Leave a CommentRAYMOND LOUIS AND FITCH IS A FRAUD...I PAID $1230.00 FOR THEIR MODIFICATION SERVICES AND HAD COMMUNICATION WITH THEM THREE TIMES, ONCE TO TAKE PAYMENT, ONCE NOTIFYING THEY RECEIVED PAYMENT AND ONCE GIVING ME AN EMAIL ADDRESS WHERE I CAN COMPLAIN TO SOMEONE ABOUT THEIR SERVICE. THE DID NOT DO ANYTHING THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO, TOOK MY MONEY AND RAN, HOUSE WENT INTO FORECLOSURE AND HAD A***** OF A TIME GETTING IT OUT! STAY AWAY FROM THEM.
My mother fell into this trap and at this point I'm not sure how to help her. When she continued to recieve letters in regard to the bank forclosing on her home she called her representative with RLF to have her concerns addressed. After numerous attemtpts to make contact she asked that I go to their website and see if I had better luck. Only to find that the website doesnt exist. It takes you to an error page. She has given them over $1200 for this so called mortgage rescue and now cant even get a live person on the phone. In my experience any legit compnay is going to have someone on staff at least during normal business hours 9-5. There would be an opporational website that would at least include the companies contact information if nothing else. but no where on the internet can you find the address, fax number or anything else that might be helpfull in determining who they are.
WOW... Im just not seeing this .. I cant speak for the others.. I have Countrywide my rate was 10% my payment was 1706... I called RLF my rep was nice, she went over my finances, they determined that it could be done.. We s****ed in Feb my foreclosure sales date was suppose to be in March.. It was canceled.. my rate is now 3.75% for 2 yrs...then it will go 2 4.75 nxt year 5.125.. yr 5 it locks into 6% my payment is now $653..the 8 payments that i was due for was put 2 the back of the loan...I hear what u guys are saying, I refered my daughter and she read these messages,so this was my experiece they were definitely legit
Frank, you have personally provided many excellent reasons for people to not contact RLF. Any professional company would not represent itself by using terms such as "BULL ****," nor by making comments in all capitals.Your attempts to refute earlier comments regarding your lack of address on your mailer claim the mailer was "copied." In Idaho, your mailings contain no address information, no web site information. They are clearly original mailings and not copies. You attempt to deflect attention away from your dubious mailing list criteria by using "all capitals" as if typing loudly would deter any serious investigation into RLF. Our loan is not delinquent, and it does not show up as delinquent on any of the three credit bureaus. Your mailing lists appear to be broad based, hitting anyone who has a mortgage.I would not claim RLF is a scam in the sense that you take money and provide nothing in return. It appears that RLF is just attempting to prey upon those who are desperate and willing to reply to any official looking mailing.Regarding your BBB rating, here is what a search from the BBB of Northeast Florida returned: "BBB Reliability Report for Raymond, Louis and Fitch, Inc. A BBB Accredited business since 12/9/2008"The default "very good" rating you mention and "no complaints" doesn't mean very much for only being accredited for 4 months. I would suggest you find a different ***gging point for future postings. Please don’t claim you have three years with no complaints. Per the BBB site, “BBB Reliability Reports generally cover a three-year reporting period. BBB Reliability Reports are subject to c****e at any time.” The statement under “Customer Complaint History” is “The BBB has processed no customer complaints on this company in its three-year reporting period.” This just means the reporting period for all businesses is limited to three years. It does not mean RLF has been in business for three years with no complaints. For anyone who needs mortgage foreclosure help, search news.google.com for “foreclosure rescue.” You may want to read the following before doing business with any “foreclosure rescue” company:http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/07_26/b4040041.htmhttp://www.miamiherald.com/business/story/987802.html
Frank, I would suggest you look at your mailer. The one I received DID NOT have your address ANYWHERE, nor did the content provide what I would consider reasonable disclosure of who you are--why not? If you truly are a legitimate professional organization (law firm), why hid it? Your protestations decidely lack credibility when your own do***ent proves you wrong.
