Citi Bank Fraud Department. They called when my Citi Card was cloned and used for over $400 in gas stations in Kentucky.
Early fraud detection for CitiCards.
Legitimate text or call about****ential fraud on your credit card.
This # does belong to City Fraud dept. However, card holders should always call the 800 # on the back of their card to be on the safe side as crooks have become very smart in s****ing #s. Somebody tried to charge $5.00 in San Diego which was declined and which prompted the call from Citi bank. Card is now cancelled and a new one will be issued with new #s. Crooks usually try to charge $1.00 - $5.00 to see if they are successful @ a gas station or Ancestry.com.
Got a text. Sending # was 956-86. Never responded.
Didnt leave message but I called my card and and there was a fraudulent purchase the day before in tenesse. Thanks Number gu ru
It is Citibank's fraud department and they really were calling to discuss credit card fraud involving my my credit card number being stolen.
I received a text and a call from this number saying that I had fraudulent activity on my Citibank card. Instead of calling the number that they provided, I logged into my Citibank accounts and saw no pending charges or unauthorized charges. In addition, I called the Citibank # on the back of my card and they****ured me they did NOT try to contact me and both of my accounts were fine. They also informed me that this number is not one****ociated with it and is likely a scam.
Citi card keeps calling my cell looking for someone else.
Very legit. I was notified via email of su****ious spending. They closed the account and sent me a new card that I received today. I was skeptical at first but every thing worked out great
Yes this a legit number. I was trying to buy groceries and my card was declined. When I got home I had a message on my answering ma****e regarding my account. I called the number on the back of my card, instead, and would not enter my acct no., just kept pressing "O" for Operator. When I reached a live person, and I felt it was legit, the gave them my account No. They said the declined activity was "Out of my Usual Spending Activity." As a matter of fact it was in a different part of the city than I usually shop in. They verified my transactions for the day and the amounts of each transaction. Then the released the account. A bit freaky that they "know" where I shop for groceries, but I guess better safe than sorry. 4/3/2012
I have received several calls from this number ... after applying for a CitiBank Card thru creditkarma.com (site is supposed to be legit) each time my answering ma****epicks up ... no message left. I called the number get an automated message they are citi bank requesting a security code,. when connected to a rep ( who is foreign) I am asked if I have an account with them ...then asked for an acct number ( I have none) I am told there was a glitch and my phone number was tried to someone else's acct. I think its a scam !
they said i had susoicious activity on my account. my balance is $0 with no activity.
who is this
No msg
yes. It's a legit # from citi. Just closed my card!
I called Citi at the number listed on the back of my card and they verified that 800-386-6624 is their number as well.
This is legit. Someone tried to make a fraudulent purchase online with my credit card yes****ay morning. Citibank picked up on it right away and contacted me immediately. The account has been closed and they are issuing me new cards.
i got a call they never asked about any information other then if i had the card. i had made a purchase that morning they were about to tell me the amount and the store where the purchase was made. we have had calls several times and when we had made purchases out of state....to make sure there was not a problem.
We have had 3 phone calls & 3 emails from this number. They claim 2 b w/ Citibank & say there has been su****ious activity on our credit card acct. We have not used this card since 2009. So my husband called Citibank (number on his credit card) & asked about his account. They said his account was fine. There had been no activity since 2009. Then he called the number given in an email they sent. They claimed they were w/ the fraud unit of Citibank. My husband said that he thought they were frauds because he called Citibank & his account is fine. The guy ignored him & said, that he was w/ the fraud unit of Citibank & it is a separate unit from the other part of Citibank & that he would need my husband's credit card number in order to help him resolve his issue. Of course my husband would not give it. Then he said he would need my husband's phone #. My husband said, "Look you guys have called me three times now. You already have my phone #."
They identify themselves as being the fraud unit of Citibank calling to say there have been unauthorized purchases on our account. However, this is a fraud designed to get your credit card information from you. We get repeated phone calls almost every day now from this place and we get emails every day. My husband called the number on his credit card and talked to the credit card people. We have had no charges on this card since 2009 and they tell us there has not been any activity since 2009. These people are frauds phishing for your credit card number!
One call from CitiBank Fraud Early Warning department. Spoke to the representative for a few minutes, and then called the number on the back of my card to verify. It is a legitimate number.
i just e-filed my taxes on turbo tax's website and they charged me 14.95 on my citi card. then i got a text from citi to call this number about su****ious activity. turns out the su****ious activity was the 14.95, so i confirmed that it was a legit purchase from me. so it should be fine. but it's weird why they would think it was not legit? it's such a low amount and it was turbo tax.. ?
This is legitimate - I too called the main number from the website instead and it turned out that I had 3 fraudulent transactions. They closed the account and reissued new cards and had me c****e my passwords.
This number, 800-386-6624, is indeed Citi's Fraud Warning number and is legitimate. I got a voice message asking to me to call this number because of a su****ious activity involving my citi card. I called the number on the back of my card. It turned out that someone had tried to made an online purchase with my card number but used a wrong expiration date. This fraud transaction was blocked and Citi is closing my account. This strict security procedure seems very useful. I think Citi can add further procedure requiring registration of all delivery addresses that are different from the billing address. This should effectively block any fraud online purchase.
Not Spam, this is the Citibank Fraud Dept.
Random call
I got a few text messages and a automated system phone call from it. Called not this #, but the number on the back of my citi card - and it was true: they did try to contact me regarding some su****ious activity on my citi account. So, NOT SPAM.
