Leave a Comment(copy and pasted from my post on 800notes.com on this number) This phone number is a telemarketing call from Directbuy's reservation department. They are scammers on a national level. Their sister company is Sears Vacation, which is located in Scottsdale, Arizona. There is a possibility you are also being called by 866-707-8417, which is Sears Vacation. Representatives from both companies ended up squeezing my phone number out of me with harassment at a veterans parade. After they get your number via unsavory ****ods, they are known to continually call you until you set up an appointment to come to their physical location for a 2 hour appointment/pressure sale. They are said to isolate you to trick you into signing a $5000 contract for their "furniture club", and guilt you if you show hesitation. They say you can cancel in 3 days, but they make it impossible for you once you are in the club. They are many stories online about Directbuy and Sears Vacations' exploits. When they call me, there is silence and then they **** up. If I miss the call, they leave no message. If you call back, no representatives answer. Instead, you get a message that asks you to leave your phone number with them. These ****ods make it difficult for you to get them to put you on their do-not-call list. There is a possibility they are using a robo-dialer, which is illegal and sue-able if they're calling your cellphone. If you are ever able to get a rep on the line, put them on speakerphone and record your interactions with them. You may need to call another number of Directbuy to do so. Tell them to put you on their company's and affiliate companies' do-not-call list. Also ask them to email you a copy of their Do-Not-Call policy. If they ignore your request and call you a***n, that is a violation of the TCPA/Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Keep track of each call, 'cuz each call might be able to be counted as a violation. Tally up the violations and you may be able to sue them for a pretty good amount in small claims court. I personally googled "how to sue telemarketers" to find successful cases and because I'm disgusted that companies like these get away with daily harassment and even scam people out of their money. I don't want their ***** money, but I do want to find permanent ways to end their harassment of me. (P.S. I'm not a lawyer, so seeking legal advice if you want to be 100% sure is best.)
