I received the same call that was mentioned saying I had joined TextFun Club which I had not done for a fee of $9.99. I then received a call on my cell phone which is not known by anyoone outside my family and the Federal Government because of my position that I held in HomeLand Security. I did a *****ic move by filling out there questionaire before realizing the information was not legitimate for such a free $100 credit card that s****ed with TGIF restaurant to Red Lobstor and the finally Walmart. When the call came in on my private phone call telling me I could win a new Mustand or $25,000 in a cash prize if I had a usable credit card. When I responded with "do you know who your talking to, and how did you get a private and secure cell phone number" the party on the other end ***g up immediately. I should know better, but they caught me in a weak moment, but I stopped supplying information when I realized this was a SCAM.

Charged for unauthorized phone use
Hi Everyone, Called the 800 number. The automatic answering service put me on hold for 20 minutes. Then, they said they were closed...yea right. So, it gave me a website to unsubscribe. Here's the website to unsubscribe: http://mobilecontentcustomercare.com/index.php Good luck!

NO!! I did not have a call but CHARGES in my cellular bill - T MOBILE.!! And T_Mobile wash their hands, they says having nothing to do, so who if not the provider could BLOCK theis kind of anoying matters? I had to call 1 800-416-6129 and spoke with Jovette (!) who promissed to refund 2 charges of $9.99 and stop the sbscription.... at the end? there is ***ody different than you who has to fix the problem. THEY SCAMMED!
37215 - Verizon had me call this 800# - within 2 seconds I received a text that I was unsubscribed. Let's see if this works. I had texted STOP, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE - they never got the message. I'm tired of the $9.99 charges on my phone and Verizon claims no responsibilty for it. Phone companies ****!
They get you with a 9.99 fee per test on the phone bill. There is nothing about the charge when you take the IQ test or the trivia test. I contacted them and did get real people. One of them claims that there is somewhere that tells you about the fee. A female claims that they will be sending out a check for reimbur*****t of the 19.98, which will take up to 10-14 days to process. We will see... I have a confirmation number and two operator numbers but don't know if anything will be done.
was charged for text messenging service that I never requested.
I was receiving horoscopes text messaged every day. I called 800.416.6129. The rep canceled the services right away and I have not received anything else.
This is a trivia company that got my cell number through a Facebbok "friend", gee thanks for sending me $19.99 in cell charges for this ****. My cell company removed the charges and put them on a blackout call list for me. Go T-mobile!
watch out for facebook applications that ask for your phone number in order to receive results. also, ***ps who try getting revenge for anything just simply enter numbers into quiz's for this reason. usually need a pin number confirmation for that though.
I wish these people would stop calling and leaving text messages on my cell phone. Who are you? And please put me on your DO NOT CALL LIST. Thank you.
They will not stop calling me. How can I make this stop
Received a trivia text message 2 weeks ago and another a few minutes ago.
I keep receiving unwanted texts. I have text and called and left them voicemail to stop.
keep getting text messages. I called Verizon and they removed the $, but they keep texting.
I am sick and tirard of getting texts from this number

SSSSCCCCCCCCCCAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!! They charged my T Mobile $9.99 without my authorization!!!!!!!!!!
This is OUTRAGEOUS Slamming. I called Verizon about this and found out who was charging $9.99 a month. Was told it was a third party biller from the number 44-999. I told them to cancel this as we did not subscribe to this. Verizon told me they could not. We were told we would have to cancel with the third party biller. I told Verizon that this was our phone and if we did not want this subscription we should be able to tell VERIZON that thes shoul remove it (cancel it). Of course they said they cannot!! A***n this is OUTRAGEOUS both on VErizon's part and on the slimy scamming slammer's part.
I continue getting 44999 text messages on my cell phone. now I have gotten charged 9.99 on my cell phone bill. I got hooked up with this ****** 44999 from FACEBOOK!

