Leave a Commentseem they are a credit recovery company with agressive tactics targeting students and anyone****ociated with them. My wife recieved several calls from them, she has never been to college nor ever taken out a student loan. We have spoke with several people in teh company who say they will not call us a***n but other people from this company keep calling back. the last one was rather rude, Gary Brown was his name however they like most collection agencies probably have dozens of people they switch up with to confuse the consumer. I suggest if you are called by them and you have a student loan, DO NOT TALK TO THESE PEOPLE. call your loan company and complain about thier tactics, call your student councliers and complain to them, and make a complaint to the better buisness burea, email or in writing like I am. Do not give them your SSN or any information. http://www.ncmstl.com/index.html this is the companies main page.
Anyone to afraid to call from a message left must be hiding or knows they owe so****ing. Call from a pay phone for god sakes...Be an adult and find out why someone is calling you. Grow up people. If you don't like the person who answers, **** up and call back and ask for their supervisor or another worker. I work at this company and have for 20 years...I****ure you there are no scams going on. Laws protecting "you" prevent the company name and reason for calls from being left on ma****es or with uninvolved parties. Thank your Congressman for that one. We'd love to tell you why we're calling.
Dee, You are ******.
Craig ***ter also is calling me. I was told by my community college they are National Debt Management and they are a collection firm that my LOAN IN DEFERMENT has been sent to. Is this illegal? They also deducted my taxes and took 265.00 (which is over half of the loan amount, it was a total of 500) and now they are asking for over 500 more due to fees from these people. I am looking for someone to complain to.
The site below lines up with 314-462-1944It is called National Credit Management. http://www.ncmstl.com/
The name left on the answering ma****e was Chris Harris. From 800-333-6787 and left a reference number. Just said he wanted to speak with so and so. He did not mention what the issue was. Another site identified a caller from the above number relating to trying to get some people to consolidate student loans. Could be a ruse to collect past due student loans. Some postings say how the person helped them get their loans up to date and so forth. Are those legitimate posting or are they from someone at the 1-800 number who wants other to believe they are the best thing since sliced bread? Other caller ID look ups identify 314-432-1944 as out of the St. Louis area.
Craig keeps calling asking for someone other than myself. He calls and leaves a number plus a reference # to call back. Then Craig turns around and calls my number a***n and leaves a message for a totally different person, with the same reference #.
Man called using my name, telling me to call back 'regarding my account', that he had an extension that I'm to use, and a reference # that must be noted during my call. The name with the call was Craig ***ter.
This guy called me and asked for my daughter today, and said it was of a "personal nature." She lives in another state, so HOW did he get her ***her's name and all that?? I called my daughter and she said to ignore him. I hate that these people get personal information We should contact the FBI, Internet Fraud, and our attorney generals. Anytime there is no ID when you use a reverse phone lookup, it usually spells trouble.
I have received a couple of calls from this number very recently. The man leaves a message with his extension and a reference #. I've been reluctant to call him back because I'm not sure if it's a scam or not. The bizarre thing is I had 1 student loan, and paid it off in March. The calls I have received from this guy have been since the loan has been paid off.
Got a voice mail message from a Judy Reed. Said it was very important that I call back at 1-800-333-6787 and gave me a reference number to use. Also said it was in regards to a Spencer Craven. I've never known anyone by the name Spencer Craven and have never been to college or had a student loan. I called the number, spoke with this Judy Reed. When I said I have no idea who Spencer Craven is, she said she would remove my name from "the list" and ***g up. I tried to call back to find out more information and got a voice mail message asking me to provide my name, phone number, ref. number, and my social security number. SCAM! Regardless of other postings here, they are scammers!
Received a voicemail message yes****ay from this number. Bill Mack left a reference number and this 800 number to call back, but no compnay name. The name he's calling about isn't either my husband or I, but is the name of his deceased ***her and his son. Interesting, he called my husband's cell phone, a number that is rarely given out/used. We've decided not to call him back; see if he calls a***n. For his sake I hope he's not nasty; cause he hasn't met nasty on the phone till he meets us!
A womam continues to call at least once a week from this number. I let the call go to voicemail every time. She only provides her phone number and a reference number. She doesn't sound mean or angry and never provides the nature of her call so I don't know what she wants.
