Leave a CommentI got this same call, and almost sent a check out today. I noticed the same thing on the website about the donations being tax deductible. I'm am attempting to contact FOPVA via the phone # on the website.
I too got a call from this number on 10/29. claimed it was the FOP of VA. They said they were soliciting for their donation fund. I told them to send me so****ing in writing. I received it today. The address is not that of the VA FOP and what's interesting, the fine print states that my donation IS NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE. I went to the VA FOP website and they are in fact a 501c3 and are tax deductible... So****ing is very fishy. I'm going to email the VA FOP about this and see what they say about this company that supposedly is solicting on their behalf.
Called out of nowhere, didn't know my name. Said was from Fraternal Order of Police. Is legit?
