Leave a CommentCaller claimed they were from Fifth Third Bank and knew my name, and asked for my date of birth. I asked why they were calling before I would give my DOB, and caller said she couldn't tell me. I said I couldn't give her my DOB and ***g up.
I just called the valid Fifth Third 800 number (800 972-3030) to inquire about this number. The Fifth Third representative said that the 800-457-0839 number is a valid Fifth Third number. It is for their collections department. With all the iden***y theft out there, I'd recommend calling to make sure no one is using your card.
That ph# is valid because I work for 5/3. We wouldn't call you if you don't have any business with us, unless we're calling the wrong number. We're using an automated dialer and the calls that we're getting are non-stop, that's why the IVR would say that "we're experiencing high call volumes."
During one of 15 automated calls, they left this number to call back. They said it was Fifth Third Bank.
The message says "Please hold, you have an important call from Fifth third Bank". Then it say that due to high call volumn that I should call THEM back. Eventually, if you wait long enough, the voice says that due to the high call volumn that NO ONE is available to speak to me (no one I can tell to remove me from their call list!!!).
computer claiming to be 5/3 bank. Scam.
Claimed to be 53 Bank with important message and experiencing high call volumes.
They say they are Fifth/Third Bank, but they are probably not. They request that you call them back as traffic on the line is high at that time.
This is a phishing scam.It came in the form of a letter stating one of my accounts was closed due to delinquent status.....but does not resemble a true bank account do***ent.I reported them to my bank to let them sort this nonsense out.