responded to iq test..now they wont stop texting me.
Did IQ test on line and then s****ed getting text from this number. Charging $9.99 a time!!
WARNING!!! Be careful what you give your cell phone number to on-line. A couple months ago, I answered a Facebook's IQ test and had to enter my phone number. I've been getting horoscope type text messages lately that are from 44-999. I Googled it & turns out it's called "www.whoiwillmarry.com" Now I'm getting a monthly charge of $9.99 on my cell phone bill. I contacted US Cellular and they have blocked the company but you must first reply to the text with "STOP". US Cellular told me that this sort of thing happens all the time. People play games, answer quizes, sign up for drawings on-line and then they get your phone number & bill your cell phone company for text messaging. I'm supposed to be getting a credit on my account.
Telling me i signed up for a $9.95 service billed to my phone number. .... I never signed up for anything and had to opt. out of service. I consider this slamming.I was contacted by text message to cellular phone.
won`t stop charging my phone. will not answer phone calls.
From: 44999 TRIVIA: ****a has the most TV sets(300 million). 4help 18004166129 2:12 pm 3/7/09--exact message. I did not request who do I call to get them to quit using my text messages
charged for unwanted call
I received two trivia message on my cell phone via text message. And received a 9.99 charge on my bill. Talked to my provider and they told me to text message back with "Stop" to cancel the service.
I keep receiving text messages on my mobile phone from an unknown source with the number 864-55 as the only identifier on the message. The last two such messages ended with the words: 4help call 800.416.6129. No name; no phone number. the text messages are random factoids. I want to report them to Verizon Wireless and stop them from coming. Also, when I called this 800 number, all I got was an unidentified recording placing me on hold.
It comes from 44999; says your subscribe to monthly trivia I never did. To stop 9.99 per month call on your cell phone bill; respond to text message immediately with "STOP".
company charges 9.99 to your cell phone carrier regardless if you want it...No way to stop charges..
This is thenumber for http://nationaltelephoneadvisory.com/ They provide the IQ Quiz for Facebook and charge $9.99 to your bill if you take the quiz. NO REFUNDS!
unwanted trivia text messages.
44999 Text Alerts...Call YOUR carrier and have it blocked. Sprint credited me 2 months fees. IQ Test can look fun but P-I-T-A!
Unlike Tom, there are folks who would like to know their IQ and this system asks you five questions and at the end - asks for you cell phone number so they can provide your score. Now a lot of us know this isn't the way to get it, just email Tom and he will provide you your IQ. Yep, got me too. one of these days we will all realize there is no free lunch. I will be calling my cell phone company in hopes they will be much wiser and block this scammer.
I made the mistake of taking their IQ test. I cancelled by calling the automated service, but I'm still calling T-Mobile to be sure that I'm not charged.
to all the folks that actually sent them a text, you deserve what you get, read the fine print. Its gullible people like you that make these scams so profitable for the scammers. To the people that did not send a text or go "duh, it is perfectly safe to enter my CELL PHONE NUMBER into an IQ test because they must have so****ing to do with each other...) CAll your cellphone companys, tell them you've been scammed, if they give you a problem removing the charge from your bill, tell them to remove the charge or you will remove there services and go to another carrier. and back to the first group of people that allow themselves to be corralled like sheep, being ****** is not a virtue. if you went to buy a slice of pizza and the cashier asked for your social security number you wouldent give it to them...BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER, grow up.
I recently took the IQ test online on Facebook and the company MOBILE CONTENT charged me $9.99 for subscripton which I didn't even subscribe to. They sent txt to my phone telling my score which is understandable but not the -$9.99. That's wrong. I will be letting everyone know.
Two times they sent me weird messages. I figured that I would be chaged 9.99 every month if I do not stop it. I did it and tryied to call to the company. No respond. They foolish people and do not take responcibility. How to stop them?
I too have been receiving unwanted text messages from 0006677 and of course the 1-800-416-6129 number doesn't work from Ca***a. I called my cell phone provider Fido and they informed me that I need to unsubscribe from the service. Not that easy. However, I sent several text messages back to 0006677 and received a confirmation message that they will discontinue the service. I'll anxiously wait for my next phone bill. Thanks for the forums!
Scamming service that charge 9.99/month after telling you you are ******.

I have been charged for mobile messenger on my mobile phone and i have no idea how it has been subscribed to my phone. I haven't had the phone for three months but i have still been getting charged £35.00 a month for this mobile messenger. I would like to know how i can be compensated for these charges, as i am really annoyed about it. Thank Karen Foley.