Ok, I like the responses. Please allow me to first respond to the Exec at a HUD agency. Are you trying to tell me that under the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program established by the United States Congress on 1/25/08 you receive no additional funds from lender based fee acquisitions? In the article it also clearly states HUD approved agencies receive a portion of funds based solely upon level I, II and III****essments completed NOT ON OUTCOME. In laymen terms it means any HUD agent that completes a LOAN****essment, whether it is viable or not, receives TAX PAYERS and LENDERS ENDOR*****T funds. So you HUD recieve a payment and keep that payment even if the borrower loses their home. Is that FAIR? I at least refund the payment if we are unsuccessful, once a***n giving the client what they pay for.http://www.nw.org/network/nfmcp/ <-----link for consumer review of the FACTSOn to how we obtain the information for our MAILER, by the way it clearly states we are not a government agency nor are we affiliated with one. We designate certain reps in our office to state and local areas, reason is simple LAWS VARY FROM STATE TO STATE so when we say CONTACT YOUR COUNTY,STATE or NATIONAL ADvisor we mean SOMEONE in OUR OFFICE who handles that state, it is based upon the eligibility number on the mailer when we ask for it. This is to ensure we abide by all state and federal licensing regulations so we train individuals for those areas. We obtain from the credit bureaus a CONSUMER LISTING, in which you need a license to obtain , that listing is filtered based upon public information reported by LENDERS and INVESTORS regarding delinquent accounts. However, and every one knows this, the credit bureaus are not always accurate with their information so we do have people who will receive our notice and will not need our services. SO SORRY DON'T CALL IF ITS NOT TRUE YELLING AT US. Cll Trans UNion, Call Experian, Call Equifax adn get it straight. To sherryc in helotes, when you called your lender you probably spoke with a collection rep there. They are going to do what they can to make a paycheck. We deal directly with their LOSS MITIGATION department. You received a what is called a forebearance to modification. Based upon the lenders expense criterea you show your ability to pay a mortgage payment with out duress. The lender accepts your HARDSHIP and will place your delinquent amount at the back end of the loan. Understand Loan Modification is designed to help borrowers get back on track, lenders take alot into consideration when deciding the end result. The reason for resubmitting the information is for accurate and up to date information to the lender. we can only supply a lender with information approx 21 days old. Beyond that the lender does not see it as relative to the current situation. As for Suwanne, Gwinnett and other news post stating we are a scam, We have spoke with the city counsel members and resolved the issue. There was a Neil Bortz who re-copied the orig**** mailer and was diverting people to his call center. OUR mailer has our address on it 8131 Baymeadows Circle West Suite 100 Jacksonville, FL 32256. THOSE DID NOT. All state officials know who we are and have our direct contact information in the case of any other citizens of Georgia, Ohio and Alabama receive the notice. As for Scams in Florida, how am I to control that??? They also exist in California, New York, *****chusetts, Lousiana etc....they also exist in India, Nigeria, Russia, Guam you want me to continue with this? Come on!! We have a very good BBB rating, we have no complaints, we have our address and our 800 number on the mailer and plastered all over our paperwork, WE ASK FOR NO PAYMENTS OVER THE PHONE, WE ASK FOR NO SSN#'s, WE NEVER ASK FOR A CHECKING ACCOUNT or a CREDIT CARD. All payments made to us are either cashiers check made out to us, a money order made out to us, or a deposit into OUR Bank of America Account where a client receives a printed out receipt for the payment or OUR Suntrust account or use our moneygram code of 6809 to make a payment, so****ing we pay a fee for. All these ****ods are the safest and securest way for someone out of state to do business with us as it gives them a paper trail to follow their money. DO SCAMMERS DO THIS? People ask yourself honestly, if you do not call us can we hurt you? If you do not pay us, can we hurt you? Can anyone force you to do so****ing you do not want to do? If you need help and want someone to work hard for you and not give you any BULL **** call us we can help and will give you what YOU PAY FOR a service that amounts to so****ing. And on a final note, yes you can do loan modification on your own, you can also represent yourself in a court of law, but hey people get attorneys for that all the time, we are no different here at RLFThank youFrank at RLF
I am leasing a house in VA and received a letter from RLF implying that my landlord is behind on her mortgage and yes it contains the same very misleading language. Being worried about what would happen to us in a forclosure, my wife contacted RLF and although they would not provide us with any info they had on the property owner they told us they obtained it (presumambly delinquent mortgage payments) from the credit bureaus. I spoke with my attorney who told me they can't get this info from the credit bureau unless the property owner gave them consent. So why would the property owner give them consent to go to the credit bureau to get info so RLF could then send them what is basically advertising? So Frank, where do you get the info on borrowers that backs up what you claim in your ad mailers? Have you obtained this info illeagly? My attorney also said there are a whole lot of these firms in FL they prey on consumers with high debts.
