Leave a Commentummm....i havent picked up the phone but i dont have a banck account with anyone....so i guesss its a scam....what ever!!
I received a call from this number. I owe money to no one. I have no credit cards, no open accounts, no medical bills. My car is paid for and has been for the last 4 years. I own my home free and clear. There is absolutely no reason for these ******s to be phoning me yet they do. I finally got a reference number and when I questioned to whom and what was owed they could find NOTHING. No surprise there. And that was the end of that - I thought. It has been several months since I received a call from this agency. All of a sudden they are calling a***n. This time the reference number is different. I haven't called back yet because I am waiting to calm down from the rage I feel. The reason I have no debt is to avoid this kind of harrassment. Guess it doesn't matter. Everyone has to make a living and they don't care how. Pretty sad if you ask me. I've checked my credit report and no one is using my iden***y so I don't understand why I'm being harrassed. They know my name and my phone number and I'd like to know how they got that.
Calls and says if you are not this person please **** up but it does not give a persons name they are trying to contact
I have not had this number a day & I get these calls until late evening.
I don't know whether this is a scam or not. Perhaps the previous owner of my phone number had some debt or so****ing. But for sure I don't have any debt that is for collection because for one, I just arrived in the US and 2nd I don't have any loans in the US or anywhere else. I pay my credit card before the due date, otherwise it is my bank that would have persistently called me.Advise: don't answer their call and let it go to the voice mail.
Calls and says I called a wrong and invalid number. Call this number. I have not called anyone with this number.
This # called and said there was a collection account for well known bank and wanted to know how we would like to pay for this. We called the bank and they said we had nothing in collection, that it was a scam.
I also live on the west coast and they call me almost everyday at 5 am and it annoys me because i try to get as much sleep as i can because i work at 630 in the morning. they told me i had an outstanding balance with wells fargo bank of 33 dollars and that it was closed october of 2007. news flash, i havent banked with them for 3 years and my account was closed with me calling wells fargo and closing my bank account with them before any of this fraud began to s****. they are liars!!!!
as semicrazy noted, if you have a new number and they are calling for a previous owner they will continue to call. if you ask them to desist they will for a time, about 6 weeks. they do not update their records of a bad number, they****ume you are lying is my best guess.they have been calling for a year now.
I got a call from 800-493-0796

My boyfriend called the number back after having messages left over and over a***n on his phone. The messages gave phone and reference numbers, and stated that this message was for ____. That is it. The call was not even directed at him. He called back and the person on the phone claimed to be from Wells Fargo bank and stated that there was a debt on an old account that has not been touched in years. After giving the reference number, they gave him his name and our current address, told him that the debt was $36.44, and then asked that he give the woman on the phone the number on our current debit card or one of our current checks. He told the woman that he would call back and she gave him her "operator number" and "name" (W042 M*****n). I wouldn't even bother calling the number back. I honestly believe that this is a scam and I will come back to every site I posted comments on after contacting the bank.
Constantly getting calls from a so-called "debt-collector." I have never even taken out any loans!!
they are driving me nuts. they call too early and then it seamed to go on all day. I finally had enough and called the Washington State collection agency board and then filed a complaint a***nst them. if you live in Washington state go to the Access Washington Web address and look it up and get the phone number, they will take your complaint and they can and will fine them.
Call a business line.
Leaves VM for someone esle, when I try to talk to a person, I get shuffled around the electronic system. They won't correct their mistake!
They call and then they **** up!
I did not answer, they left no message..
These people call me ALL THE TIME. The only message they leave says "This call is for ___________, if you are not ______________ please **** up".. and then continues with other BS, but there is a never a name... just silence. I've tried calling back and just end up sitting on hold... listening to some recording telling me how important my call is and that it may be recorded. This is really annoying and I wish they'd stop calling.
