CALL W/ NO ID OR MESSAGES. "SO I DON'T KNOW YOU"

Second call in two weeks. Same recorded message, because I don't answer 800 numbers. Judging by the remarks all over the internet by people called by this number, these guys are persistent and annoying. I am a minor and have no debt, and am not about to fall for some phone scam. Looking for a way to get rid of the calls, because it adds to my phone bill every time they leave a message.

1-800-486-3147 belongs to Paragon Way.  Other web sites state that this is a collection agency in Austin, TX that buys old credit debt.  They do not have updated information nor do they usually have right to legally pursue a debt if it is yours.  They always ask for social, telephone, etc.  In my case I gave the telephone number (cell) and they gave a totally different name.  I had the number for more than 3 years.  They are to remove the number.  If they are calling you, you can provide the number they called.  They will tell you who they are looking for.  If not you, then they will remove your number.  However if you and this is an old debt that may not be collectable nor legally pursued anymore, you may need to get an attorney to get them to quit calling.

This number was on my caller ID. No message. But I see from other reports, this is Paragon Way. They call as many as 6-8 times a day. Almost never leave a message. Now they are using a different number.

This number keeps coming up on my called ID but cinse my phone goes directly to my FAX machime after 2 rings I never hear what they want.  I hope they enjoy my FAX ma****e.

We s****ed receiving calls two days ago from this number.  I answered once, and they asked for my husband.  They said it was personal and refused to give any information - then they asked for the last 4 digits of his social, which I would not give, not knowing who they are or what they want.  I told them to stop calling and the person was very rude and said they will not stop calling!!  They called back a***n today - I did not answer and there was no message.  We are not in any debt, and I checked both of our credit reports with my iden***y theft protection program I subscribe to. We have no lates and excellent scores. I am not sure what to do, I suppose I will follow the advice above, and write a letter, but it is very stressful to be harrassed by a collector when we are not in a situation which would warrant a collector calling!!!

they called my number looking fomr someone else

I have had calls from this number every day for a week now. I have always been at work so they don't leave any message on the answer ma****e. This really bugs!

They call nearly everyday looking for the same person that I do not know.  Does no good to tell them this.  Any ideas on who to file a complaint with?