For w***ver receives letters or phonecalls from RLF Housing Counseling Community Service, AKA Raymond, Louis & Fitch(www.raymondlouisfitch.com) Phone number 1-800-476-6808. This Firm is a complete SCAM as I have personally experienced. They are not a legitimate law firm. Raymond, Louis & Fitch pretends to be RLF a Housing Counseling Community Service; they never reveal their true iden***y in mailings throughout the US, Their address is in doubt, they claim to be from Florida but have an office on the west coast that they deny. The Gwinnet Herald in Georgia reported on 24 March that residents in the town of Suwanee received letters with false claims from from RLF Housing Counseling Community Service, see below articlePlease spread the word we need a public outcry over this!!!!!!!!!!!!!Suwanee Suwanee warns residents of mortgage scam March 24, 2009 | 01:49 PMThe City of Suwanee advises that it is not in any way affiliated with RLF Housing Counseling Community Service or Raymond, Louis & Fitch Mortgage Mediation Services.City of Suwanee officials have been alerted to letters received by residents from an organization identified as RLF Housing Counseling Community Service stating, falsely, that it is a national representative for the City of Suwanee to aid residents with various mortgage****istance programs. The letters provide a Mortgage****istance Help Line phone number of 1-800-476-6808.Residents should be aware that the City of Suwanee has not endorsed nor is it represented by any mortgage****istance program.
I too received a letter stating "your property has been selected for special programs by the Government Insured Ins***utions" and end with "This is an urgent attempt to****ist you with your mortgage delinquency". The letter has no return address. This obviously is scam approach to get some "fish on the net" who may be actually delinquent. Fortunately in today's internet age, anybody checking before making the call will save enough hassles. There will always be scamsters and organizations trying to get people's attention in all ways possible. The more responsible citizens make others aware of them; less successful will be their attempts to trick people into their net. As a s****, please advise your children, family and friends to first not get disturbed and check thoroughly before responding to any of this unsolicitated mails/calls.

My partner rec'd the form letter lacking a return address and postmarked in Bolingbrook, IL. We live in Georgia. First off, the mortgage is not even in her name. Second off, the mortgage payments have NEVER been delinquent. Her name is on a separate mortgage on a second piece of property, and she has never filed for foreclosure. People have been taken advantage enough in the mortgage biz. Now we have lawyers trying to do the same thing????
This message is for Frank at rlf... I recently retained your services and was informed by my mortgage lender that my laon modification was denied. I reached debbie Granate in mitigation with you guys and I am terribly confused. She has informed me that I must make 3 monthly mortgage payments in session for three months.. s****ing in April for $1430.00( my original mortgage payment). And the $6500.00 I owe will be tacked on to the end of my 30 year loan. She then asked me to resubmit ALL of my paperwork a***n..the hardship letter, my bank statements etc... and at the end of the three months my mortgage company might reconsider whether or not I get a loan mod. Wellsfargo has already turned me down. If I do not receive a loan modification will you guys retain the entire $1500.00 because I recieved a forbearance agreement or will you retain the $200.00 non refundable fee and return the rest to me since I did not receive the loan modification with the reduced payment like we had agreed? I understand that you guys have in essence helped in a way. (with the forbearance being tacked on at the end of my loan) but I was asking for a reduction in my payment. So all that my payment to youguys have bought me is a few more months in my house with no real resolution....please help me understand I am hoping I am just misinformed :) Thanks...
