Leave a Commentrecorded message left saying 'not a sales call' - important financial matter. Grr-r.
Hi all. I received a call on my cell and I didn't recognize the name they gave, World Financial Network National Bank, phone # 1-800-579-5457. So I did a little research and found that they are a bank that issues retail store credit cards. They issue cards for The Avenue, Victoria Secret, Crate & Barrel, J Crew, Spiegel, Abercrombie & Fitch, Dress Barn, Ann Taylor, Gander Mountain, Maurices, Buckle, Sportsman’s Guide Visa, New York & Company, Express, or any card issued through Alliance Data. I did call these people and I got an operator by putting in a bunch of 0's for the ss # twice. They will tell you what card they are calling about if you verify your phone number, name and mailing address. I told them I wouldn't verify my soc sec # until I knew who they were. They then told me with no hesitation which card they were calling about. They are a legitimate company. This is not a scam. They are calling to tell you your payment is past due. I find it ****** that they call under the main financial company name instead of identifying the store card. No wonder so many people think its a scam.

I called the number back and kept hitting "0" until i got a real person. I chewed them out. I am also reporting them to the FCC/FTC
I never heard of these people but they left me a message to call them regarding a "personal matter - this is not a sales call". I did not return the call and reported them to the govt's DO NOT CALL website.
Received a call asking me to call this number. Answered with automated system and was asked for account number and social security number. I did not respond.
Except for a female voice with an English or Australian accent it is a mix of the same as all those below.
I received a call from this number. When it came through my cell phone the caller ID said unknown. The message was an automated message and said this is not a business call. Please call world finance at 800-579-5457. I never heard of this company. I googled them and found many messages from people advising their asking for your account number which you dont have or your SS number. I hope people are not that gullible and provide this information to them via: phone. This is a scam trying to get your ss. number and personal information.
SAYS THEY'RE CALLING REGARDING CREDIT CARD,VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHAT CREDIT CARD THEY ARE REFERRING TO. WHEN # IS CALLED THEY ASK FOR CREDIT CARD # OR IF YOU DON'T HAVE # THEN ENTER FULL S.S. NUMBER. THEY DO NOT IDENTIFY COMPANY THEY ARE CALLING FOR.
called on my cell phone stating it was a call for me to handle some personal business and not a sales call, for me to call 18005795457, when i called they wanted me to enter acct., if i did not have my acct#, then enter my ss#, at no time did they identify themselves
Asked for account number which I did not have, to continue without account they asked for full Social Secuity number. At this point I just ***g up the phone. This the second time this caller has called. The last time I just erased my voice message.
Same "Urgent Financial Matter" message indicating it is not a sales call. I'm on the Do Not Call list for some time and I do not get too many of these calls so I found it disturbing.
Call on answering ma****e "world financial network national bank" no number or name shows on screen of ma****e "urgent financial matter" don't know how crooks got my number
I have been getting this call too. It prompted me to enter my account number or if I didn't have it, I could enter my SS#. I hope they were recording me because I called them a bunch of phishing %^&%*ers. So****ing needs to be done about this.
message said World Financial Bank about important matter. Have no knowledge of a financial ins***ute with this name.
I got the same call asking for my social security number.
Asks for S.S.
Asked for account number which I did not have, to continue without account they asked for full Social Secuity number.
Asked for account number which I did not have as I do not recognize this company, to continue without account they asked for full Social Secuity number.
NOTHERN
I also received a call on my cell phone with a recorded message telling me the is was World Financial Bank and to call back this number.
i got a voicemail w/a british lady saying to call this number regarding important financial info.. so i called it and got the same thing everyone else got. i put in a fake ssn but it kept saying the info is invalid...
Caller Type: Unknown Phone Number Owner: World Financial Phone Number Report: left message saying that they needed to contact me about a financial matter and it was not a sales call.
I also received a call on my cell phone with a recorded message telling me the is was World Financial Bank and to call back this number.
I got one today, just the same. I wonder who it is?Do I call the police?
Got the same call today as well.
I got one today, just the same
I got a call from an unknown caller at 3:16 pm pacific time 8/24/08, the call gave me the number 18005795457 to call as there was an important matter regarding an account, does not identify themselves and tells me to call the number. I called the number and get a recording the says the call may be recorded and to press 1 for english. Then it verifies that my account matches the phone number and wants my last four digits of my SS#. It appears suspious to me. So I **** up.
Automated phone message telling me to call 800-579-5457. Asked for last 4 digits of social security number. When I went all the way through to customer service request, it said to call back during regular business hours.
asking for ss#
left message saying that they needed to contact me about a financial matter and it was not a sales call... Returning the call I got a prerecorded message to enter my account number and if i did not have it to enter my social security number, which i did not do....
They said I needed to call about a financial problem, then when I did they wanted an account number. I did not know who it was, so I had no account number, then it prompted for my ss number. I ***g up and called my bank. Sounded like a scam to them too.
Automated call asks for account number. If no account, asks for SSN. These people must be stopped.
I received an automated message from this number about a problem with my account. I called it back and I have accounts with World Financial, so I went through the beginning information because it does match how WFNNB does it. I realized halfway through the call that there was no need for me to check the account since the guy didn't have anything to tell me about my accounts. The company is actually called the World Financial Network National Bank. I called back two more times and it was the same guy but he used different names. I called a***n to ask if he would fax me confirmation that "my account was in good standing," which was all he was telling me about it. He s****ed to sputter, and realized he was caught. I had also called WFNNB and they had no record of any of the contact that I had had with this caller. I had to go through the fraud alerts and credit check paperwork to protect my account. So far nothing, but at least he knows we're on to his scam, because it really isn't a very good one.
Figure it is either a scam or telemarketing. Said it was an important business call wanted me to call back. Do not have any business with anyone connected to a firm called World Financial. People like this are most likely the ones ripping off the elderly or less careful people. Wish they could be stoped.

I got a call asking to call for an important financial transaction. When I called back, an automated message asked me to enter an account number. Since I didn't have an account number, it asked me to enter my social security number. I didn't enter it. I think they are in the business of collection social security numbers.
I got the same automated message on my answering ma****g that others are talking about. I decided to google the number before trying to call it back. They did say it was in reference to a past due account but left no account number. I thought if it was legitimate, they would leave an acount # or reference #. I believe it is probably a scam and they need to be stopped!
I received an automated message on my cell phone number to call this number regarding an account. The caller was "World Financial". The message said it was not a marketing call, but an urgent issue regarding the account. I called the 800 number and was asked to select 1 for English or 2 for Spanish. Then I was asked to enter my account number or social security number. I thought this call was in regard to a loan I have with a similar name. I entered a number and was told it was invalid. Then I was asked to enter it a***n. I believe this number is being used to illegally collect social security numbers and financial information.