I am recieving text messages from this number and being charged daily. I have no bussiness with this company, their actions are criminal and i would like it to stop.
I responded to supposed IQ test via aol.com email address and was sent a txt message to my cell phone. Apparently I am now one of the victims. Please help stop this tragedy from occuring further. Thanks, RDA
I have been charged a monthly fee on my cell phone. I received this trivia message with no phone number to reply to. I gave no permission for this group to have my number. I did not know I was being charged. I deleted the messages because there was no way to respond. Only recently was I charged. This is a scam and should be given to the FBI to investigate and shut down.
I got this from FACEBOOK's IQ test and have been getting text messages every day on word of the day. they are charging you. 9.99/month Yes there should be a law. cuz the web page flips thru so quickly you don't know what you're getting into.
I keep getting text messages with trivia questions telling me to call 1-800-416-6129 with any questions. I responded to text "stop or i will report to fcc" received answer that i was now unsubscribed.
I keep getting text messages with trivia questions telling me to call 1-800-416-6129 with any questions.
I keep getting unsolicited text messages form this number
INTERNET
Like a ***** I entered my cell phone # to get an answer to an IQ test (on line) and they moved you so quick thru that web page you don't have a chance to look at the small print. So I s****ed getting "trivia messages" a few times a week - $0.20 per message according to my AT&T bill. I called the 800-416-6129 number to stop these msgs and no one ever came on line. So I called AT&T and found out there is a $9.99 monthly charge for these messages (which Tamara from AT&T will refund - plus will disenroll me) I hope it works! Here's the web site from these leeches - notice their "terms" are pretty clear, but believe me, when I clicked on original IQ test on Facebook, the "terms" must have been very well concealed for me to have missed seeing them. http://70.86.132.137/us/US1/?c=US&a=51
I fell for this too. If you will text STOP to 44999 you'll get a reply that you've been unsubscribed. I also texted them and said not to charge me or I'd report them to the FCC and Better Business Bureau. I also plan to call Verizon and report the scam.
unwanted text messages that are charged to me
I get this trivia nonsense texted on my phone and have called this number to have it removed and they haven't.
Keeps sending odd trivia.
I got this on Facebook too. How can they allow this! How do I get out of this?
Scammed on Facebook now. Trap you into a monthly fee. There really should be a law a***nst this. Is this America free enterprise at work... **** in the consumer...and aggrevate the living***** out of them!!
They won't stop texting me costing me money
I keep getting text messages from 449-99. i have called the above mentioned 800 number and left numerous messages to take my number off of their list. Still happening. ANNOYING!!
I had to type my phone number in on facebook to receive information about a test. I immediately s****ed getting spam on my phone. I tried to contact the company multiple times to stop sending the spam. 3 weeks later...I still get it everyday on my telephone.
Getting text message about trivia. But I did not ask for it.
Same thing - accidentally clicked an ad on Facebook and wham, got hit with these ****** trivia texts from 44999. Looks like the cure is to reply with the word STOP in all caps. Also, your phone service provider will block the short code texts and credit your account.
Call your cell phone subscriber to have them block data calls and to get a refund 9.99. Hopefully they will stop now!
Triva messages were sent from this number - once a day for the last few days. I called the number, and they said they'd stop. We'll see...
I am so annoyed with this trivia as well!!! I just did what Ann did and called the help phone number provided and asked to be removed from the list. I got a confirmation text back saying that I have been removed....we'll see if this works!
I hate this trivia text...
I keep getting Trivia "items" text-messaged to my cell phone. I DO NOT WANT TO GET ANY MORE OF THEM! These are coming at the rate of probably every third day.
This number keeps texting me daily, i get get a 9.99 extra bill every month, what can I do to stop them from doing this, I never subscribed for this, is this illegal? please help!
Call Your carrier. This kind of thing has been in court and lost, so your carrier can help you out. I just got off the phone with AT&T and they unsubscribed me from "MCUBE" which is 1-800-416-6129. They send me almost daily BS trivia. AT&T also is refunding the subscription fee of $9.99. The refund is the court case that requires them to pay it back. BAM! Don't try to get it by calling the phone number. It might work but I did not have luck there.
IQ test wanted to txt a pin to get the test results.(idiot)I gave them my number and now I am with you all. Hope I can get it removed.
On October 7, 2008, I did an online IQ test, which said it would text msg my cell phone w/ the answer. It never did. Instead, I s****ed receiving these very weird & *****y text messages from: "89623" that said: "Don't let ***rs distract you or push their work your way. Feeling under the weather may be a result of overindulgence.. 4help: 18004155129. I googled the phone# and found this website caller complaint line. Thank you to everyone who posted here. I called AT&T and told the lady about the text messages I've been receiving and asked if I've been billed for this. YES, I HAVE been billed by two different companies called: SEND ME and MQB for $9.99 each. AT&T refunded me the $19.98 and stopped the text messages from this company. I'm glad I called AT&T instead of calling this bogus 1800 number. Go straight to your Cell phone provider to remove these bogus texts. Also the lady at AT&T told me that they're trying to ***** down on these "subscriptions". She said they're calling it "Spam-texts". Good luck. Call your service provider to stop this non-sense.
