They call and leave voice mail messages saying I have won a free security system or a free night at a Marriott. All lies just to get you to call them back, Don't do it.

People - do NOT answer the phone if you don't know the number calling you. They s**** local numbers all the time to make it appear as if it might be someone locally that you know. Don't answer the phone and do not call them back! Once a***n, do NOT call them back for any reason, even if it is not you or if they have the wrong person, as they will never leave you alone.File a complaint with the Attorney General and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Also complain to Dept of Educ. If enough people file complaints, CTI Collectors WILL be taken off the Dept of Ed collector list for their shady business practices!

Thanks Kate ***ter for providing such a link. Someone with the name of Sara Smith called me one morning asking for a family who was once homeless. Aperently the family gave her my name and phone number as a refference. When ask what was this about for told some bu***hit story about it is about the Federal Act the could not say. These people are cons, and no one shold tell them anything. I called their 800 number it took them sometime to find this worker. She had no recallection of the conversation. I think they use wrong name too.

Called my cell phone, two different occasions.Left message, for someone other than me. Statingthat I had to call back as soon as I got this call. Said it regarded a garnishment order, with case number.NOT for me, since I don't have outstanding debts.Gotta s**** filing complaints as necessary.

A Denise Vernon from CTI keeps calling me as well. It's funny, she keeps c****ing the script she uses when she calls. This time she was from the counseling department. Other times she's trying to locate me to tell me important info, other times if I call back she'll tell me what this call is about. Today I got nothing more than her name, and an electronic jingle.I get three to ten calls per week from these people, for the past 4 weeks maybe. How long until they sell the account to the next junk debt buyer?

They are calling based on lookup on the internet for someone with the same name as mine.  They are leaving messages to call back if not actions will be taken with a goverment agent.  When I called back they wanted my name and SS# which I told them no way in***** am I going to do that.  Told them that their message was a little nasty expectly when they are cold calling based on internet lookup and not 100% sure they have the right people.  Also to take me off their list.  They****ured me they will not be calling a***n.

I got a call today as I am US contact for a college buddy who lives overseas. The person on the other end of the phone said he was with the US  Department of Education.  I am disinclined to pass the information on as he lied about who he represents.  They are a private collection agency.

There is a lady calling my cell phone day and nite asking for a Bob and even thought I am not calling back they keep leaving anoying messages on my cell.

Called stating my name was as a reference on an application, called back and they would not give me any information, used different names and also would not give me an address where they were located. My husband talked with a so called supervisor and informed her he was taping the conversation and she ***g up the phone.
