Bank of America... stop..I don't have an account!Don't want one.. stoppppp
Robo-call, claiming to be from Bank of America, told us to call this number. I tried calling and got "service not available" message. Bank of America confirmed that they had no reason to call me, and that this was probably a phishing attempt.
The call came while I was working; and my husband took the call and pressed 1 (which he should not have done since the automated system asked for my name.) The call contiued by having numbers pressed to continue on with the recording. I am very concerned that Bank of America would give acct. information to an agent such as this. This is a formal complaint and I will get in touch with a real person at Bank of America to talk about account issues.
The call came in as unavailable on my caller id, but listed the number 800-598-6236. The automated message stated it was Bank of America calling. The automated system asked for me by name and then asked me to press 1. Then it said "For security reasons, please enter your zip code or the last four digits of your social security number." I entered my zip code and the response was, "if you have any questions, please call us at 1-800-598-6236." When calling the number back, I get a recording saying "The service you are trying to reach is unavailable." I called Bank of America and they didn't know anything about it. I asked if my account was set up for any kind of an automated phone call and they said no. There wasn't any account information given by the automated system. I do have a payment due on my account tomorrow, but the payment has already been made. This is very strange and a little concerning!
Got a call. No message was left.
Called about credit card bill, which wasn't even due/past due. Asked if I had made pmt (which I had). I think if I had not, it would've asked for personally identifiable and bank account information. Checked with creditor - they knew nothing about this. What's weird - and scary - is that they knew the amount due. I got lucky!
Wanted us to pay a bill over the phone, bill not even due yet.
We received a call yes****ay.
