we were planning to move. I asked if he was calling from India and e stressed that no, he was from California. Meanwhile I scanned the number on the net and obviously is a scam. I **** up on them.

Total SCAM, Travis (with an Indian accent) calling from the Business development office of the State of Illinois.  Wanted to know when we were moving, how many employees, asked for a website or email address.  I kept asking them why they were calling and they finally ***g up.

Received a call today from this number.  The person on the line stated that his name was Kevin and that he was calling from the State of Texas relocation department.  (Definitely called from some sort of call center.  Lots of voices in the background.)  He asked if we had completed our office move or had decided not to move.  I asked who his contact was for our office and he ***g up on me.  Thanks for the FCC info.

called just a few minutes ago, left a long, blank voicemail in which I heard people talking in the background, clearly an indian call centre.  i don't answer calls from numbers i don't recognise, and I'm certainly not answering this one.  if they call a***n, i'm filing a complaint with the fcc;  thanks btw for posting the number!

I got a call from this number 3 times todayone time yes****ay and she kept asking more and more questions so I eventually just ***g upthen today I got mad at them for calling me all the time and they just ***g up everytime.fishy fishy

this caller said he was from the economic development bankand s****ed asking personal questions

Same.. Ontario Business Development Corp .. asking if we plan on moving, do we have a realtor etc.

Also received a few calls from this number, and like Nick above, they claimed to be with Ca***ian Economic Development.  We've received a few calls from them.  When I try to call the number the message says "number does not exist".

I receive the same calls and questions as everyone else on this forum does.Call once every 3 weeks asking me if I still plan on moving my business.When questioned, they **** up.In my case, they claimed to be with Ca***ian Economic Development.As we also get frequent calls from Indian based credit card discounters, maybe this ties in?

I just got the call.  He told me that they are from the California State Real Estate office, of so****ing like that.  I asked his a***n but because of his heavy accent I did not quite understand.  They asked if I had plans of moving.  I told them no.  He then said maybe next year or the year after and ***g up.  Strange!

Got the same call, from same place - it's a scam. I do a fair share of harassing idiots like that. Caller did have an Indian accent - from State of Colorado. I said that I know everyone who works for the State. Messed with her for a bit - she got frustrated and ***g up. When u dial the number back u get a phony AT&T recording to its a s****ed caller ID.Wonder if there is a way to stop these idiots from calling!

I recieved two calls today from this number 800-247-4047.  First from a female, then the second from a male.  Both with heavy accents and the backgound noise sounded like a call center to me.  They introduced themselves as working with  "the business development office of the State of Colorado".  Said they were following up on our office move and if we'd completed it yet.  When I s****ed questioning, they both ***g up on me.  This is about the 6th time I've recieved a call like this in about as many months.  They tend to come c****ered within a few days of each other, and then drop off for a few months.  I'm going to continue to get info on them.  And also report. I believe this is some sort of SCAM but I can't figure out the angle.

I received a call from this number yes****ay, and they said they were from my fair state of Washington.  The caller's accent and background noise sounded like it came from an Indian call center.  They asked to verify company information.  I said we do not deal with agencies that outsource their call centers, and ***g up.  Thanks for the FCC information.

These are scammers or sneaky telemarketers and calling businesses to get information and/or run a scam.They called my once before on my old number so when they said they were from the State of Minnesota where I live I knew they were the same scammers. They ask if we still have plans to relocate our offices, but I forget what the rest of their scam is. They are not sophisticated and will **** up if you question them or give them a hard time. You can report calls like this to the FTC at 888-382-1222. It only takes a few minutes and the people I have been reporting soon don't call anymore... :-)
