Leave a CommentSundance Vacations is always boasting about their membership in the Better Business Bureau. Consequently, the consumer should be aware of the myth of the Better Business Bureaus (BBB). The BBB is totally supported by business organizations that subscribe to their service such as Sundance Vacations. The consumers’ contribute absolutely nothing to the BBB. Consequently, when a dispute arises the BBB has the choice of supporting the consumer, or biting the hand that feeds them by opposing the business organizations that are the life-blood of their very existence! The BBB is one of the biggest fallacies’ in America. They have no enforcement powers what-so-ever; they are nothing more than a paper tiger totally supported by the business world to offer the unwary consumer a false sense of security. After being called because I "won" a "free" cruise wither to Mexico or the Caribbean, I went to their no-obligation meeting in New Jersey. My fiance and I like to travel each year at least once and after hearing what they had to offer it sounded like a great idea to be part of a vacation club and most of all what sold me was that they had a property in Aruba and the salesperson showed all the wonderful places that I would be able to travel to (they showed me a list that had percentages next to each place, which indicated the percentage of where people traveled). Well come to find out after I had already signed up, the biggest seller for me which was the Aruba property, not only had an age requirement of 35 (mind you I'm 29 my fiance is 25) but you had to pay an additional fee of $70/per person/per day (so an additional $980 and not to mention the additional $35/per child/per day). But the real kicker is that Aruba was the big item for me that sold me in addition to Costa Rica (for which they do not have a property but the sales person****ured me that I'd be able to travel to) but the Aruba property is not available any longer because they no longer own the property/ What kind of BS is that????? By the way I found out that they no longer own the property after doing research months later and reading all these things people have been saying about Sundance (Tan) and decide I needed to call and cancel my contract. The representative Sarah in the Reservations Department was very addament about how everything was on the contract and that they will nto cancel my contract. So I told her I would be going to the Attorney General Office and making a report about them because the 2 places that sold me on the program (aruba and Costa Rica) are nto a posssibility for me. I've been trying to get Costa Rica booked for 3 months but because I'm not flexible enough with my dates they cannot find me an available property. And now they no longer own the Aruba property so I forget using my vacation weeks to go there. Also, when I called the first time to cancel my contract the first thing they asked was if I was making payments, I said yes and they told me I would have to call Tristate Financial which is the company that has my loan. I called Tri-State and their answer was "you can't cancel your contract, this is a loan and you have to pay it off, we paid Sundance off and now you owe us the loan in full". I told them it was absurd to that I would pay them for a product I could not use. I then called my credit card company and told them not to allow any more charges from Tri-State beccause I'm disputing the contract.
Copied from FlyerTalk Forums >>> http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/s-p-m/792324-free-trip-sundance-vacations.html"I entered the Sundance Vacations sweepstakes (it was for a car) and I received the same telemarketing call but the telemarketer stunned me when she categorically contradicted all the Sundance Vacations Internet adverti*****ts. The Internet is saturated with Sundance Vacations adverti*****ts urging the consumer to enter their sweepstakes to “win” a “free” cruise. (The sweepstakes primary purpose is to obtain your telephone number to conduct telemarketing.)Obviously Sundance Vacations is deceptive and here is a perfect and glaring example of that deception, as copied directly from Google: “Sundance Vacations Sweepstakes / Sundance Vacations Free Cruise. Enter the Sundance Vacations Sweepstakes to win a Sundance Vacations free….” The Sundance Vacations web site clearly states: “Sundance Vacations Sweepstakes: Win a Sundance Vacations Free Cruise.”However, when the telemarketers call you they indicate that you didn’t “win” the cruise and that the cruise isn’t “free.” Red Flag!!! Rather, they state that the “promotional” cruise requires the consumer to pay taxes and port fees and is offered as an incentive to attend their sales pitch. Since you didn’t “win” the “free” cruise, you must attend the sales pitch to receive it. Red Flag!!! (From what I can glean they s**** out with a $15,000 vacation membership and then they keep dropping the price to make you sign a NON-CANCELABLE CONTRACT THAT NIGHT!) Red Flag!!!Sundance Vacations has dozens of web sites advertising the****ential to “win” a “free” cruise, but when their telemarketers call suddenly you didn’t “win” anything and the “free” cruise could be more costly than if you booked the cruise yourself without all the discouraging restrictions and blackout dates! As one blogger wrote, all those restrictions and blackout dates are designed to deter the consumer from ever using the “free” cruise! That reminds me of commercial on TV from allybank when the narrator says: “Even kids know an offer shouldn’t come with ridiculous conditions.”All things being equal the fact remains that Sundance Vacations advertises that the consumer can “win” a “free” cruise which is simply not the truth because you don’t “win” it - and it’s not “free.” That’s a bait and switch scam, plain and simple! Red Flag!!!"

Travel Wise / Travel Advantage Network.....Vacation Club Scam!!!
If you call a toll free number from a pay phone it cost them about $0.30 for each call. If everybody would call the toll free number from a pay phone several times a day their cost of business would increase - perhaps enough that they would go out of business When calling the toll free number you just have to make sure the call connects. You don't have to have a conversation. Once the call connects, even if it’s just for a second, they get charged the $0.30
We went to the scheduled meeting. They have you sit through a presentation and then they try to get you to join their vacation plan. The longer you hold out the better the deal gets. Actually didn't end up sounding too bad of a deal. Anyway, you do end up walking out with a certificate for a 4 day/3 night cruise and airfare for two. You have to pay the port fees and taxes though (up to a total of about $450). Still not a bad deal.
Just received the exact same call as all of you except they said I signed up at a Chicago Cubs game. I was, to say the least, a bit intoxicated this year when I did go but do not remember signing up for anything that weekend. Oh well, I'll just keep ignoring their phone calls. Google is a wonderful thing.
Dylan - I just got the call today and have an appt for tomorrow night. What did you find out at the meeting you went to?
Cameron you may have been too ***** to remember if it was at Miller Park. I too just received a call saying i won a cruise with free airfare. I have a meeting tonight. Not too sure if I want to go...seeing that ***ody has said anything back if they went or not.
Got a call from them telling me I won a contest at a Milwaukee Brewers game to go on a free cruise to the ba*****. I don't ever remember signing up for it. I have no clue how they got my personal info.