They kept calling asking for my wife by name. A woman said her name was Karen Adams and told me to tell my wife to call back at ext 237. My wife later called and a recorded message said to leave her and name Social Security number (sounds like a scam to me). My wife didn't give any info and finally later reached a real person. This person said they were calling in reference to my wifes daughter. They are either looking to steal someones iden***y or they're a s***my collection agency (or both).
Received a message on my cell phone from someone at ext. 245 and it sounded completely ominous - I could tell immediately this was not a nice person. I called back and got a voicemail, asking to leave day and evening numbers - the better to harrass me with, I suppose. I do have student loans and am in school, so my loans are not in default nor due to be paid. I also have a daughter who graduated not that long ago, and she had a deferment which probably just ended - so the call may have been regarding her instead of me. Hard to know. Based on everything I've read, I will definitely not be leaving any messages with phone numbers for them, and probably will not call back - I'll let them try calling me a***n.
No this company is NOT legitimate. Most people don't know what loans they took out and for how much, so this company can easily tell them that a loan (usually a Perkins loan in this company's case) has defaulted and that they owe interest. They tried to convince me that I had defaulted on a $1,000 Perkins loan that I did take. They also said that I owed interest on this loan. This was the first step for this company to reconsolidate my loans through them. However, the company had no idea I was a full-time grad student at a new university and thus had not defaulted. Also, contacting the federal government showed that I had neither defaulted nor owed the $306.17 interest this company falsely claimed. Be sure to inform yourself about your financial situation before dealing with this aggressive and misleading company.
they called me today, and i called them back and just typed a random extension in. The desk that it reached was a person named "snickerdoodle" and the voice mail just said "snickerdoodle" nothing more. its just a big scam.
Listen people, this company is legit. I had a federal Perkins loan in default and I owed unpaid tuition to my college. Amy Fisher helped me consolidate my Perkins loan and I set up payment arrangements on my tuition bill. For all of you that say this is a prank you are wrong. I desperately needed to get back into school and she helped me do that. I could not have gotten back into school without her she is my hero!!!!
THEY DO WORK FOR UNIVERSITIES, THEY ARE NOT A SCAM, THEY HELP STUDENTS BRING THEIR FEDERAL LOANS OUT OF DEFAULT! THEY DID ALL THE WORK FOR ME I DIDN'T HAVE THE HEADACHE OF DEALING WITH THE LENDERS BECAUSE THEY DID IT FOR ME. IF THEY LEFT YOU A MESSAGE I SUGGEST YOU CALL THEM RIGHT AWAY
THIS PLACE IS NOT A SCAM, THEY HELPED ME CONSOLIDATE ALL OF MY STUDENT LOANS!!!
This place really helped me get my Perkins loans cleared up! "They" don't consolidate them. They help you find places to get them consolidated. It was super easy! I was doubtful at first but they are the real deal.
If this is a collection agency they are not allowed to leave their company name or show it on caller ID. Thank your congressman!
This is a legitimate business working for universities nationwide. If your receiving a call you can contact your former university to verify it's legitimacy.
you're all clueless
Ignore the previous comment. They do NOT work for the Feds. They are scam artists looking to make money by getting personal info. If they were a valid collection agency, there would identify who they are with and there would be identifying information when you call them.
These people work for a location out of Texas. They are collectors for the Federal Student Loan department. The FEDs gave these people rights to harass anyone whom owes back money on student loans. They can also submit for wage garnishment, and keep your tax returns, to satisfy the student loan debt.
Has called repeatedly over the past week - including my home phone. Definitely moving on to scare tactics now. The voicemail "Chris" left today said "This isn't going to go away, so you better call back and talk to me". He does not state what company he is with, why he is calling etc. He only gives his first name and extension number 216. The call back number he provides is 1-800-333-6787
Some guy named Chris has called me 3 or 4 times this week and last. Definitely using scare tactics. The voicemail he left today said "This isn't going to go away, so you might as well just talk to me for a few minutes". Does not state the nature of the call, why he is calling, or what he is calling about. I'm not answering. Let's see how long he keeps it up.
Caller told me to call back to 800 number. did not state what the call was about.
called looking for my son about his student loans, how he could paid it off faster. I think this is a rip off all they wanted to do was scare him
