Leave a CommentClicked a link on MSN.com homepage to check the new low mortgage rates at LendingTree.com... S****ed to process of filling-out their online forms... got annoyed at how much detail they had to have... stopped and closed my browser. The next day (Sa****ay) my phone shows a call from this number at 7:07 PM at night; then another call from them on Sunday at 12:11 PM... That kind of unsolicited presumption and persistence when I didn't even finish filling out their online questionaire is both annoying and repulsive. I WILL NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!
I filled a application form at lending tree but didnt' finish it or put my social security number and exited.
Partially completed an information request, then closed the window without rea****g or submitting final page. Began received calls later the same day.
After s****ing a mortgage rate app on Lending Tree I canceled it before submitting it. However, since then I've been getting calls from 800-635-1413 throughout the day and night, often with no one on the other line.
aha! so that is what that was about. I did the same thing - partially filled it out and then saw how much info they require just for a preliminary inquiry. Plus, I just wasn't in the market at this time for the product I was inquiring about. So, I abandoned my app. Yet, they cull/phish this info just from the abandoned form! Makes you wonder what other phishing programs are out there when you abandon info online. I am going to go local for broker quotes from now on. And I live in the headquarters of Lending Tree. Hey, just so you know, I bet they know about this site and read this feedback that we are all posting. So, type what you want them to know and your preferences. THis isn't giving them the best PR. I actually liked Lending Tree. i am not sure it is the most compe***ive. We used it with our first mortgage and then our second. I think with the next one, we probably plan to go with a local broker and not do the online thing. Just so much info out there and I am not sure all those brokers really are competing. I tried hard to get them to reduce things, but they just talk a party line and say how they can't. I don't believe it. I just would like to figure out how to negotiate a way better mortgage rate and closing costs instead of what they offer as 'rock bottom'.
Caller ****-up - left no message - repeated calls, must****ume computer generated - am in process of developing computer program that will immediately identify these types of nuisance calls, and immediately respond with signal to CALLER that will TOTALLY DESTROY CALLERS DATA BASE - will attempt at later date to modify program to destroy callers computer hard-drive - THIS NONSENSE MUST STOP!!! These people are abusing the PRIVILEGE of use of the Internet, and do not deserve the equipment nor opportunity to use it as they currently are.
same here. I filled up the form aprtially and when I saw the SSN, I quit. but got 2 calls already from them today.

just as a note, guys, when you're filling out a mortgage application, unless you're just doing it for fun, then you need to give your social security number. you see, companies need to pull this thing called your credit score to see if you're approved for the amount that you want.