Yes this is definitely NOT spam. It is anti-fraud detection from Citi Bank. I called the number on my card instead, but they gave me the same information.
This is Citibank's automated early fraud detection warning number. It is quite legitimate, however, you can always call the number on the back of your card (and should do so if you ignore answering this number). Even if you don't answer this call and instead call the number on the back of your card, once you enter your card number, you will automatically be transferred to the early fraud detection desk. But this number is NOT a collection agency of any kind, and you should follow up with Citibank if this number calls with delay.
Yes, legit. Just talked to Citi after getting the same message.
Citi card
I don't believe this is a legit number, I recieved a call from it on my ***nd new work number that Citi does not have. There is no way they could have got this nuymber or any reason for them to call it.
I got 1 call. No voicemail or text message.
It was a valid citi call. Called the number on the card itself, and turns out I had $30 in unauthorized charges. Went through the steps to get a new card.
I received a text from this number and called the number on the back of my card (rather than the number suggested by the text). As soon as I did and input my account number they transfered me to early fraud alert, even though I hadn't chosen that option. I asked about the text and the woman confirmed that they had contacted me because of a small charge from out of state that I did not make. The customer service person suggested that I close my account and request a new card, which I did.
800-386-6624 is Citibank Fraud Warning number and it is legitimate. I called the number on the back of my card and confirmed that they had indeed just sent me a text from that number. Citi had a question about a "su****ious" charge and would not put the charge through until they received confirmation from me that it was ok. Citi is using much stricter security procedures now.
It's legit. And the only thing you have to supply is your zip code and confirmation that you are who you claim to be.
I can confirm this is from citibank early fraud warning dept. I actually received a txt message from 956-86 asking me to call this number. I called the # on the back of my card instead b/c I was not sure if it was real. Indeed it was, just checking up on some holiday spending I completed in the past few days.
This is legitamate. We got a call from here today and also an email. Called the number on the back of our credit card. Su****ious charge of one penny, so we're getting a new card.
I received a message from this number. However, when I returned the call I heard a diet ad and then the line went dead. Called back and same thing happened.
Not spam.
not spam
I got a call from this number saying my Citi card would be turned off if I didn't call back. I called Citi Bank, and they had no issue with my card, and didn't recognize this number....
The call was from Citi Bank. I was told that someone had used my card at Wal-Mart yes****ay for $1,750. They will issue new card. I feel violated. The card was not lost number was found in some other way.
Text is legit. It is from citibanks early fraud detection services. called the number on the back of my card to be certain.
I got a text from CitiBank. I called the number in the back of my card and verified it was genuine.
I have just called the "24 H customer service US and ca***a" citicard nr (1-800-950-5114): they confirmed it is a citicard genuine number.

This is 100% a valid number - Citibank Early Warning Fraud detection. As good practice, I didn't call this number, I called the number on the back of my card - my husband travels so we were making charges to the account in 2 different states. They were verifying that it was correct.
The call claims to be an automated call from Citi Cards Fraud Department, I will follow up with Citicard directley

legit CitiCards number
This is a legit CitiCards number. Trying to verify some transaction. Usually used for fraud prevention calls (Text Message).
It's Citibank's semi-automated fraud dept.
10 about call (800) 386-6624
This certainly appeared to be citibank fraud dept. The automated message knew my name, asked for only my 5 digit billing zip, and knew my recent account activity that had not yet posted on the citi account website. The account website also had a****ential fraud notice on it, telling me to call citi customer service. After I called this number, the alert was lifted off my account website.
This is a legit CitiCards number. Someone made 11 fraudulent charges on my credit card and they were trying to get ahold of me. I called the number on the back of my card and immediately got transferred to the fraud department. If you get a call from this number, most likely you've been fraudulated - call immediately!
They said that there was possible fraud with a Citi card and asked the card holder to call the number.
I received a call and text from this number. When I called the number, I didn't trust the automated prompts that I received. So I ***g up and instead called the Citicard number on the back of my credit card, 866-775-0556 . I asked customer service on this number if 800-386-6624 was a legitimate Citicard number. After putting me on hold for a bit, he came back and said that it was a valid number and that they had a record I had just recently called that number and ***g up on it. SO, it seems to me that 800-386-6624 is a valid number. The CS rep then took me through some fraud questions before reinstating my credit card.
I got a 2 calls and a text from this number also. I called the Citi's phone number found online...I must say the girl helping me was no help. I told her the text said Citi wanted to verify recent transactions. So that's what she did...all was good with the pending/posted transactions. I then asked her about the text message and phone calls. She said there are many numbers I could have got a call from, but could not verify if Citi did in fact call me. She cut me off many times while I was trying to ask questions. I do a similar job ...I would never ever not allow a customer to finish their question, I see it as part of my job to educate the person calling...to explain how things work...why things are done the way they are. Not to say..."my boss will listen to this call to see if you have a valid concern" ha...wow...gee thanks!
They are texting and calling me about some "Fraud early warning" BUT CITICARD.COM has no alert on my account when I log in. DO NOT SHARE your card information without checking this first!!!
This is a legit Citibank anti-fraud verification service. They knew my name and card and purchase locations and amounts, so that's certainly not a scammer
This is fraudulent. They claimed to be Citibank in an email, but it is not really them. Go to www.citicards.com and see the REAL phone numbers.
It was Citibank, calling with a security message.
