called from 800-477-1827 - a recorded message that gave me the phonenumber 10-15-15-8000 to call back. The message said they're collecting a debt & the call back numberwould cost me $4.99.. NUTZ!!!!
I get this call on my cell phone at least once a week. It used to be a static filled call with a request to call back with regard to a debt collection. Now they have the same request except they've gone from static to a clear recorded voice with a woman's English accent - I don't have any debt so I know it's BS. I saved the number on my cell phone and put 'Ignore' for the name so that when the call, my called ID on my cell phone says 'Ignore' and I send it to voicemail. They've been doing this for several months - don't pick it up, just ignore it. It's a scam.
We have been getting calls from this debt collection agency for a month at least. At first we called them back, sent a letter which was to be forwarded to the debt holder ( a home alarm system company ) and NCO said they would not call a***n. Hah! Now they are calling every day. I am concerned because my husband's name was on a computer tape stolen from a state employee last year. I'm calling the Attorney General's office
This week these people have s****ed calling each evening at dinner time... I let the answering ma****e take it and I do not call them back... A real nusince since I owe no one and I consider this harrassment.. What do they want and why pick my #..? are they fishing for information that could lead to iden***y fraud..? If so, they're calling the wrong people..
I'm on the national donot call list. What a waste of personel employer money.
Why don't these people call their own family so they can fine out how it feels to be a pain in the ______
what waste of employer money and making prank calls. I'm on the donot call list
calling one of my cell phones, no person on the other end. Called the number and it said NCO Financial services. They actually called 2x
I get at least 1 call a day from these people. I am sick of them calling. They don't even ask for anyone, they just leave a message from their ma****e saying that they are trying to collect debt. I have called and talked to them about stopping with the calls but they continue to call me.
we have had several calls from this number over the past few days - MAKE IT STOP.
I don't have any debts and I am happy to pay my dues. The problem is they don't want to send me anything in writing they are just asking me to pay few ***dered dollars for some lab tests that they were covered by the insurance and I have proof for that. Is this a scam?
I've called the 800# indicated in the msg 3 times, they can never find my phone # in their data base, keep asking to be removed, hasn't happened, they also use a system where my phone doesn't ring but they can leave a msg
no indication of who they were calling or trying to reach or WHY other than they were debt collectors which seems totally inappropriate since I am not indebted to anyone
I don't answer, and the message is usually dead air or a busy signal
I've received the same call at home. I am a law enforcement officer. Write down the last time they called you, date, time, caller I.D. display, and what the prerecorded message was. Then call them back and ask to be removed from their calling list and state that you do not wish to receive any more calls from them or you will file a criminal complaint (be respectful doing this). If they continue to call after you have done this, it is then most likely in violation of the law (depending on the state you live in). Then call your local police department and give them all the information. Remember, take plenty of notes. Your Police Department will do the initial complaint and then mostly likely forward the case to the State Agency that deals with consumer protection. Remember to be patient through this entire process. The more that everybody follows this procedure, the more so****ing can be done about unwanted calls. Disclaimer: consult with an attorney for any legal advice.
Same thing but when I asked them to remove my name they told me I had to mail in my request to be removed ??????? *** I thought it was illegal to solicit cell phones
I've gotten two calls from them so far. I'm not calling back. Period.Number was 1-800-477-1827
The number showed up on my caller ID on 6/11/08 and 6/18/08. When I picked up the call, a message instructed me to call. I have no intent to do so since I hav e no past due bills of any kind, and an excellent credit score.
i keep receiving calls from NCO Financial about a debt that has been paid off since DEc of last year. Although I've told them since Jan this debt is paid and even faxed them a copy of a release letter in April showing the debt is satisfied, they still continue to call me. Am I able to sue for harassment?
I have also received numerous calls from "Unavailable" with a recording asking me to return the call to 1-800-477-1827. I did not call the number back as it is su****ious but I did do a Google search. Reports are that it is a debt collector but that is weird because I don't have any debt. This type of harassment should be illegal!!!
I have no idea who these people are but they call my home serveral times per week.
I keep receiving calls to call and number that are unidentified and I always ***g up the phone until I realized there was a place to report these calls. Today I received the call a***n and listened to get the #800-477-1827.Any legitamate company would identify themselves. How do I stop this?
I called the number back. It "is" a collection agency. Apparently a deadbeat gave a creditor my phone number and nco called me. I spoke with keena at nco who was pleasant. I requested that my number be removed. She advised it would be.
i ***g up when i heard the recording. this is not the first time this has happened.
I ***g up before I heard the whole recorded msg and have no intention to call back, as the person asked. I don't have voice mail and almost no one knows my #.
I had a call from this number. When I answered, I got a recording asking me to call them at the same number. I did not return it, as I thought it was su****ious.
