Leave a CommentA message was left at my former job stating it was AMEX, to call back 800-592-1176 before the end of the day. I found this and other postings on the web confirming it was a scam. Guess who isn't getting a call back today?
Same as previously mentioned, keep getting calls saying it's an urgent AMEX matter - to call 800-592-1176.....this is a scam as I contacted our corporate AMEX department and there is no such number****igned to AMEX.
Just call Amex directly like I did and they will tell you the same thing - this number does not match any of their numbers. Don't believe online comments saying this is legit, call Amex directly yourself and you will stay safe.
Actually 800-592-1176 is a number at AMEX. They left a message on my home phone for someone other than myself so I called the number on the back of my Platinum card and they verified it as such.
These people are very ingnorant and rude. They call my phone and **** up 5-6 times a day. They are also calling my family members leaving messages for them, saying they need to talk with me. How corrupt is this!! Does anyone know these people, I would ,like to talk to them. The number they leave, now one answers?
They stated that they are American Express and urgently ask me to call them back by the end of the day. I looked up blogs about this phone # and many other people get this same call and the representatives ask them for SS#. Many called AmerEx directly and they said that this is not one of their phone #s. It is highly like a fraud.
They left a message saying they were from AmEx, to call back before the end of the day. I called AmEx, who said this is not one of their numbers.
we keep getting calls that say call 800-592-1176, they say to call back immediately, we are a business, we do not have this card, we accept it,but do not have it.