My teenage son has had his phone for over a year. This number has called him 3 times. He will not answer if he doesn't know who it is, so there was no conversation; however, they have NO REASON to be calling his number. They haven't called for over two weeks now, so maybe it has stopped. We were just wondering who they were. Thank you and good luck to others.
Ok I just called them back and they said they will remove my number in 24 hours, they asked the name of the person they were calling and I said I'm the new owner and he was very cool. Tks.
Keeps calling my phone asking for another person name!! So annoying!! How to block?

this caller calls 2 or 3 times per day for about two day in a row, then stops. Then s****s a***n about two weeks later. They leave a message for some person we do not know.
they keep on calling me, yet say i am not on record
I called Wells Fargo and talked to an account manager who gave me the number for the Wells Fargo Privacy Preference automated system. I was connected directly but the number they gave me is 888-528-8460. The system allows you to tell them whether or not you choose to receive 1. Telemarketing calls on new services and 2. Mailings about new services.I don't think it's going to work because on the automated profile for me it said I already do not allow telemarketing calls from them. I'm not sure if this Wells Fargo system stops their affiliates from calling.
Caller asked if the last 4 numbers of my VISA credit card were ****. When I asked who was calling they said I had won a $500 online buying spree. I asked a***n who was calling and never got a name just more info about how I won. It seemed like a scam, they didn't want to give any information they just were looking for information.
Continue to call when I've asked to be taken off the list
Calling me at work saying I owe a debt which I don't
They continually call my cell phone number and either don't leave a message or leave a pre-recorded message: "Hello, this call is for_________" then there is nothing. It is very frustrating. I am registered on the Do Not Call List and feel this is an invasion of privacy!!
I keep getting the call on my cell phone - they have the wrong number listed for someone who's debt they are trying to collect on.
I got a call from 800-493-0796. They called for supposedly for Wells Fargo Bank regarding a closed bank account. I haven't had an account at Wells Fargo in over 15 years. I asked for backup of this debt and was told if I didn't pay $900 right then they would refer it to an attorney. They gave me a routing number and account number to reference. I called Wells Fargo and they have no account with the number they gave me and never did. The routing number was also incorrect. I gave the phone number to Wells Fargo to check if it was a legitimate collectiona agency for them and it was not. So do not pay these people before do any research.
Automated voice asks for a person who does not live here. Name they ask for c****es every few calls.
This number calls me once a day but nver leaves a message and when I pick up no one is there. When i call the number back no one ever picks up. Somebody please help me block this number!!!!!!
I have been receiving calls from them & the last one did not even state a name when the message referenced who was calling.
I also received a call from this company. They have now left two messages on my answering ma****e. I ignored the first message because there was no company name or reference number. The second message left the above phone number and a reference number, saying they were working for "Enhanced Recovery". We are not in collections and we have no bad debts. I called the listed phone number for Enhanced Recovery (found a website for them) 800-617-0049, received a message that they were closed (outside of normal business hours). If you get a call from this number don't call it back. Look up the company and call them directly if you feel the need to make certain that you are not in collections with this company.
We keep getting calls from this group. What's frustrating is that two days ago, I finally got tired of it and called and actually got a real person. I told the gentleman that the person they were looking for no longer had our number (by 6 years) and he said he would take it out of their database. Two days later, another call. What can a person do? This is blatant harrassment. What about a class action law suit?
I know for a fact that I have no debt at the moment. Who in the***** are these people???!!!
They keep calling me I am hold for over an hour and the line goes dead
fake debt collector i have no debt
They have called my cell twice. I haven't picked up the call because I have a pay as you go phone and it costs me when they call. Thanks for this service. It answered my questions.
