I recieved a text message from [email protected] saying "META BANK urgent security notification:unusual activity." Toll-free call 8005398414. I Found out on the news that it is a scam to get your credit card information. If you get it--ignore it!!

text message to cell phone: from 6245 [email protected] S: M: META Bank urgent security notification: unusuable active. Toll-free call 8005398414. We don't have an account with META BANK. sounds like phishing.
Metabank is emailing my blackberry telling me to call 8005398414 and wants my information. Meta Bank is only in South Dakota and Iowa from what I have been able to find out. Do to living in Iowa once the bank opens this morning I will be taking a drive over and having a little chat with them.
I RECIEVED ABOUT 8 DIFFERENT TXTS FROM THE 1-800-539-8414 AND ALSO CALLED THE 800 NUMBER TO FIND OUT THEY WANTED MY 16 DIGIT CC NUMBER, I ***G UP AND CALLED CELL PROVIDER TO FIND OUT THAT THIS IS A SCAM. ALL OF THESE TXT CAME WITHIN AND HOUR AND A HALF OF WHEN THIS S****ED. I ALSO RECIEVED ONE AT 3AM. WAS TOLD TO DELETE AND IGNORE THESE BOTHERSOME TXTS
Received a text message that there was abnormal usage on my account. Never heard of "Meta Bank". When I called, it asked for my credit card number and "other personal information". Tried to give a bogus credit card number to find out what other personal information they would try to acquire, but they seemed to validate the credit card number, and no way I was going to let them steal my information. Response system was totally automated.
Received text message concerning Meta Bank unusual activity and to call toll-free. (We've never banked here, even though we live in Iowa, where there is a Meta Bank.) The From: [email protected] (I didn't look it up) How are they getting our cell phone numbers? My wife received one from Meta Bank an hour later with a different number:
