Leave a CommentI posted a messages yes****ay. I called 800-319-5243 this morning withmy merchant number in hand. They described the service which I did not authorize so they discontinued all future charges and I will be receiving a credit for $24.99 in August. They were polite and professional. It is strange that it takes weeks to get your credit.
My contract ended with the leasing company in may but i just found out that Mspp is still charging the $29.95. im trying to find their number.
Same thing here. The charges just s****ed appearing on my account four months ago. What is amazing is that they can get your routing and account numbers. Discover is just handing these over to them? Am I missing so****ing?
I called and complained enough and got all 3 months refunded. But it is a total scam and fraud. They also had me listen to a recording that was a not our employee and the information they got beyond a "yes" such as birthdate was incorrect. I called MSPP on this and they said that they can't be responsible for the info my employees give...even though it wasn't my employee.Discover should cut their ties.I have filed a complaint with the Minnesota Attorney General.
Same thing who Do I call?
I have a similar story here. I just discovered the charge on my bank statement and it had been appearing since May. According to them it was "authorized" by an employee. The rep from MSPP insisted that there was nothing she could do, but after I told her I was going to report it to the FBI's internet crime complaint center and the Michigan Public Service commision, she "generously" offered me two months refund. I then asked for a manager and got them to play me the original recording. It was obvious that my employee was busy, distracted and didn't know what he was agreeing to. The recording was pathetic! After further emphasis that I would be reporting it to the FBI, they offered a full refund of the charges.
I noticed this charge the first hour it hit my account. I call my bank, Citibank and they flag it as fraud but then sent me a letter that it went through too quickly to stop.(merchant services clear overnight) I then called today 10/28/09 and with Citibank fraud supervisor on the line. They gave me a line about my son authorizing the charge and quoted his birthday (correctly). On Monday 10/13/09 my son did get a call and continually told the MSPP rep that he could NOT authorize anything. The recording of this call was doctored and faked. It was not my son’s voice at all. All I find about this company on the web is that they do this for a living. Charge small businesses and hope no one notices. They say that they have millions of satisfied customers but on their web site why would anyone pay for the ***ue services they list. http://www.merchantservicesprotectionplan.comI did get them to refund the full $29.95, but I don't understand how Discover could continue to let anyone operate through them like this.
I did not receive a call but maybe one of my employees did because I am getting charges to my bank statement every month for $29.95 for MSPP Merchservcs. There is no phone number****ociated with this. Does anyone have a nimber to contact them?
I also have been charged by "Legal Cllub" for eight months. I thought that it was another hit like Discover or Master Card. When I noticed that it appeared month after month without ever being reflected on any of my statements, I decided to research it. ***ody at my office claims to have spoken to these people at all. I called them and was told I could only get one month's refund. I said I would accept nothing less than a full refund. After holding I was told I could get two months refunded. I continued to balk and asked for the supervisor. He offered me the same, saying it was "company policy" to only refund one month. I said it was my company policy NOT to allow anyone to debit my bank account without a written contract! After about 20 minutes on the phone with them, they promised a full refund. We'll see if it hits the bank statement next month...I'm sure most medium sized businesses would never see a charge like this and certainly not stand their ground for the back charges! These scammers must be making a mint.
I'm just glad that I c****ed my account information back in December. Apparently this "charge" was trying to go through in MAY! They are now asking for a new account number so this can be paid....NOT! They can go F themselves!
DITTO! I've been had, too. Just discovered...no pun intended, that my company has been charged $29.95 for Legal Club Monthly since 2007 on our Discover account!!!! My bookkeeper did not catch this because she only reconciles the charges on our processor's statement to the bank statement. She****umed they were normal "discount fees", and never saw the details on the Discover statement.I called Discover, first and told I had to call Legal Club Monthly, directly to stop the billing and get a credit. I asked Discover why they are allowing a third party to bill through our account. Seems unbelievable to me as I have to prove my iden***y to make any c****es or get info. about my Discover account, yet they are happy to just allow anyone to put a charge and debit my checking account. There is a huge problem here, and gotta believe there are privacy and other legal issues to be addressed. Obviously, Legal Club Mthly was "happy" to cancel the service as they have soaked be for over $600.BE AWARE, I too believe there is a connection with other similar charges, cuz I ALSO have a monthly charge of $49.95 for MERCHANT TECH SOLUTIONS, which also, evidently, has been hitting my account since sometime in 2007!!!!If there is not a class action lawsuit brewing, at the very least WE need to consider an awareness campaign with Discover until everyone is refunded and satisfied.Feel free to call me directly...513-225-5020

Thank you! This is my story, exactly. I just spoke with a manager from MSPP and they will only give me 2 months (59.90) out of the 17 months I have been billed. I am the only one in the office and somehow I missed this charge for over a year. When I listened to the recording it was ridiculous! My employee was busy with customers and was trying to be polite but obviously could not understand the MSPP rep who had an accent and was speaking very fast. This kind of practice is just underhanded and deceitful. I am going to contact Discover and try to get my money back. I too, will discontinue accepting Discover if this is not rectified.
The business is Merchant Services Protection Plan (MSPP), a third party of Discover credit cards. I can't believe Discover does business with these people! MSPP called my store and a new employee "authorized" MSPP to s**** deducting $29.95 from my Discover merchant account for some protection plan. That's obsurd! My employee doen't have any of my banking info nor is she listed on any merchant account info. They just take her word that she is "authorized". How secure is that?! Makes me question how secure the Discover Network really is. Anyway, I called MSPP directly and they offered a 1/2 refund for the $209 they had stolen from me over 9 billing cycles. I didn't think that was good enough. I called Discover directly and talked to a manager, Marie, who was more understanding. She's putting my claim through to Discover's "3rd Party Liason" and she's going to call me back next week. She agreed that Discover's reputation is at risk when they solicit business to these 3rd party telemarketers. I'm optimistic I might get a full refund from Discover or MSPP now, otherwise I plan to cancel my Discover Merchant Services and never take their cards a***n at my business.Notes for the future... 1. Notify employees of these type of phone calls. Tell them to take a phone number if they are confused. Tell employees they are not authorized to make any business decisions over the phone.2. Notify your credit card merchant service company and tell them to remove your name from any 3rd party lists they might distribute.Hope this helps someone!
don't let them tell you they can only refund "the current month's billing only"ask for a supervisor, and they will refund every charge that was ever fraudulently made on your account (mine was well over $200 refunded)