They called me at 8:45pm and left me a message about collecting a debt I owed. It asked me to call back mentioning a reference number, which was never mentioned before ****ing up. I take good care of my credit and bills. Hence I wanted to clarify this once and for all. I called them back over 30 times. 28 of these lead to voicemail or a recorded message that says "Your call is important to us and maybe recorded for quality purposes"... it leads to a blank line. I waited for over 30 minutes before ****ing up. Finally I caught them... they asked for SSN, Name, etc. I asked them to spell it out for me using my phone number. He asked me which part of California I am based out of. After I told him, he mentioned the most common ****ese last name and it proved totally wrong in my case. These guys are well trained scam artists. Please be careful and never pick up calls from this number. If you really owe any debt, you should get so****ing in writing first from your creditor and then from the collections agency, not through phone calls at 9pm!
Be sure to report all calls to http://donotcall.gov. If they get enough calls, the government will step in & do so****ing. In our case they are trying to reach someone else who had our phone number before us. YEARS ago. And apparently they refuse to accept that the number has been reassigned.
call me about carb that i dont want
Left a voice mail on my cell phone claiming to be a debt collection agency, gave me a number to call and a reference number. I did not call back.
Similar issue to those described above. Repeated calls, "blank ****e" instead of name. Called back, was told they were looking for someone with a different name (not one of the ones given in any of the calls) and would stop calling. I am not certain it will come to anything, but I filed complaints with donotcall.gov and the FCC.
First, they claimed that they were a collections agency, calling to collect a debt and told me to call a certain number. when i called that number they gave me another number which turned out to be "live talk", an adult telephone line.
Got a message this afternoon saying they are a collection agency and the message stop when it suppose to give a reference number.I google 800-493-0796 and found this site and other discussion about this number. Almost all people beleive this is a scam. I think this is a scam also as I always pay off my balance and check my credit report regularly. The 800-493-1796 number, however, is the number of a legit collection agency named Enhanced Recovery per discussions on other website.Do check your credit report to be sure the claim is not legit.Good luck.
automated message using my first name and message cut off when refer to a reference number
they have been calling me for over a month now, each time at exactly at 5 AM!FREEwakeUPCALLwatever.
automated message without using my name or providing a reference number. Call back gets out of office message. Seems scamish
Constant calling.
Their ma****e is calling me every day to my cell number.I wonder why this phone number 1-800-493-0796 is still active and able continue practicing scam which is described above?
This is actually a legitimate collection agency. They said that I owed Wells Fargo $30 from an account that closed in 2005. I called Wells Fargo and they confirmed that Enhanced Recovery was a third party collection agency that they use. Wells Fargo has just released a listing of low amount debts on closed accounts. Verify this with your bank, but Wells Fargo****ured me that I did indeed owe this. A check was received after my account closed and they evidently honored it.
Watch out for this scam operation. They called me at 5am in the morning (I'm on the west coast) for almost a month before I got annoyed enough to call back. The call is an automated ma****e stating it's a collections agency with a reference number. When I called them back they knew my name and address. The demanded that I pay $40 owed to a major bank and I have to act now for "voluntary collection" and they will refer the debt back to the bank. I called my bank up and they could find no record of me owing any money (hehe they even waved my LOC annual fee).I called back to this scam outfit 5 hours later and asked them to provide any data to back up their claims (any do***entation, etc), especially since my bank has no idea about this collection. Interestingly it's the same lady answering the phone and remembers me (light day..eh). She couldn't provide any information about the account and after a couple of threats said she will refer the account back to my bank.So in summary it's a scam, I've checked with my bank and pulled a credit report and there is no trace of the amount or the account they mentioned.ADVICE: Call this operation back up (if they already know your phone) and ask them to never call you a***n (real collection agencies are required by law to stop calling you when you ask them). DO NOT give them any information including your SOCIAL SECURITY number. Check your accounts and pull a credit report to make sure that there are no errors.

Called my cellphone, claiming to collect for debt (BS). Called them back, company called ERC. Apparently a collection agency. It is afterhours. Idiots. It worries me that they have the cell #
They are calling for me saying they need to settle an unpaid debt. This is bull. I'm going to call them back in the morning and unload on them.
