Some guy named Paul was calling for my mom, but said her last name wrong and got my last name wrong. The number showed up as 419 on my called ID. They did not give me a reference number. I called them back and told them I knew they were fake b/c my mom has no debt and neither do I. The guy got totally belligerent and s****ed to say what he was doing was totally legal, which right there makes it suspect. I said, "Why are you trying to tell people they have fake debt when there's a recession going on?" He told me to have a nice day and ***g up. SKETCHY!

Rude, rude, rude! They attempted to collect a debt (that I do owe); however, totally unprofessional! Using threats and scare tactics EVEN THOUGH I'M COOPERATING! I gave my account info so they may draft the settlement amount yet they are still calling to harass me because I will not provide a second contact number. If you're calling to get an alternate phone number and I answer, you clearly don't need an alternate number! They're saying if I don't provide it they can not settle my account and they will just have to use "Skip Tracing" to find the numbers of neighbors and family to contact them in case I'm unavailable. They even stooped to saying it was illegal for them to offer a settlement if I did not provide them with an alternate number!

Some woman from this number called on Thurs. Feb. 18. She left a message saying it was urgent but rushed through her name and extension. I could only get the 800 # and called Feb.19. Some person claiming their name was Teresa, said the acct. wasn't paid & the last payment was Jan for $40. That was the arrangement that was made with some other agency. This is with Capital One and they just shuffle the acct. from one place to another and NEVER contact you. I couldn't get a straight answer from this person and all he/she would say is that they dropped the acct. because I gave them a hard time and refused to pay. I have NEVER refused to pay and it has been an automatic debit for months. I am tired of this abuse!

these people call on a daily basis and are EXTREMELY rude. One message included curse words!!! This is unbelievable and unexceptable.

Called with an urgent matter. and I had until tonight by 9:00pm to return the call. They call at least every other day and are attempting to collect on so****ing that goes back 8 + years. I attempted to explain that their info is inacurate but they don't listen. They bought this debt from another collector. How dumb is that. Very rude and stern.

I checked my voicemail a couple weeks ago and was surprised by a message from a Keith Rosemont at (800) 536-5197. He was looking for my brother (who is experiencing financial difficulty after just graduating college). What immediately shocked me is that I don't even live in the same state as my brother. How did this guy find me? Now that I've read some other blogs, I realize that this is a tactic used by slimey collections agencies, in this case a place called United Collection Bureau (UCB). They call everyone they can including a person's family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers with the intention to shame and heckle the debtor into paying. What a disgusting way to deal with people who are hurting in a horrible economy!

A Mrs. Brown called my house and ask me if I knew Betty Hayes. I told her I knew of her. She ask me to take the Number 1-800-536-5197 and put it in Betty Hayes Mailbox. I don't think this would be legal for that box is for us mail and if someone else is using that box for other purbases it could be aginst the law.

just got a call from these people at work.  according to everyone else on here this must be a collection agency, but i have paid off all of my debt.  i'm still not sure why they are calling me but i don't intend on answering the phone.

Called work and left a message saying this is Keith Rosemont with UCB(N?) Inc. saying that it's important that you return my call be any further action can be taken. Gave a file number and said that this is not a solistation, but a very urgent matter concerning me and I expect a call back.

Got a weird msg from these folks, and have zero ideas why. Figured it to be a telemarketing call or a scam, since they refused to identify themselves properly in the call or on caller ID. Sounded ultra-urgent, but looking about online? I have zero inclination to call them back. I have no outstanding bills that I'm aware of, so I doubt they're looking for me for any reason. Meh - if it's that important they'll send snail mail. I'll ignore 'em otherwise and block 'em on my phone.

UCB- United collection Bureau. Wanted to speak to me or another name that does not live here. Said I owed money to Sears and have been using another name. Do not owe Sears and I am proud of my name and have never used another name. I get this call at least twice aday and it causes a lot of difficulty for me to get these calls. Every one needs to call comsumer affairs and put a stop to this company.

Harrassing calls to give information about neighbor. They will not quit calling. They argued with me trying to get me to give out information which is NOT my business. I told them to stop calling and harrassing me and they continue. I would like this to cease!

Got an irritating call from UCD.  Teresa was the caller's name and she was looking for my wife's deceased uncle.  She claimed this is an urgent call and she tried to get****ertive with me.  I gave her no information and she still tried to give her number 1 800-536-5197 to me so she can get a call back from 'deceased uncle'.
