Received call on a Sunday afternoon that an inmate from out of State was trying to contact me. The automated system requested a CC # to be able to connect & accept call. It provided a web address to create an account www. bypass/connect - I looked up phone number and it shows registered to 'John P#tts'

They called me and they where trying to forward me to put money on an inmate’s account

They (?) call twice and I have no idea. Is a jail? I don't have any member in jail or friend. Number was blocked!

This number is a scam. Block them. BUT! In case any of your friends or family get in trouble they will be able to call you for free t first. They have a few free calls per week. In this case, you don't pay by phone but go online and register yourself under a specific inmate number and deposit money on your account. The calls a very cheap! Just a few cents per minute.

It's an automated message telling you someone tried to call you from a correctional ins***ution and that you can call back and put money on an account for an inmate. I was finally able to get a human being on the phone and they can't tell you what inmate. So no these people are completely full of **** and trying to get your credit card information

It will be most likely automated. At least the first time they call asking if you'll except the collect call and fees. This service is used across the U.S.A. for friends and family to be able to speak to their loved ones.

An obvious scam to get your credit or debit card information by posing as a service to connect an inmate from jail to you. Wants you to open an account and fund it with your credit or debit card so that unnamed inmate can use the funds to place a call to you. TOTAL SCAM!!!!

This is a company called GTL... They are part of Connect Network which handle most prison and jail calls.

The first time they called they left a msg, it was from a prison and the name they gave was the first name of my husband. there was an option to press to make payment over the phone (for bail?) They called a***n the next day but didnt leave a message.

Called saying someone from jail was trying to call me, but could not because of some billing problem. Asked for my card info to charge me so I could connect to the call.

Called me and left an automatic voicemail indicating an inmate at a county jail was trying to contact me. Wanted my credit card information to proceed. I do NOT know anyone in any jail.

I got a call from an inmate at Kern valley state prison not sure if it was a real number for that prison or not

not spam-doesn’t mean someone has the correct number but it is not a spam number it is in fact county jail . either an inmate is mis dialing if you think it’s spam or you don’t know your friends and family as well as you thought you did.

It's maricopa county jail inmates get a free 60 second call, then for you to talk to your loved ones you must put money on your phone number using your credit car so you can talk with them it's not a scam it's life **** happened even to the best of us. And then your family or loved ones can call your number.

Its not the jail that is just randomly calling people to get you to pay money for no reason and its not a scam either. if an inmate thinks their calling someone they know and dial your number the automated system will call u when u reject the inmates call to give you the opportunity to set up an account.

This number contacts you after a refused call from an inmate. the caller or automated caller attempts to get to load funds onto the account for the inmate's call to go through.

This prison pay phone system needs to outlawed because they are thieves but then a***n they have the Washington State Department of Corrections setting the rates and profiting from the basic human need to talk to loved ones. The contracts for the phone companies that handle these prison phone calls are awarded to certain companies because of money kick-backs given to government employees, the same ones we elect. When will it ever stop. The people that should be behind bars are the ones running the show. A message to them should be (To those who ***n from hurting others you will have to answer for all that you have done). We all get hurt by their greed.  Thank You
