They needed more info. for application that I didn't apply for.

Hi, this is -- calling from Discover Fin. Srvcs . Calling -- about recent correspondence made in your name. Callback is 800-347-3072. ***Discover's online chat verified the number is legit. The chat support person was able to void a fraudulent application with the reference number from the voicemail. Put me on their internal fraud alert list and sent info to clear any dings on credit report

A woman claiming to be from Discover left a message on the answering ma****e for my house phone. She asked for me by name and said that she was calling about some correspondence. I called 1-800-Discover. They said they had no reason to call me.

I received a call on my house phone claiming to be discover card asking for my wife and (we have been separated for years, claiming there were issues with her discovery card, (she does not have one) It furnished a case number and asked for a call back. I called her and furnished the information advising her it might to be a scam. She punched in the numbers on her cell phone, and it advised Possible Scam. She did not call and I ran the information on your web page, and was told of the number of complaints.

They knew my first and last name and said I should contact them in regards to so****ing on my Discover account. Reached out to the number actually listed on my Discover account (it's obviously not this one), and the person from (actual) Discover said they had no records of calling me and no reason to reach out to me about my account.

I thought the caller was a scammer for sure. Looked up the number for DISCOVER CARD Credit Card Fraud from the official website and called them directly. Turns out the real fraudster is trying to get a CC in my name. The number above is valid (but would NEVER call it based on a voice mail message (even if I was their customer).

Claiming a Discover card was filled in your name

"In regards to correspondence we have received in your name, please call 1-800-347-3072." Called the main number and validated that they did try to reach me, and that a fraudulent attempt to create a card in my name had occurred.

Not a scammer.

Left a voicemail from "Discover Credit Services" for me (but they didn't have my last name correct) about an account verification. Then left a 15-digit reference/file number and said to call back at this number Instead, I called Discover Card itself (not the phone # they left) to confirm that no one had tried to open an account in my name (i do not have a Discover CC.)

This caller is Discovery card services.

They just kept calling and ****ing up

They find your number and call if they have any su****ions the application they got was not submitted with your consent, they don’t ask any information and they can provide a reference number

If you get a call from this #. It’s not the caller trying to scam you. It’s w***ver signed up for a credit card under your name.

Someone fraudulently submitted a credit application under my name.

Caller left a message they were calling about a recent credit application made in my name and even gave me an application number. They wanted a call back at a different number. I DID NOT ever submit an application or have an account with Discover. I called 1-800-DISCOVER and they said they have no account or application information for me.

Confirmed this is a phishing call. They also sent a letter in the mail.

Stated that I needed to call them back in reference to do***ents received on my behalf. (It was legit) It concerned a credit card application.

"Hi, this message is for . I'm calling from Discover Card . . . This is not a solicitation. Please call us back at 1-800-347-3072. Use reference number <15-digit reference number>." I called back at 1-800-DISCOVER, *not* the number that called me directly. I gave the ref. # and was put on hold, then told Discover doesn't use reference numbers and that the call was a scam.

I received a message giving me this number to call about a loan. They said they only needed a couple of information.... Sure like my SSN? What a scam! What thieves!

I received an email saying that my application for Discover Card was received and is being processed.  It gave 1-800-347-3072 as the number to call if I had not applied.  The "from" field listed " Discover Card ([email protected])."  Sounds like phishing!

Received a call telling me my application for a Discover Card had been cleared and to call this number if I had questions.  When I called back, a lady answered claiming to be from Discover Card.  When I told her I had not applied for a Discover Card, she supposedly checked and confirmed that her records also showed I had not applied, however she said she needed to check a different route that would require me giving her my social security number.  I declined to do so, she said she understood but could not check further.  Then I ended the call.  Sounds like phishing to me.

Called my house after 9:30 PM

I received a letter on Discover card stationery.  It gave the number 800-347-3072 to discuss the fact that someone has opened a card in my name.  I gave them my birthdate and name, then they transferred me to their security department.  There, they wanted my SSN, MMN, etc.  I felt uncomfortable giving out personal information, so I ***g up and called 800-DISCOVER, then asked for the Fraud Dept.  I asked them if the 800-347-3072 number belonged to Discover and they said yes.

It's a legit number. I just applied for a Biz Credit Card from Discover....they have called and left messages. I just got a call today....picked up...and got a real person......I have been approved...and will be receiving my card shortly.
