i received a text purporting to be from Chase Fraud asking me to call a particular number and i called Chase to verify if this was them and they confirmed that it was not.

800-366-1962 is not a valid Chase Fraud prevention number no matter what anyone claims. I received a call to my cell phone that left me a messaging saying they needed to hear from me by 7:45pm to verify a transaction. and gave me a ref#. When I called back it was an automated messaged asking me a series of questions to verify my iden***y. Oddly though I was answering the questions like my home phone number, what the year of my car lease correctly it kept saying I was wrong so it gave me a 'live' person. He said there was a problem with with my chase debit card. I have two accounts, I asked him which one. He asked for the last four digits of one. Then he said no it must be the other one and asked four the full number of the other one. I like an idiot gave him the full number. They he said to verify who I was he needed my date of birth and then I had to enter my four digit pin into their automated system. There is where I called BS. In all my years of dealing with Chase or any company they never ask for passwords or pins. This is a fraud, phising and a scam. I went to my local ***nch and they CONFIRMED this is a fraud and issued me two new debit cards. SO YES THIS IS A FRAUD confirmed by my local ***nch. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It was confirmed by my bank rep and the manager of the bank ***nch.

Scam...I got several messages that sound SO REAL. Call the number on the back of your card only! I did to confirm that my bank had NO PROBLEMS with my account. Anyone saying otherwise is trying to get you to give your info out. A***n, call the number on the back of your card ONLY!

I called chase online banking as well as chase credit card services. Neither has a record of that number in their system. Nor are there any alerts on my accounts. I gave them the number and reference number that was left so they can investigate. This seems a lot like phishing to me.

Claims to be Chase Fraud Prevention. It is a scam.

I've gotten several calls from this # identifying itself as Chase Fraud Prevention. They want me to call back & give them info.

I've received a call from this number today (Oct 4, 2010). The recorded message says it is from "Chase online Fraud Dept." I received the same call two months ago.  I checked with Chase, and there was no record of this number in their security dept.

yep. same thing. we have a business card with a dot-com name, and the voice recognition system called it "_period.com" so that was odd. has anyone had fraud after receiving these calls?

After receiving a message from this number I contacted Chase Fraud division on my own. They have NO reference to this number and have s****ed an investigation as to who it belongs to.

I got similar call how do you know its chase, its an automated voice asking for account details with no chance to talk to a human. Chase fraud division has no refrence to this number

Got a call today from (800) 366-1962 on my mobile.  Did not answer. Did not return the call.

Any ideas who this might be?