I too received this call and a follow-up type letter in the mail. I will take Frank with RLF at his word that they are legitemately trying to help provide legal advise to foreclosures. However, he should be notified that the letter I received did not include their address. None whatsoever. That's what made me think this was a total scam. So Frank, make sure that your letters do indeed contain your address. You may be missing some business ;) Anyway, I think most people are just fine working with people like Doug and Hope Now. My attorney basically told me what to do, and he didn't charge anything. Also, if one calls the local BAR****ociation and requests a referral for legal advise, the first phone review is free of charge (AFAIK). Subsequent visits will be charged, but this is a good place to s****. Most lawyers will be upfront with you and let you know in the first 30 minutes if you really need a lawyer as most don't want to waste their time, even though they would get paid, but would rather focus on people that can benefit from their service. Just my .02 worth.
I am a the Executive Director of a HUD-Approved Non-Profit Agency in WI. I take great offense to the posting by Frank from RLF in the defense of his direct mail campaign and his services. One, their letter is clearly written to deceive the recipient. From the font to the name of the company to the name of their "program" lead the reader to believe that they are affialiated with a non-profit or a government agency. Two, the only reason the "property qualifies for an Economic Advantage Loan Modification Program" is because the owner was listed as a defendant in a lawsuit for foreclosure of mortgage. Three, housing counselors are very interested in stopping peoples' foreclosures. Funds our agencies receive are primarily from HUD. This 15% kickback is not the norm. Quite frankly, I wish it was because it would help these non-profits keep their lights on. But anyway, 15% kickback of what, exactly? The lenders are cutting fees, reducing payments by extending repayment times and and reducing interest fees. We certainly don't want 15% of their loss! The best way to get real****istance is to visit HUD.gov and get real help and real answers. You may also call "Hope Now at 800-995-HOPE and they will help you or connect you to a local HUD-Approved Agency.
Okay, let me clear some things up. 1st, we are not in the west coast, our letter sent out clearly states we are in Florida and has our street address on it. 2nd we state clearly in our letter that we are not a government agency and are not affiliated with any government agencies and offices. 3rd charging a fee for services compared to a non-profit. I would like to say you get what you pay for, you pay nothing you get nothing in return, or at the least not a company who is working hard to satisfy a paying customer. It is similar to a Public Defense Attorney and a Private Attorney, Public attorney gets paid no matter the outcome of your case, a private one will work to make sure he gets paid by winning. We also provide a full refund and put that policy in writing before anyone everymakes a payment. We do this because we can not guarantee the lender will accept a loan modification. So in the event we are unsuccessful with a clients loan modification we can****ure the client we did everything possible to get a beneficial solution. Ask yourself, what company makes money refunding? We provide every client with the standard working agreement first and never ask for a payment over the phone, we do not ask for your SSN over the phone. We provide a thorough prequalifying ****ysis, for free, to make sure all clients we decide to represent can meet their lender specific criterias for loan modification. This brings me to my 4th and final statement, if you do not know what a loan modification is and all the different options available to you, why would you want to represent yourself with out these basic tools? A lender is looking to keep every penny coming in from a borrower, they have their own best interest at mind. We have the experience to look out for a clients best interest, we receive no compensation from a government based program or lender kick back. Google search at how these non-profits are able to pay counselors for their time, you will see that the LENDERS provide a 15% kickback to the non-profit agency also most of the Heads for these major lending ins***utions are investors in these non-profits, that sounds like a conflict of interest to me. Why would those agencies choose to press the lender into a better solution, when those are the exact ones paying them their salaries? So we charge a fee to provide a far superior succes rate for distressed homeowners, we do not take clients on that are a month behind or have a 6% rate. We****ist homeowners that are facing foreclosure and the lender has STOPPED taking payments from them. These clients have tried to call their lender and the lender says pays $200 more amonth, if a distressed homeowner could do that, they would not be behind in the 1st place.I have made my point, you will see this statement at all the major google blogs and I will follow up with any questions accordingly. We have been very busy lately do to the last statement made by lenders saying they are holding off foreclosure filings to only delay the inevitable, these people are now closer to losing their homes be cause they trusted their lenders and want help. We are here to help.Thank you for reading!
