I have been getting automated calls telling me to call this number or another one. I have called and left a message, but no one calls back, just a recording. One time I called and finally it was ringing me to a person and the connection was cut. Tonight I received a call to call the other number. I called and held on for 1 hour, but still no person. I finally left a message telling them to not call unless a person calls. I don't owe anyone anything and we've had the same phone number for at least 18 years, so I don't know what it's all about. Does it ever stop?

How can they call from one number and expect you to call another number? When they don't ask for anyone specific, is there even any reason to pay attention to these calls? I've had messages left for about 2 weeks - same message to call them about "a debt" - whose debt I don't know because we don't owe anyone anything
Called me on my cell phone, I called back and they did not identify the company until I asked. Said they would take my number out as it was a wrong number.

I got a call from this agency and they insisted that MY number belong to another individual who formerly lived at my address. I realize they did a reverse look up and attached MY phone number to this person. I told them to NEVER call my home a***n or I WILL contact my attorney and file whatever suit/suits possible. Is this actually legal for them to do?

This is a collection agency that has a reputation for harassment and other nasty activities, whether one has an outstanding debt or not. Google "Allied Interstate" and you will find all kinds of examples of vile behaviour on their part.
Receive several calls a day from this number at least once per week. Have reported it to the do not call list on several occasions.
