Leave a CommentThey disappeared after taking my money
I received several calls on my cell phone from this number. My initial contact was with Discover customer service and as others have mentioned, they didn't know anything about the calls. I had them transfer me to their Security/Collections department and they "discovered" that my cell phone number had been****ociated with another person's account. The agent****ured me that they would disassociate my cell number with the other person's account and, after their update runs tonight, I should not receive any more calls from them.
A Mr. Deaton called me at work. I returned the call, but was redirected to someone else who stated he did not know who Mr. Deaton was nor did he know why he would be calling me.
Called Discover customer service (number on my card), who did not recognize number. However, was transfered to Discover security who did recognize the number.Would recommend calling customer service who can transfer you to that number.
Someone saying they are from Discover (at this number) has been calling for months. They begin calling before 8:00 am and call as late as 9:00 pm 7 days a week. I have told them over and over that the person they are trying to reach does not live here. I continue to get calls from them numerous times every day, including Sundays. When I got home from church today, they had called four times in a three hour time period. This got old a long time ago and I want it to stop.
We have been getting calls that s**** as a recording, telling us to hold on for an important message, over and over a***n. Finally a rep named Anita comes on the line and just says my first name and garbles the name of the company that she is calling from and leaves the phone number 800-347-4918. From reading this website, I called my Discover card and found that I am a couple of days late on my payment, but I have already mailed a check. Guess Discover does not know or care that the company that they hired to call on late payments is very unprofessional. Discover is owned by Sears, so it reflects badly on Sears also.
ANSWER!!! Indeed the number is Discover's collection dept. In their efforts tocontact existing customers they intentionally call other people because those people have a name or other similarity to their customer. That is why the recorded message left on yourma****e does not include your name, account, the caller's name or any personal specifics. In fact, if you call back the frustration is augmented when they try to use your personal informationto locate your account and find the truth that you have never had an account with Discover.I guess if they find an account in good standing they apologize. In fact, YOU MUST HAVE DISCOVERIDENTIFY AND REMOVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER WHICH DISCOVER HAS BEEN ATTACHED TO THE RECORD OF THE OTHER CUSTOMER they are trying to reach or you will continue to get those calls. GET A SUPERVISOR ON THE LINE TO DO ALL THIS FOR YOU AND RECORD THE SUPERVISOR'S NAME. Is this procedure Discover uses legal?
Is this number really from Discover Card?
Is this really Discover Card
got a message today from this number: 800-347-4918Claimed to be from discover. I found a number on discover's website and called that one instead. The lady said she wouldn't be able to tell whether the number was legit or not due to the customer service dept. having so many.It turned out one of my payments didn't go through for one of my cards so it probably really was them calling me.
My husband took a message from Brittany who asked that I call this number. When you call back it says "Thank you for calling Discover." You are then asked for the last four digits of your account and the last 4 digits of your SSN. Being extremely wary of anyone who asks for my SSN, I ***g up.
I think 1-800-347-4918 is Discover.