I also rec'd a letter from these folks. As we are currently working with our Mortgage Lender on a modification, the timing would have lent me to believe that it was legit, however, why wasn't the notification on Bank letter head?I called the number and discovered that I was calling a Law Firm. Upon further investigation, it appears that the law firm is located on the west coast and I reside in the mid-west. I feel that is sad and sinful for a someone to take advantage of folks when they are financially suffering already and are probably fairly desperate. If Raymond, Lewis & Fitch are truly looking to****ist desperate families, why a fee?
Well, I called them back and received a response from "Diane" Basically what is sounds like is a For-Profit company that will****ist you in negotiating on your behalf for a loan modification at the cost of $1,500 for your first lien and $800 if you have a 2nd lien. The NON-profit program that will****it you in the same thing for no charge is the "HOPE NOW" hotline that I am sure you have heard about. I have been reading a lot of these reports and I am getting mixed messages. I think it is similar to the credit consolidation companies that pop up..you may get a good one and one that is a scam...it could go either way. Personally, I will go the NON-profit way first before I pay out $1,500.00 but if all else fails, I'd pay it.
I received their letter in the mail and it appears very su****ious. I called the 800 number in the letter and it does state that they are Raymond, Lewis, and Finch. I was on hold in the #2 postion, then it just ***g up on me.
I received a notice from them in the mail and I am not behind on my mortgage. They are sending me spam mail and phone calls and I don't appreciate it. I don't even live in FL: I am in the very north east. As far as their "GREAT" BBB rating- they have been a member for a little over a month and have the DEFAULT rating, not one they've earned. They call themselves RLF, but are a law firm:why use another name not even****ociated with their website? Also the above poster has been accused of advertising on other sites under Micheal***792, so take his words with a grain of salt and always be very wary of unsolicited offers. If you are in mortgage trouble research legitimate companies. I cannot say 100% that this is not one, just that everything I can find about them is very very fishy.
I paid an attorney to handle my morgage dillema and he ripped me off for 5k, i was only 3k behind. I never thought I was going to get caught up. I received a RLF HOUSING COUNSLEING COMMUNITY letter with this number on it and I called just to see what they said. I did check them out with the BBB and they have a good rating, needless to say I took the chance and paid them $2250. Last week my lender lowered my rate by 3 points and it was for the term of the loan, These guys are smart and honest, call them if you are having issues. I called and got Donna ext.214. here is their bbb link incase you want to see for yourself. http://www.jacksonville.bbb.org/commonreport.html?compid=153330239
Thank goodness we got ours! My wife made me call and I spoke with a gentleman named Doug at ext. 222; he has taken such a weight off our shoulders! The name of their firm is Raymond, Louis & Fitch and the website is www.raymondlouisfitch.com my wife and I are the skeptical type and we did our homework. They are BBB approved and definitely have our approval. If you got the same notice we did (we were 4month behind) it can't hurt to see if they can get you approved; i'm sure thankful we did. **Hope this helps** MichaelGa
I recieved a letter from "RLF Housing Counseling Community Service" and I completely disregarded it. About a month went by and I recieved a phone call from one of their specialists (Doug Ext. 222) confirming my reciept of their eligability notice. I advised him that I had, but that I threw it away b/c I was worried it may be a scam. The gentleman not only answered all my questions but I have since retained thier services with regards to getting a loan modification. BTW the name of the firm is Raymond, Louis & Fitch and the website is www.raymondlouisfitch.com I hope this helps anyone who may get a call from RLF!
It was from RLF Housing Counseling Community Service.
Got a mail notice from RLF Housing Counseling Community Service.
