Leave a CommentI too received a hand written letter asking me to call. There was no return address and was post marked Salt Lake City. I feel this is very creepy that someone had my home address and name. My husband called the number and blocked the call so they could not get our phone number and like the other two someone answered "Devins office". We ***g up after that.
Scam of some sort. Received 2 letters, identical when held up to the light, not "hand" written but printed to look like handwriting, just a computer font.I would not call, I would bet they're capturing the numbers of those that call and selling those numbers. Just a theory.
I get the mail for our office, and received 2 letters today addressed to 2 workers that worked in this office ****e over a year ago (before the company I work for moved in). I was curious since there was no return address and the envelopes were identical. I held one up to the light and could see the phone number, so I it looked up online, saw that it was a scam, opened the envelope, and sure enough, they both contained the hand written letters from 'Devin.' You can tell it's a girl's handwriting, too, and I've never met a girl named Devin.
I also received a hand written letter in the mail from "Devin." The letter had a Salt Lake City postage mark, but no return address. I called the number from work, and could tell so****ing was odd because the voice recording teling me that the next operator would****ist me gave no mention of a business name. Here comes the odd part. I called the number at 4:45 AM the next morning, hoping I would get a voicemail that would give me an idea of what this was all about. Someone picked up! They answered saying "Devin's office." I didn't **** around to chat, and was extremely surprised that someone would pick up basically in the middle of the night.
I received the note in the mail this afternoon and decided to call using voip (so they couldn't record my number). As it turns out, it is a marketing tactic for an office (that Devin runs) that specializes in universal life insurance for small businesses. You can setup an appointment to for an interview and/or ask the attendant for some more basic information regarding their product(s), but at least the attendant I spoke with was very friendly and answered all my questions even though she knew I wasn't interested.
