Leave a CommentCG replies to CGa few seconds agoAs I suspected, Financial Educational Services did not refund my money on Friday, June 11th, and I tried calling all day on Sa****ay, even during their business hours and no one picked up. I called about 5 times on Monday, June 14th, and left messages to call me back, several times having Ashley tell me that Shannon Dunlap will call me back as soon as she gets off the call she was on. I waited over an hour to hear back and I called back a***n with a direct number to Shannon, a***n (Which is 727-535-2175 Ext. 218) and finally got ahold of her. I found out that it had already been 85 days since I requested money back and she agreed that they had a 30 to 60 day refund policy and that this was unacceptable.) I told her my next call would be to te BBB and that they already had a bad standing with them with an F rating, if I did not get it back right away. She replied that she would get it back to me in the morning on Tuesday, June 15th, bypasing the accounting apartment. I have it all recorded, which is what you need to do wtih these people. It's now Tuesday afternoon at 1:30pm EST, and she has not replied to my most recent message I left. No refund or call back yet, but Ashly told me to call at 2pm after her lunch break. I recorded all this too. Will post more later for anyone using this 800notes page and whocalls me page to figure out how to get a refund from these people.
CG12 Jun 2010Hard to get your money back - read story:I signed up with Financial Education Services in November 2009, under heavy pressure from them to give them my credit card info. I normally would not have done this, but they hit me at a time when I had just noticed how bad things were going debt wise for me and with the new credit card laws coming into play to restrict Credit card companies in Feb. 2010, my main card that I had consolidated money onto had gone from a fixed rate of 6.99% to 17.99%, which hurt. They charged me $895.00 on that card which upped my monthly payment even more. They promised a savings of $3,000. I got forms in the mail, sent them back and shortly after got a call to set up a time to call the CC companies to reduce my interest rates. They got my 17.99% to 13.99%, but I have a feeling that I could have done that myself, because it was too easy. Well, they told me that they would schedule another time to call the CC companies back a***n. They never did, and I got busy and forgot about doing it. I called months later and told them that I had discovered a better way to get out of debt and was doing it on my own with the help of tips and techniques from Dave Ramsey (http://www.daveramsey.com). You should check his stuff out, it's great and is not a scam, and you can even do it yourself for free if you read enough of his stuff or listen to his fox TV show.Well, Brent (or Brett) Dukes told me that they had done all this work on my plan already and could only give me a little back. I negotiated with him to get $596.00 of my original $895.00 back telling him that they had done very little and I could have done that on my own and they hadn't even s****ed on my plan. He said that it would take 30 days for them to process it and up to 30 days for it then to appear on my credit card. I talked with them about this refund between March 22nd and March 26th, 2010 (can’t remember exact day). Well, long story short, 30 days passed and I called them and was told that it should show up soon, but that it takes 60 days for Financial Education Services to process it. I told them that they told me 30 and up to 30 on the CC companies end. They****ured me that this was not true, 60 for them, then how long for CC company. I called them after 60 days and they said it should be processing soon. I finally got them to give me to their supervisor Shannon Dunlap and at this point it was already the beginning of June, over the 60 days. She gave me her direct line, which I will post a***n once I get it from my office. She put me on hold, then got back on and said that it will post soon and she would call me and e-mail me once it did. I few days later, I called back, she said it would be refunded on Friday, June 11th, and I would receive an e-mail and phone call. Well, today is Friday, June 11th and I received no call on either my cell or home phone and none of my e-mail addresses have an e-mail from them. I’m glad that I can still get a hold of them and talk with them, and they will get a call tomorrow for sure. If the money does not get to me by early next week, I will be contacting the BBB in Florida. Without them, I have paid off everything from that card, except what they should refund, but I’m tired of it accruing interest from them not refunding.I tell you, with Dave Ramsey’s techniques, once the refund comes, I have paid off about $6,800 in 3 months, without it, I have done $6,200 on my own. Definitely check it out and don’t fall for Financial Education Services. I will post another link with contact info for Shannon and then how things turn out so it may help you later.Caller: Financial Education ServicesCall Type: Debt Collector
